SITTING IN THE CORRECT
POSITION
WARNINGS
Sitting improperly, out of position orwith the seatback reclined too far cantake weight off the seat cushion and affectthe decision of the passenger sensingsystem, resulting in serious injury or deathin the event of a crash. Always sit uprightagainst your seat back, with your feet on thefloor.
Do not recline the seatback as this cancause the occupant to slide under thesafety belt, resulting in serious injury in theevent of a crash.
Do not place objects higher than theseatback to reduce the risk of seriousinjury in the event of a crash or during heavybraking.
When you use them properly, the seat, headrestraint, safety belt and airbags will provideoptimum protection in the event of a crash.
We recommend that you follow theseguidelines:
•Sit in an upright position with the base ofyour spine as far back as possible.
•Do not recline the seatback more than30 degrees.
•Adjust the head restraint so that the topof it is level with the top of your head andas far forward as possible. Make sure thatyou remain comfortable.
•Keep sufficient distance betweenyourself and the steering wheel. Werecommend a minimum of 10 in (25 cm)between your breastbone and the airbagcover.
•Hold the steering wheel with your armsslightly bent.
•Bend your legs slightly so that you canpress the pedals fully.
•Position the shoulder strap of the safetybelt over the center of your shoulder andposition the lap strap tightly across yourhips.
Make sure that your driving position iscomfortable and that you can maintain fullcontrol of your vehicle.
HEAD RESTRAINTS
WARNINGS
Fully adjust the head restraint beforeyou sit in or operate your vehicle. Thiswill help minimize the risk of neck injury inthe event of a crash. Do not adjust the headrestraint when your vehicle is moving.

WARNINGS
The adjustable head restraint is asafety device. Whenever possible, itshould be installed and properly adjustedwhen the seat is occupied. Failure to adjustthe head restraint properly could reduce itseffectiveness during certain impacts.
Install the head restraint properly tohelp minimize the risk of neck injury inthe event of a crash.
Note:Adjust the seatback to an uprightdriving position before adjusting the headrestraint. Adjust the head restraint so thatthe top of it is level with the top of your headand as far forward as possible. Make surethat you remain comfortable. If you areextremely tall, adjust the head restraint toits highest position.

Lowering the Head Restraint
1. Press and hold button C.
2. Push the head restraint down.
Removing the Head Restraint
1.Pull the head restraint up until it reachesits highest position.
2. Press and hold buttons C and D.
3. Pull the head restraint up.
Installing the Head Restraint
Align the steel stems into the guide sleevesand push the head restraint down until itlocks.
Tilting Head Restraints
The front head restraints have a tiltingfeature for extra comfort. To tilt the headrestraint, do the following:
1.Adjust the seatback to an upright drivingor riding position.
2. Pivot the head restraint forward towardyour head to the desired position.
After the head restraint reaches theforward-most tilt position, pivoting it forwardagain will then release it to the rearward,untilted position.
POWER SEATS
WARNINGS
Do not adjust the front seat or seatbackwhile your vehicle is moving. This mayresult in sudden seat movement, causing theloss of control of your vehicle.
Do not place cargo or any objectsbehind the seatback before returningit to the original position.

1. Choose the desired seat to adjust.
2. Press the + or - to adjust the lumbarintensity.

1. Press the Menu Settings icon, thenVehicle. Choose Multi-Contour Seats.
2. Choose the desired seat to adjust.
3. Press OFF, LO or HI.

MEMORY FUNCTION (If Equipped)
WARNINGS
Before activating the memory seat,make sure that the area immediatelysurrounding the seat is clear of obstructionsand that all occupants are clear of movingparts.
Do not use the memory function whenyour vehicle is moving.
This feature automatically recalls the positionof the following features:
•Driver seat.
•Power mirrors.
•Power steering column.
The memory control is on the driver door.
Saving a PreSet Position
1. Adjust the memory features to yourdesired position.
2. Press the SET button until you hear asingle tone.
3.Press the desired preset button until youhear a single tone.
You can save up to two preset memorypositions. You can save a memory preset atany time.
Recalling a PreSet Position
Press and release the preset buttonassociated with your desired driving position.The memory features move to the positionstored for that preset.
Note:You can only recall a preset memoryposition when you switch the ignition off, orwhen the transmission is in park (P) orneutral (N) if the ignition is on and the vehicleis not moving.
You can also recall a preset memory positionby:
•Pressing the unlock button on yourintelligent access key fob if it is linked toa preset position.
•Unlocking the intelligent driver doorhandle if a linked key fob is present.
Note:Using a linked key fob to recall yourmemory position when the ignition is offmoves the seat to the Easy Entry position.
Note:Pressing any active memory featurecontrol - power seat, mirror, or steeringcolumn (or any memory button) during amemory recall cancels the operation.

Linking a PreSet Position to yourRemote Control or Intelligent AccessKey Fob
Your vehicle can save the preset memorypositions for up to two remote controls orintelligent access (IA) keys.
After you have saved your desired memorypreset positions:
1.Press and hold the desired preset buttonfor about three seconds until you hear asingle tone.
2. Within three seconds, press the lockbutton on the remote control you arelinking.
To unlink a remote control, follow the sameprocedure – except in step 2, press theunlock button on the remote control.
Note:If more than one linked remote controlor intelligent access key is in range, thememory function moves to the settings ofthe first key to initiate a memory recall.
Easy Entry and Exit Feature
If you enable the easy entry and exit feature,it automatically moves the driver seatposition rearward up to 2 in (5 cm) when youswitch the ignition off.
The driver seat returns to the previousposition when you switch the ignition on.
You can enable or disable this feature in theinformation display. See GeneralInformation (page 112).
REAR SEATS
Note:Your vehicle may have split seatbacksthat you must fold individually.
Note:Make sure the center safety belt isunbuckled before folding the seatback.
To lower the seat back(s) from inside thevehicle, do the following:
1. Pull the handle to release the seatback.
2. Push the seatback forward.

3. Stow the safety belt in the stowage clip.This will prevent the safety belt fromgetting caught in the seat latch.
When raising the seat back(s), make sure youhear the seat latch into place.
HEATED SEATS
Front Seats
WARNING
People who are unable to feel pain totheir skin because of advanced age,chronic illness, diabetes, spinal cord injury,medication, alcohol use, exhaustion or otherphysical conditions, must exercise care whenusing the heated seat. The heated seat maycause burns even at low temperatures,especially if used for long periods of time.Do not place anything on the seat thatinsulates against heat, such as a blanket orcushion. This may cause the heated seat tooverheat. Do not puncture the seat with pins,needles or other pointed objects. This maydamage the heating element which maycause the heated seat to overheat. Anoverheated seat may cause serious personalinjury.
Do not do the following:
•Place heavy objects on the seat.
•Operate the heated seat if water or anyother liquid spills on the seat. Allow theseat to dry thoroughly.
•Operate the heated seats unless theengine is running. Doing so can causethe battery to lose charge.
Press the heated seat symbol to cyclethrough the various heat settings and off.More indicator lights indicate warmersettings.
