The new Gallardo LP 560-4 MY09 is equipped with a modern electronic immobilizer system called “Immobilizer 4 with download”.
This antitheft device blocks vehicle ignition, making its use impossible if a control unit or key are not original or have been tampered with. The Immobilizer 4 system involves the following vehicle components: •the two Master 01 ( A) & Slave 11 ( B) engine control units
• the Immobilizer 25 control unit (integrated in the Kombi 17)
• the ignition keys
A secret code is concealed inside each component. It is processed and recognised at each start-up by the Immobilizer
25 control unit placed inside the instrument cluster (Kombi 17). If the code read on all components involved coincides,
ignition is permitted. In the event the Immobilizer 25 control unit recognises an inconsistency amongst the secret
codes of the vehicle components, power supply to the engine will be immediately cut off after about three seconds
from ignition, and the word SAFE will appear on the instrument cluster display. It will be impossible to start the engine until the inconsistency previously found is resolved.
The VAS PC Lamborghini software must be used for managing replacement of the components involved in the Immobilizer 4 ( Fig.1).
The Immobilizer 25 control unit is an integral part of the Kombi, and therefore cannot be replaced
separately.
The VAS PC Lamborghini software allows the components installed on the vehicle to be synchronized with the virtual
YHKLFOHFRQ¿JXUDWLRQLQWKHSURGXFWLRQGDWDEDVH7RSHUIRUPWKHV\QFKURQL]DWLRQFRQQHFWWKHVRIWZDUHWRWKHYHKLFOH
using the OBD II outlet and the laptop to the Internet using a network outlet at the same time. In this way, the VAS PC software will be able to exchange information between the vehicle and the production database.

The Immobilizer code for a replaced control unit can be managed simply by following the instructions displayed on the screen after the right function has been selected.
There are 8 main functions inside the “Guided Functions”, 5 of which are dedicated only to the Immobilizer code (Fig.43 ):
1 Kombi - enable immobilizer / new identity
2 Kombi - vehicle key adaptation, immobilizer IV
3 ECU 01 Master - engine control unit 01 enable immobilizer
4 ECU 11 Slave - engine control unit 11 enable immobilizer
5 ECU 01-11 Engine control units regeneration
6 Kombi - Read measurement value blocks
7 RNSE Interrogate Anti-theft PIN code
1 Kombi - enable immobilizer / new identity
The “1 Kombi – enable immobilizer / new identity” function ( Fig.43) must be used if a new identity has to be given
to the immobilizer because a complete keys & locks kit is replaced or if only the “Kombi 17” has to be replaced (see
example on page 27 “Immobilizer code for Kombi 17 replacement”), so the latter has to be simply adapted to the
existing immobilizer.
It is only when the “New Identity” function is selected that you have to get a new complete keys & locks kit
( Fig.44 ).

2 Kombi - vehicle key adaptation, immobilizer IV
The function “2 Kombi – vehicle key adaptation, immobilizer IV” (Fig.43) is instead used only when the existing keys
have to be adapted to the immobilizer currently in the vehicle. Example: when a customer requests an additional
key.
Only those keys that will be adapted using this procedure can later be used to start the engine. If one of the customer
keys is forgotten, function 2 (key adaptation) must be subsequently launched again and the procedure has to be repeated for all of the keys again.
If the entire complete locks kit has been replaced, it is necessary to give the immobilizer a new identity by
instead selecting “1 Kombi – enable immobilizer / new identity” as indicated in the note ( Fig.45).
The number of keys available will be asked during the key learning procedure (default: 2). Insert each key
in sequence when the tester makes the request.

The “3 ECU 01 Master – engine control unit 01 enable immobilizer” and “4 ECU 11 Slave – engine control unit
11 enable immobilizer” functions ( Fig.43) are instead used for replacing engine control units. Carefully follow the
instructions on the screen to complete the procedure.
Exchanging components between one vehicle and another similar vehicle is possible.

5 ECU 01-11 Engine control units regeneration
The function “5 ECU 01-11 Engine control units regeneration” (Fig. 43) has to be used only when there is an
interruption of communication while assigning a new immobilizer identity to the engine control units. In this case, it is possible to launch a regeneration to align the engine ECUs with the Kombi. 6 Kombi - Read measurement value block
To check the measurements displaying the correct code of the control units / keys, there is the guided function “Read measurement value block” in the Kombi ( Fig.43).
This displays whether or not the control units have been correctly coded, if the keys have been adapted and the total
number of keys recognised. If Immo status displays status 6, the immobilizer is coded correctly. The measurements to strictly take into consideration are on the Kombi ( Fig.46):
• channel 21 column 1 and 2
• channel 22 column 1,2,3 and 4
• channel 23 column 1,3 and 4
