Press button 1 r epeatedly until the desired
blower setting has been reached.
Depending on the blower setting, up to three
indicator lamps will light up. If all indicator
lamps are oM, the seat ventilation is switched

ases, such as carbon monoxide. Exhaust
gases can enter the vehicle interior if the tail-
gate is open when the engine is running, espe-
cially if the vehicle is in motion.

Never drive with the tailgate open. &

If objects, luggage or loads are not secured or

t secured suPciently, they could slip, tip
over or be thrown around and thereby hit vehi-
cle occupants.
There is a risk of injury, particularly in the
event of sudden braking or a sudden change
in direction. 
Always stow objects in such a way that

hey cannot be thrown around. 
Before the journey, secure objects, lug-

age or loads against slipping or tipping

If objects in the vehicle interior are stowed
incor
rectly, they can slide or be thrown around
and hit vehicle occupants. In addition, cup
holders, open stowage spaces and mobile
phone brackets cannot always retain all
objects they contain. There is a risk of injury, particularly in the

vent of braking manoeuvres or abrupt
changes in direction. 
Always stow objects so that they cannot
be t
hrown around in such situations. 
Always make sure that objects do not
pr

otrude from stowage spaces, luggage
nets or stowage nets. 
Close the lockable stowage spaces
bef
ore starting a journey. 
Stow and secure objects that are heavy,
har
d, pointed, sharp-edged, fragile or too
large in the load compartment. &

the driver's footwell and front-passenger
footwell
Objects in the driver's footwell and front-
passeng
er footwell may impede pedal travel or
block a depressed pedal.
This jeopardises the operating and road safety
of the vehicle. 122

Stow all objects in the vehicle securely
so t hat they cannot get into the driver's
footwell or front-passenger footwell.

prescribed in order to ensure that there
is always suPcient clearance for the
pedals. 
Do not use loose Ooor mats and do no

lay multiple Ooor mats on top of one
another. Vehicles with automatic front passenger airbag
shut-oM:

passenger seat may interfere with the function of
the automatic front passenger airbag shut-oM or
damage the system. Please observe the notes on
the function of the automatic front passenger air-
bag shut-oM ( page 56). &

and tailpipe trims
The exhaust tailpipe and tailpipe trims can

ery hot. If you come into contact
with these parts of the vehicle, you could burn
yourself. 
Always be particularly careful around the

ailpipe and the tailpipe trims and super-
vise children especially closely in this
area. 
Allow vehicle parts to cool down before
t
ouching them. The driving characteristics of your vehicle are
dependent on t

he distribution of the load within
the vehicle. You should bear the following in mind
when loading the vehicle:
= never exceed the permissible gross mass or
the permissible axle loads for the vehicle
(including occupants).

= the load must not protrude above the upper
edge of the seat backrests.
= always use the partition net when transporting
objects in the load compartment.
= always place the load behind unoccupied

Rear passengers may come into contact with

ts of the mechanical seat components. 
If the front passenger seat backrest is

olded forwards and there is a passenger
in the car, the passenger must sit in the
rear seat behind the driver. To enlarge the load compartment, you can fold
t

he seat backrest on the front passenger side for-
wards.
Requirements: = The following seats are unoccupied:
- the rear seat behind the seat backrest that
is folded forwards on the front passenger
side
- the rear centre seat 
To fold forwards: pull r
elease handle 1 and
fold the seat backrest fully forwards onto the

When you adjust a seat, you may trap yourself
or a v
ehicle occupant. 
When adjusting a seat, make sure that
no one has an
y body parts in the sweep
of the seat. &

bench seat, rear seat and seat backrest
are not engaged
The rear bench seat, rear seat and seat back-
r
est may fold forwards, even while the vehicle
is in motion. =
As a r
esult, the vehicle occupant will be
pressed into the seat belt with increased
force. The seat belt will not be able to pro-
tect as intended and could cause addi-
tional injury.
= Objects or loads in the boot or load com-
partment cannot be restrained by the seat
backrest. 
Make sure that the rear bench seat, the
r
ear seat and the seat backrest are
engaged before every trip. If the seat backrests are not engaged and locked
in place, t

he lock veriNcation indicator will be red.
Always ensure that all vehicle occupants have
their seat belts fastened correctly and are sitting
properly. Particular attention must be paid to chil-
dren.
If you no longer require the folded-down seat
backrest as a loading area, fold the backrest back
into place. Requirements:
= The ar

ea into which the seat backrest is folded
is clear.
= To fold the centre seat backrest forwards: the
centre seat backrest has been unlocked.
= The armrest on the second row of seats is fol-
ded back and the cup holders are empty.
Folding the les and right seat backrests forwards
You can fold the centre and outer seat backrests
forwards. 126
