q Notes on AdBlue n
Observe the notes on operating Ouids
( page 451).
AdBlue n
is a water-soluble Ouid for the NOx
exhaust gas asertreatment of diesel engines.
It may be improper or punishable in some coun-
tries to operate a vehicle that uses no AdBlue n
or
one that does not comply with the speciNcations
of these operating instructions.
*NOTE Malfunctions due to the dilution of
AdBlue n
or the use of additive-enhanced
AdBlue n
The function of the NOx exhaust gas
aser-
treatment can be impaired by the use of
unsuitable denoxiNcation agents.
Only use AdBlue n
in accordance with
ISO 22241.Do not dilute AdBlue n
with water.Do not use additive-enhanced AdBlue n
.*NOTE Damage and malfunctions due to
impurities in AdBlue n
Consequences of impurities in AdBlue n
:
= increased emission values
= damage to the catalytic converter
= NOx exhaust gas asertreatment malfunc-
tions
Avoid impurities in AdBlue n
.
AdBlue n
residues crystallise aser a period of
time, and contaminate the surfaces with which
they come into contact. Clean the dirty surfaces
with water as soon as possible.
When you open the AdBlue n
tank, small amounts
of ammonia vapour may escape. Do not inhale any ammonia vapours that may be released. Only
Nll the AdBlue n
tank in well-ventilated areas.
q AdBlue n
Nlling capacity and consumption
ModelTotal capacityAll models23.0 litresAdBlue n
consumption
The average AdBlue n
consumption is between 1%
and 5% of fuel consumption. Like fuel consump-
tion, AdBlue n
consumption is highly dependent
upon driving style and operating conditions. For this reason, your vehicle's actual consumption Ng-
ures under day-to-day operating conditions may
diMer from the consumption Ngures calculated.
The frequency at which you will have to top up
AdBlue n
will also vary. Have the AdBlue n
supply
checked at a qualiNed specialist workshop before
making journeys outside of Europe. Before a lon-
ger stay outside of Europe, consult a qualiNed
specialist workshop.
AdBlue n
range and Nll level
You can have the AdBlue n
range and level dis-
played in the driver's display.
%The AdBlue n
range shown depends strongly
on the driving style and operating conditions.
The actual range can therefore deviate from
the range currently displayed in the driver's display.

Notes on brake Ouid
Observe the notes on operating Ouids
( page 451).
&WARNING Risk of an accident due to
vapour pockets forming in the brake sys- tem
The brake Ouid constantly absorbs moisture
from the air. This lowers the boiling point of
the brake Ouid. If the boiling point is too low,
vapour pockets may form in the brake system when the brakes are applied hard.
This impairs the braking eMect.
Have the brake Ouid renewed at the
speciNed intervals.Have the brake Ouid regularly replaced at a quali-
Ned specialist workshop.
Only use a brake Ouid approved by Mercedes-
Benz according to MB-Freigabe or MB-Approval 331.0.
