ON±VEHICLE INSPECTION
1. REMOVE ENGINE COVER
Remove 4 nuts and engine cover.
2. INSPECT INJECTOR OPERATION
Check operation sound from each injector.
(1) With the engine running or cranking, use a sound
scope to check that there is normal operating noise
in proportion to engine speed.
(2) If you have no sound scope, you can check the in-
jector transmission operation with a screwdriver.
If no sound or an unusual sound is heard, check the wiring con-
nector, injector or injection signal from the ECM.
3. INSPECT INJECTOR RESISTANCE
(a) Disconnect the injector connectors.
(b) Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the
terminals.
Resistance: 13.4 ± 14.2 W at 20°C (68°F)
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the injector.
(c) Reconnect the injector connectors.
4. REINSTALL ENGINE COVER
Reinstall the 4 engine cover with the 4 nuts.
