To ensure secure operation, only use FAT32

xFAT formatted USB storage devices.

herefore the duration of sin-
gle recording is limited by the limitations of
the USB Oash drive format. So FAT32 format-
ted USB Oash drives do not allow Nles larger
than 4 GB, for example.
When the Nle size is reached, the recording
stops and you receive a notiNcation.

Nles. When the memory is full, recording is
continued automatically. In doing so, other
Nles will be overwritten starting with the oldest
Nle.
Individual recording stops recording when the
memory limit is reached. An individual record-
ing is automatically protected against being
overwritten. 
To start: select Start recording.
The lengt
h of the recording is shown. The Do
not remove the storage medium during
recording. Before removing the storage
medium, eject it first. message appears. The
video Nle is stored on the USB device.

A report may appear in the following cases:

there are only a few minutes recording time
available. The video recording stops or will be
stopped imminently.
Change the USB device or delete a video Nle.
= The camera is not functional, the Camera
unavailable message appears.
Have the camera checked in a Mercedes-Benz
service centre.
= If the country border indication has been
switched on.
= If an outdoor recording is started with the
camera app during a dashcam recording, the
dashcam recording pauses and resumes auto-
matically aser the camera recording is Nn-

If you operate communication equipment inte-

rated in the vehicle when driving, you could
be distracted from the traPc situation. This
could also cause you to lose control of the
vehicle. 
Only operate this equipment when the

If you cannot be sure of this, stop the

ehicle whilst paying attention to road
and traPc conditions and operate the
equipment with the vehicle stationary. &

Mobile communication devices distract the

iver from the traPc situation. This can also
cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle. 
As a driver, only operate mobile commu-

As a vehicle occupant, use mobile com-

vices only in the designa-
ted area, e.g. in the rear passenger com-
partment. You must observe the legal requirements for the
countr

y in which you are currently driving when
operating mobile communication equipment in
the vehicle. &

If objects in the vehicle interior are stowed

holder
s, open stowage spaces and mobile
phone receptacles cannot always retain all
objects within.
There is a risk of injury, particularly in the
event of sudden braking or a sudden change
in direction. 
Always stow objects so that they cannot
be t
hrown around in such situations. 
Always make sure that objects do not
pr

otrude from stowage spaces, luggage
nets or stowage nets. 
Close the lockable stowage spaces

ore starting a journey. 
Always stow and secure heavy, hard,

phone. If the mobile phone supports all the fol-

proNles, the full range of fea-
tures is available:
= PBAP (Phone Book Access ProNle)
- The contacts on the mobile phone are
shown automatically on the multimedia
system.
= MAP (Message Access ProNle)
- The mobile phone message functions can
be used on the multimedia system.
= HFP (hands-free proNle)
- Wireless telephony is available on the mul-
timedia system.
= SAP (SIM Access ProNle)
- The car telephone has access to the SIM
card data and dials into the mobile phone
network via the exterior aerial.
Irrespective of this, Bluetooth n
audio functionality
can by used with any mobile radio unit. For information on the range of functions of the
mobile r adio unit to be connected, see the manu-
facturer's operating instructions.
Network connection:
The following cases can lead to the call being dis-
connected while the vehicle is in motion:
= You switch into a transmission/reception sta-
tion, in which no communication channel is
free.
= The SIM card used is not compatible with the
network available
= A mobile phone with "Twincard" is logged into
the network with the second SIM card at the
same time
The multimedia system supports calls in HD
Voice n
for improved speech quality. A require-
ment for this is that the mobile phone and the
mobile phone network provider of the person you
are calling support HD Voice n
.
Depending on the quality of the connection, the
voice quality may Ouctuate.350

Making an emergency call

To open the cover of SOS button 2 , pr ess it
brieOy. 
Press and hold SOS button 3 f
or at least one
second.
If a Mercedes me call is active, an emergency call
can s
till be triggered. This has priority over all
other active calls.
Information about the Mercedes me call using the
me button
A call to the Mercedes-Benz Customer Centre has
been initiated via the me button in the overhead
control panel or the multimedia system
(  page 352).
Using the voice dialogue system you access the
desired service:
= Accident and Breakdown Management

information about the vehicle

Calling the Mercedes-Benz Customer Centre
using the multimedia system
Requirements: = Access to a GSM network is available.
= The contract partner's GSM network coverage
is available in the respective region.
= The vehicle must be switched on so that vehi-
cle data can be transferred automatically.

The collision de tection service with thes notiN-
cation has been activated on Mercedes me
connect.
If a collision is detected when the tow-away pro-
tection is primed on a locked vehicle, you will
receive a notiNcation in the multimedia system
when you switch the vehicle on.
Find out at a Mercedes-Benz service centre if this
functions is available in your country.
In the event an accident or breakdown is detec-
ted, the emergency guide shows safety notes in
the multimedia system display. This may take a
few seconds.
% The availability of collision detection depends
on t
he vehicle.

vice "Telediagnostics" is active, a similar
prompt can appear aser a delay in the event
of a breakdown. If you are already in contact
with the Mercedes-Benz Customer Centre or
have already received support, this prompt
can be ignored or declined.
% If you answer the prompt for support from the
Mer
cedes-Benz Customer Centre with Call
later, the message will be hidden and appear
again later.
The prompt triggered by the Mercedes me
connect service "Telediagnostics", can either be conNr
med
or declined. Aser being
declined, this will not be shown again.
Arranging a service appointment via a Mercedes
me call
If y

ou have activated the maintenance manage-
ment service, relevant vehicle data is transferred
automatically to the Mercedes-Benz Customer
Centre. You will then receive individual recom-
mendations regarding the maintenance of your
vehicle.
Regardless of whether you have consented to the
maintenance management service, the multime-
dia system reminds you aser a certain amount of
time that a service is due. A prompt appears ask-
ing if you would like to make an appointment. 
To arrange a service appointment: select Call.

our agreement, the vehicle data is
transferred and the Mercedes-Benz customer
centre takes your preferred appointment date.
The information is then sent to your desired
service outlet.
This will contact you to conNrm the appoint-
ment and if necessary consult about the

Data transferred during a Mercedes me call
If you initiate a service call using Mercedes me,
data is transferred to enable targeted advice and
an ePcient service.
The following requirements must be fulNlled for
the transfer of the data:
= The vehicle is switched on.
= The required data transfer technology is sup-
ported by the mobile phone network provider.
= The quality of the mobile connection is suP-
cient.
Multi-stage transfer depends on the following fac-
tors:
= Reason for the initiation of the call
= The available mobile phone transmission tech-
nology. =
The activ
ated Mercedes me connect services.
= The service selected in the voice control sys-
tem.
% A prompt for consent to the data transfer only
occur
s if the corresponding Mercedes me
connect service is not activated.
% The scope of the data transmitted depends on

he vehicle model and equipment. For techni-
cal reasons, not all data is available at all
times.

If Accident and Breakdown Management is called
via the voice control system and no service has
been activated, but the data protection query has
been conNrmed, the following data can also be
called up from the vehicle by the Mercedes-Benz
Customer Centre:

the following data is transmitted to enable targe-
ted advice and an ePcient service:

Only if the respective service is activated will
additional incident-speciNc data be transmitted in
the second stage to enable an optimal service.

these in your Mercedes me user account.
Data processing
The data transmitted within the scope of the call
is deleted from the processing system aser the
call is Nnished, in so far as this data is not being
used for other activated Mercedes me connect
services.
The incident-speciNc data is processed and stored
in the Mercedes-Benz Customer Centre and, if
required to process the incident, forwarded to the service partner authorised by the Mercedes-Benz
Cus tomer Centre. Take note of the data protec-
tion information on the Mercedes me Internet
page https://www.mercedes.me or in the recor-
ded message immediately aser calling the
Mercedes-Benz Customer Centre.

The Mercedes me connect Accident and Break-
down Management and the Mercedes-Benz emer-
gency call centre are available to you around the
clock.
The me button and the SOS button can be found
on the vehicle's overhead control panel
(  page 352).
You can also call the Mercedes-Benz Customer
Centre using the multimedia system
(  page 353).
Please note that Mercedes me connect is a
Mercedes-Benz service. In emergencies, Nrst call
the national emergency services using the stand-
ard national emergency service telephone num-
bers. In emergencies, you can also use the Mercedes-Benz emergency call system
(
 pag
e 363).

Information on Mercedes me connect Accident
and Breakdown Management

In the event of a breakdown or accident, fur-
ther vehicle data is sent which enables optimal
support by the Mercedes-Benz Customer
Centre and the authorised service partner or
breakdown assistance.

Telediagnostics
With the Telediagnostics function, speciNc
wear and failure reports are recorded by the
service provider, in so far as these can be
clearly interpreted and are available through
the monitoring of components that are subject
to diagnostics.
If your vehicle detects a breakdown or threat
of a breakdown, you may be prompted via the
multimedia system to contact the Mercedes-
Benz Customer Centre for further help. This MBUX multimedia system
