1-1. For safe use
1-1.For safe use
Use only floor mats designed specifi-
cally for vehicles of the same model
and model year as your vehicle. Fix
them securely in place onto the carpet.
1 Insert the retaining hooks (clips)
into the floor mat eyelets.
2 Turn the upper knob of each retain-
ing hook (clip) to secure the floor
mats in place.
Always align the marks .
The shape of the reta ining hooks (clips)
may differ from that shown in the illustra- tion.
Before driving
Observe the following before start-
ing off in the vehicle to ensure
safety of driving.
Installing floor mats
A
WARNING
Observe the following precautions. Failure to do so may cause the driver’s floor mat to slip, possibly interfering with
the pedals while driving. An unexpect- edly high speed may result or it may become difficult to stop the vehicle. This
could lead to an accident, resulting in death or serious injury.
■When installing the driver’s floor mat
●Do not use floor mats designed for other models or different model year vehicles, even if they are Lexus
Genuine floor mats.
●Only use floor mats designed for the driver’s seat.
●Always install the floor mat securely using the retaining hooks (clips) pro-
vided.
●Do not use two or more floor mats on top of each other.
●Do not place the floor mat bottom-side up or upside-down.
■Before driving
●Check that the floor mat is securely fixed in the correct place with all the
provided retaining hooks (clips). Be especially careful to perform this check after cleaning the floor.
●With the engine <hybrid system> stopped and the shift position in P, fully
depress each pedal to the floor to make sure it does not interfere with the floor mat.

■“PASSENGER AIR BAG” indicator information
If any of the following problems occur, it is possible that there is a malfunction in the system. Have the vehicle inspected by any
authorized Lexus retailer or Lexus autho- rized repairer, or any reliable repairer.
●The “OFF” indicator does not illuminate when the airbag manual on-off switch is set to “OFF”.
●The indicator light does not change when the airbag manual on-off switch is
switched to “ON” or “OFF”.
Insert the mechanical key into the cyl-
inder and rotate to the “OFF” position.

1-3. Hybrid system
■Electromagnetic waves
●High voltage parts and cables on hybrid
vehicles incorporate electromagnetic shielding, and therefore emit approxi-mately the same amount of electromag-
netic waves as conventional gasoline powered vehicles or home electronic appliances.
●Your vehicle may cause sound interfer-ence in some third party-produced radio
parts.
■Hybrid battery (traction battery)
The hybrid battery (traction battery) has a
limited service life. The lifespan of the hybrid battery (traction battery) can change in accordance with driving style and
driving conditions.
■Starting the hybrid system in an extremely cold environment
When the hybrid battery (traction battery) is extremely cold (below approximately -30°C [-22°F]) under the influence of the
outside temperature, it may not be possible to start the hybrid system. In this case, try to start the hybrid system again after the tem-
perature of the hybrid battery increases due to the outside temperature increase etc.
■Declaration of conformity
This model conforms to hydrogen emis- sions according to regulation ECE100
(Battery electric vehicle safety).
WARNING
■High voltage precautions
This vehicle has high voltage DC and AC systems as well as a 12-volt system. DC and AC high voltage is very dangerous
and can cause severe burns and electric shock that may result in death or serious injury.
●Never touch, disasse mble, remove or
replace the high voltage parts, cables or their connectors.
●The hybrid system will become hot after starting as the system uses high
voltage. Be careful of both the high voltage and the high temperature, and always obey the warning labels
attached to the vehicle.
●Never try to open the service plug access hole located behind the rear seats. The service plug is used only
when the vehicle is serviced and is subject to high voltage.
■Road accident cautions
Observe the following precautions to
reduce the risk of death or serious injury:
●Stop the vehicle in a safe place to pre- vent subsequent accidents. While depressing the brake pedal, apply the
parking brake and shift the shift posi- tion to P to stop the hybrid system.
Then, slowly release the brake pedal.
●Do not touch the high voltage parts, cables and connectors.
●If electric wires are exposed inside or outside your vehicle, an electric shock
may occur. Never touch exposed elec- tric wires.

The indicators will be displayed in
amber ( ) when the engine speed
reaches a set speed, and in red ( )
when the engine speed reaches the
red zone. This setting can be enabled
on the multi-information display.

exceeds the following, an afterimage of
the tachometer will be displayed at the
highest engine speed for approxi-
mately 1 second.

■The meters and display illuminate when
The engine switch <p ower switch> is in
IGNITION ON mode <ON mode>.
■Variable red zone (LC500)
To help protect the engine, the engine
speed is controlled by starting the red zone of the tachometer at different engine speeds ranging from 3700 r/min to 7300
r/min depending on the engine coolant temperature.
Before driving under extremely high load conditions, make sure to sufficiently warm up the engine.
■Instrument panel brightness adjustment
The brightness of the instrument panel lights is automatically adjusted based on the light sensor detecting how bright the sur-
roundings are.
■Outside temperature display
●In the following situations, the correct
outside temperature may not be dis- played, or the display may take longer
than normal to change. • When stopped, or driving at low speeds (less than 20 km/h [12 mph])
• When the outside temperature has changed suddenly (at the entrance/exit of a garage, tunnel, etc.)
●When “- -” or “E” is displayed, the system may be malfunctioning.
Take your vehicle to any authorized Lexus retailer or Lexus authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer.
■Pop-up display

■Caution for use while driving
●When operating the multi-information display while driving, pay extra atten-tion to the safety of the area around the
vehicle.
●Do not look continuously at the multi- information display while driving as you may fail to see pedestrians, objects
on the road, etc. ahead of the vehicle.
■The information display at low tem- peratures
Allow the interior of the vehicle to warm up before using the liquid crystal infor-
mation display. At extremely low tem- peratures, the information display monitor may respond slowly, and display
changes may be delayed. For example, there is a lag between the driver’s shifting and the new gear number
appearing on the display. This lag could cause the driver to downshift again, causing rapid and excessive engine brak-
ing and possibly an accident resulting in death or injury.
