CONSULT-III performs the following functions via CAN communication with BCM.

WORK SUPPORT Changes the setting for each system function.
SELF-DIAG RESULTS Displays the diagnosis results judged by BCM. Refer to BCS-51, "
DTCIndex".
CAN DIAG SUPPORT MNTR Monitors the reception status of CAN communication viewed from BCM.
DATA MONITOR The BCM input/output signals are displayed.
ACTIVE TEST The signals used to activate each device are forcibly supplied from BCM.
ECU IDENTIFICATION The BCM part number is displayed.
CONFIGURATION • Enables to read and save the vehicle specification.
• Enables to write the vehicle specification when replacing BCM.

Horn chirp function mode can be changed in this mode. The function mode will be changed when
"CHANG SETT" on CONSULT- III screen is touched.
HAZARD LAMP SET Hazard lamp function mode can be changed in this mode. The function mode will be changed when
"CHANG SETT" on CONSULT- III screen is touched.
MULTI ANSWER BACK SET Hazard and horn reminder mode can be changed in this mode. The reminder mode will be changed
when “CHANG SETT” on CONSULT-III screen is touched.
AUTO LOCK SET Auto locking function mode can be changed in this mode. The function mode will be changed when
"CHANG SETT" on CONSULT-

Check continuity between remote keyless entry receiver connector
M25 terminal 1 and ground.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >> Replace remote keyless entry receiver. Refer to SEC-
111 , "Removal and Installation".
NO >> GO TO 5
5.HARNESS INSPECTION BETWEEN INTE LLIGENT KEY UNIT AND RKE RECEIVER
1. Disconnect remote keyless entry receiver and Intelligent Key unit connectors.
2. Check continuity between Intelligent Key unit connector (A) M70 terminals 8, 9, 21, 30 and remote keyless entry receiver connec-
tor (B) M25 terminals 1, 2, 3, 4.
3. Check continuity between remote keyless entry receiver con- nector (B) M25 terminals 1, 2, 3, 4 and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?
YES >> Intelligent Key is OK.
NO >> Refer to DLK-106, "
Diagnosis Procedure".

1.CHECK INTELLIGENT KEY FUNCTION
Check keyfob function using Remote Keyless Entry Tester J-43241.
Does the test pass?
YES >> Intelligent Key is OK.
NO >> GO TO 2
2. CHECK INTELLIGENT KEY COMPONENTS
1. Release the lock knob at the back of the Intelligent Key and remove the mechanical key.
2. Insert a flat-blade screwdriver (A) wrapped with a cloth into the slit of the corner and twist it to separate the upper part from the
lower part.
CAUTION:
• Do not touch the circuit board or battery terminal.
• The keyfob is water-resistant. However, if it does get wet,
immediately wipe it dry.
3. Remove the Intelligent Key battery.
CAUTION:
• Keep dirt, grease, and other fo reign materials off the elec-
trode contact area.
4. Visually inspect keyfob internal components.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >> GO TO 3
NO >> Repair or replace malfunctioning parts.
3.CHECK INTELLIGENT KEY BATTERY
