Programming an entrance gate /
Programming all devices in the Canadian
market
1. Decide which of the 3 HomeLink buttons you want to
program.
2. Place your hand± held gate/device transmitter 25 to 75 mm
(1 to 3 in.) away from the surface of the HomeLink
.
Keep the indicator light on the HomeLink
 in view while
programming.
3. Press and hold the selected HomeLink
 button.
4. Continuously press and release (cycle) the hand± held
gate/device transmitter button every two seconds until step 5
is complete.
5. When the indicator light on the HomeLink
 changes from
a slow to a rapid flash after 20 seconds, you can release both
buttons.
6. Test the operation of the HomeLink
 by pressing the newly
programmed button. Check to see if the gate/device operates
correctly.
7. Repeat steps 1 through 6 for each remaining HomeLink

button to program another device.
Programming other devices
To program other devices such as home security systems,
home door locks or lighting, contact your authorized Lexus
dealer for assistance.
Reprogramming a button
Individual HomeLink buttons cannot be erased, however, to
reprogram a single button, follow the procedure ªProgramming
the HomeLink
º.
(b) Operating the HomeLink
To operate the HomeLink, press the appropriate HomeLink
button to activate the programmed device. The HomeLink
indicator light should come on. The HomeLink continues to
send the signal for up to 20 seconds as long as the button is
pressed.
(c) Erasing the entire HomeLink memory
(all three programs)
To erase all previously programmed codes at one time, press
and hold down the 2 outside buttons for 20 seconds until the
indicator light flashes.
If you sell your vehicle, be sure to erase the programs stored
in the HomeLink
 memory.

The cupholder is designed for holding cups or drink±cans
securely.
Center (type B): To hold cups or drink±cans, push the holder
support.
CAUTION
Do not place anything else other than cups or
drink±cans in the cupholder, as such items may be
thrown about in the compartment and possibly injure
people in the vehicle during sudden braking or in an
accident.

To use the cupholder, push the cupholder portion of the
center console box.
The cupholder is designed for holding cups or drink±cans
securely in its holes.
CAUTION
Do not place anything else other than cups or
drink±cans in the cupholder, as such items may be
thrown about in the compartment and possibly injure
people in the vehicle during sudden braking or in an
accident.
 To reduce the chance of injury in case of an accident
or sudden stop while driving, keep the cupholder
closed when not in use.
AUXILIARY BOXES

To use the auxiliary box, open it as shown above.
If coins or other small things get into the back of the panel in
the auxiliary box, you can take them out by removing the panel.

WARNING REFLECTOR HOLDER

To loosen: Pull the buckle forward.
To tighten: Pull on the belt.
Although the warning reflector itself is not included as an
original equipment, this belt can be used to store the warning
reflector.
Make sure the warning reflector is securely held.

you remove the luggage cover, place it somewhere other
than the passenger compartment. This will prevent
passengers from injury in the event of a sudden stop or
accident.
CAUTION
When installing the luggage cover, slide the knob and
securely lock the luggage cover while pushing the
knob. Otherwise, breaking away and falling of the cover
may cause serious injury at a collision.

To remove the rear luggage cover:
1Remove the clips on both sides of the back door.
Remove and install the clips as shown in the following
illustration.
2Remove the luggage cover from the anchor of the
back door.
In case you need to load any luggage which may interfere with
the rear luggage cover, remove the rear luggage cover.
After you remove the luggage cover, place it somewhere other
than the passenger compartment. This will prevent
passengers from injury in the event of a sudden stop or
accident.

2. Take off the hook at the backside of the deck board.
3. Lift up the back side of the board and secure the board
by hooking it at the top of the back door opening with the
hook at the edge of the strap.
Make sure the board is secured and does not fall down.

HOOD

1. To open the hood, pull the hood lock release lever
under the instrument panel. The hood will spring up
slightly.

2. Insert your fingers under the hood, push up the
auxiliary catch lever and lift the hood.

3. Hold the hood open by inserting the support rod into
the slot.
CAUTION
After inserting the support rod into the slot, make sure
the rod supports the hood securely from falling down on
to your head or body.
NOTICE
Be sure to return the support rod to its clip beforeclosing the hood. C losing the hood with the support rod
up could cause the hood to bend.

In case of unlocking the support rod, lift up the hood a
little, move the support rod and unlock it as shown by the
arrow marks in the illustration.
Before closing the hood, check to see that you have not
forgotten any tools, rags, etc. and return the support rod to its
clips±this prevents rattles. Then lower the hood and make sure
it locks into place. If necessary, press down gently on the front
edge to lock it.
CAUTION
Before driving, be sure that the hood is securely locked.
Otherwise, the hood may open unexpectedly while
driving and an accident may occur.
TRUNK LID
SS15005c
To unlock the trunk lid, insert the master key and turn it
clockwise.
To close the trunk lid, lower it and press down on it. After
closing the trunk lid, try pulling it up to make sure it is securely
closed.
The trunk lid can be unlocked using the wireless remote control
key. For details, see page 16.
If you unlock the trunk lid while the theft deterrent system is in
set, the theft deterrent system will be cancelled. (For details,
see page 27.)
