Instrument cluster submenu
Setting the brightness for the display and
switches
You can use theBrightnessfunction to set the
brightness of the multifunction display and the
switches in the vehicle in increments.
XPress òon the steering wheel to open the
menu list.
XPress :or9 on the steering wheel to
select the Settingsmenu.
XConfirm by pressing aon the steering
wheel.
XPress :or9 to select the Instru‐ment Clustersubmenu.
XPressato confirm.
XPress :or9 to select the Brightnessfunction.
XPressato confirm.
You can see the selected setting Levelwith a
value between 0 and 10. Level 0 corresponds
to a dim light and level 10 corresponds to a
bright light.
XPress :or9 to change the brightness.
The brightness is set simultaneously with the
selection.
XPress aor% to save the setting.
Selecting the distance unit
TheDisplay Unit Speed-/Odometer:func-
tion allows you to choose whether certain dis-
plays appear in kilometers or miles in the mul-
tifunction display.
XUse ò on the steering wheel to call up the
list of menus.
XPress the :or9 button on the steering
wheel to select the Settingsmenu.
XConfirm by pressing aon the steering
wheel.
XPress the :or9 button to select the

Switching the additional speedometer
on/off
If the additional speedometer is switched on,
the speed is shown in the status bar in the mul-
tifunction display instead of the outside tem-
perature.
The additional speedometer displays the speed
in the respective unit that is not shown in the
multifunction display.
XPressòon the steering wheel to open the
menu list.
XPress :or9 on the steering wheel to
select the Settingsmenu.
XConfirm by pressing aon the steering
wheel.
XPress :or9 to select the Instru‐ment Clustersubmenu.

tures: when the engine and transmission are
at normal operating temperature, oil temper-
atures ?and Aare displayed in white in the
multifunction display.
If the multifunction display shows oil temper-
ature ?orA in blue, the engine or the
transmission are not yet at normal operating
temperature. Avoid driving at full engine out-
put during this time.

G-Meter
The G-Meter shows you the forces that are exer-
ted on the driver during the journey, both later-
ally and in the direction of travel.
The maximum values are indicated in red in theguideline system.
XPress òon the steering wheel to open the
menu list.
XPress the :or9 button on the steering
wheel to select the AMGmenu.
XConfirm by pressing aon the steering
wheel.
XPress the 9button repeatedly until the G-
Meter appears.
The maximum values of the G-Meter are
saved.
XTo reset the G-Meter: pressaagain.
XUsing :or9 select Yeson the steer-
ing wheel.
XPress ato confirm.
The maximum values of the G-Meter are
deleted.
If the ignition remains switched off for longer
than four hours, the G-Meter will be automati-
cally reset.

Displaying and starting RACETIMER

The RACETIMER is only intended for use on a
closed race circuit. Do not use the function on
public roads.
You can start the RACETIMER when the engine is
running or if the key is in position 2in the igni-
tion lock.
XUse ò on the steering wheel to call up the
list of menus.
XPress the :or9 button on the steering
wheel to select the AMGmenu.
XConfirm by pressing aon the steering
wheel.
XPress the :or9 button repeatedly
until the RACETIMER is shown.
XTo start: press the abutton to start the
RACETIMER.
Starting a new lap

Stopping the RACETIMER

ing is continued.

Introduction
General notes
Display messages appear in the multifunction display.
Display messages with graphic displays may be shown in simplified form in the Operator's Manual
and may therefore differ from the multifunction display.
Please respond in accordance with the display messages and follow the additional notes in this
Operator's Manual.
With certain display messages, you will also hear a warning tone.
You can hide the display messages. The display messages are then stored in the message memory.
Rectify the cause of a display message as soon as possible.

When you stop and park the vehicle, please observe the notes on:

Hiding display messages
XPress theaor% button on the steering wheel.
The multifunction display hides the display message.
High-priority display messages are shown in red in the multifunction display. Some high-priority
display messages cannot be hidden.
The multifunction display shows these messages continuously until the causes for the messages
have been remedied.
Message memory
The on-board computer saves certain display messages in the message memory. You can call up
the display messages:
XUse ò on the steering wheel to call up the list of menus.
XPress :or9 on the steering wheel to select the Servicemenu.
XConfirm by pressingaon the steering wheel.
XPress the :or9 button to select the message memory.
If there are no display messages, the No Messagesdisplay appears in the multifunction display

gram) are temporarily not available.
Other driving systems and driving safety systems may also malfunc-
tion.
In addition, the ÷and! warning lamps light up in the instru-
ment cluster.
For example, the on-board voltage may be insufficient.
GWARNING
The brake system continues to function normally, but without the
functions listed above. The wheels could therefore lock if you brake
hard, for example.
The steerability and braking characteristics may be severely affected.
The braking distance in an emergency braking situation can increase.
If ESP
®is not operational, ESP®is unable to stabilize the vehicle.
There is an increased risk of skidding and an accident.
XDrive on carefully.
Carefully drive on a suitable stretch of road, making slight steering
movements at a speed above 12 mph (20 km/h).
If the display message disappears, the functions mentioned above are available again.
If the multifunction display still shows the display message:
XDrive on carefully.
XVisit a qualified specialist workshop immediately.
