coolant level MAZDA MODEL CX-30 2019 Owners Manual (in English)

CAUTION
When the engine coolant temperature
gauge needle is in the red range, the
engine coolant temperature is
extremely high. Drive slowly to reduce
engine load. If the engine coolant
temperature gauge needle is in the red
range, there is the possibility of
overheating. Park the vehicle in a safe
place immediately and take
appropriate measures.
Refer to Overheating on page 7-44.
NOTE
xIf the engine or engine coolant
temperature is high or low, the
engine output may be restricted to
protect the engine.
xDuring normal driving , the engine
coolant temperature stabilizes at 100
°C (210 °F) or less, and the gauge
indicates a range lower than 100 °C
(210 °F).
▼Fuel Gauge
The fuel gauge shows approximately
how much fuel is remaining in the tank
when the ignition is switched ON. We
recommend keeping the tank over 1/4
full.

1. Full
2. 1/4 Full
3. Empty

If the low fuel warning light illuminates
or the fuel level is very low, refuel as
soon as possible.
If inconsistency in engine performance
or stalling occurs due to low fuel level
conditions, refuel the vehicle as soon
as possible and add at least 10 L (2.7
US gal, 2.2 Imp gal) of fuel.
Refer to Low Fuel Warning Indication/
Warning Light on page 7-58.
NOTE
xAfter refuelling, it may require some
time for the indicator to stabilize. In
addition, the indicator may deviate
while driving on a slope or curve
since the fuel moves in the tank.

▼Outside Temperature Display
When the ignition is switched ON, the
outside temperature is displayed.

NOTE
xUnder the following conditions, the
outside temperature display may
differ from the actual outside
temperature depending on the
surroundings and vehicle conditions:
xSignificantly cold or hot
temperatures.
xSudden changes in outside
temperature.
xThe vehicle is parked.xThe vehicle is driven at low speeds.
Changing the Temperature Unit of the
Outside Temperature Display
The outside temperature unit can be
switched between Celsius and
Fahrenheit.
Settings can be changed by operating
the centre display screen.
Refer to the Settings section in the
Mazda Connect Owner's Manual.
NOTE
When the temperature unit indicated
in the outside temperature display is
changed, the temperature unit
indicated in the engine coolant gauge
display changes in conjunction with it.
Outside Temperature Warning*
When the outside temperature is low,
the indication flashes and a beep
sound is heard to warn the driver of
the possibility of icy roads.
If the outside temperature is lower
than about 4 °C (39 °F), the outside
temperature display and the
mark
flashes for about 3 seconds and a beep
sound is heard once.
NOTE
If the outside temperature is lower
than -20 °C (-4 °F), the beep sound
does not operate. However, the
mark illuminates.
▼Distance-to-empty
This displays the approximate distance
you can travel on the remaining fuel
based on the fuel economy.
The distance-to-empty will be
calculated and displayed every second.

NOTE
xEven though the distance-to-empty
display may indicate a
sufficient
amount of remaining driving distance
before refuelling is required, refuel as
soon as possible if the fuel level is
very low or the low fuel warning light
illuminates.
xThe display will not change unless
you add more than approximately 9
L (2.3 US gal, 1.9 Imp gal) of fuel.

CAUTION
If the air conditioner is used while
driving up long hills or in heavy traffic,
monitor the high engine coolant
temperature warning indication to see
if it is displayed (page 7-51).
The air conditioner may cause engine
overheating. If the warning indication
is displayed, turn the air conditioner
off (page 7-44).
NOTE
xWhen maximum cooling is desired,
set the temperature control dial to
the extreme cold position and set
the air intake selector to the
recirculated air position, then turn
the fan control dial fully clockwise.
xIf warmer air is desired at
floor level,
press the
switch and adjust the
temperature control dial to maintain
maximum comfort.
xThe air to the floor is warmer than air
to the face (except when the
temperature control dial is set at the
extreme hot or cold position).
▼Ventilation
1. Press the switch.
2. Set the air intake selector to the
outside air position (indicator light
turns off).
3. Set the temperature control dial to
the desired position.
4. Set the fan control dial to the
desired speed.
▼Windscreen Defrosting and
Defogging
1. Press the switch.
2. Set the temperature control dial to
the desired position.
3. Set the fan control dial to the
desired speed.
4. If dehumidified heating is desired,
turn on the air conditioner.
WARNING
Do not defog the windscreen using
the
switch with the temperature
control set to the cold position:
Using the
switch with the
temperature control set to the cold
position is dangerous as it will cause
the outside of the windscreen to fog
up. Your vision will be hampered,
which could lead to a serious accident.
Set the temperature control to the hot
or warm position when using the
switch.
NOTE
xFogging on the windows clears up
more easily while the air conditioner
is on, but they will fog up more easily
if the air conditioner is turned
off.
xBe careful that the windows do not
fog up when doing any of the
following:
xSwitching to recirculate modexTurning off the air conditionerxFor maximum defrosting , turn on the
air conditioner, set the temperature
control dial to the extreme hot
position, and turn the fan control
dial fully clockwise.
xIf warm air is desired at the floor,
press the
switch.
xWith the switch, the outside air
position is automatically selected to
defrost the windscreen. The air
intake selector cannot be changed to
the recirculated air position.

driver's education school car.
b) Driving under dusty conditions.
c) Driving for long periods in cold temperatures or driving regularly for short distances only.
d) Driving under extremely high temperature conditions.
e) Driving continuously in mountainous regions.
*3 For SKYACTIV-D 1.8 in Ukraine, if you drive your vehicle under any of the following conditions,
replace the engine oil & filter every 5,000 km (3,125 miles) or shorter.
a) The vehicle is idled for long periods or driven at low speeds, such as with police cars, taxis, or
driver's education school car.
b) Driving under dusty conditions.

before replacing them at the said interval.
Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Latvia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro,
Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Ukraine
*5 If the vehicle is operated in very dusty or sandy areas, clean and if necessary, replace the air filter
more often than the recommended intervals.
*6 Also inspect the air conditioner drive belts, if installed.

*10 If the brakes are used extensively (for example, continuous hard driving or mountain driving) or if the
vehicle is operated in extremely humid climates, replace the brake fluid annually.
*11 If this component has been submerged in water, the oil should be replaced.*12 Tyre rotation is recommended every 10,000 km (6,250 miles).*13 Inspect a spare tyre if installed.*14 Check the tyre repair fluid expiration date every year when performing the periodic maintenance.
Replace the tyre repair fluid bottle with new one before the expiration date.
*15 If DTC P1200 is stored, clean the fuel system by Mazda genuine deposit cleaner.
If the required tool (M-MDS) is not available, clean the fuel system by Mazda genuine deposit
cleaner without performing self-test.
Using non-genuine deposit cleaner would cause an internal failure in the fuel system.
*16 If the vehicle is operated primarily under any of the following conditions, perform "Self-test with
Mazda Modular Diagnostic System (M-MDS)" at every 10,000 km (6,250 miles).
a) The vehicle is idled for long periods or driven at low speeds, such as with police cars, taxis, or
driver's education school car.
b) Driving under extremely high temperature conditions.
