You can open and close the side windows
electrically.

From th edriver' sse at you can disable operation

Opening
and closing the windows G
Risk of inju ry Make sure that nobody can become trapped
between the side window and the door frame
as you open the side windows. Do not touch
or lean against the side window during the
opening procedure, ot
herwise you could be
caught between the side window and the door
fr am e by the downwards movem ent of the
side window. If there is a risk of entrapment,
release or press the switch to close the win-
dow. G
Risk of injury Make sure that nobody can become tr
apped
as you close a side window .If there is a risk of
entrapment, releas ethe switch to reopen the
side window. G
Risk of injury Your vehicle can be started using a valid
KEY
LESS GO key. For this reason, children
should never beleft unsupervised in the
vehicle. Always take the KEYLESS GO key
with you, even if you are only leaving the
ve hicle for a short time.
Do not leave children unsupervised in the
vehicle even if they are secured in a child
restraint syst em. The childre ncould:
! injure them selves on parts of the vehicle
! be serious lyor ev enfatally harmed by
prolonged exp osure to heat
! pres sthe central loc king switch,thereby
releasing the child-proof locks, and then
open the doors.
If the children open a door:
! they could cause injury to others
! they could get out of th evehicle, injuring
thems elves as they do so or they could
be injured by passing vehicles Ac
tivate the child-proof locks in the rear and
disable rear operation of the windows
(= page 67) if children are travelling
in the
vehicle. Children could otherwise open a
door or window while the vehicle is in
mo tion, adjus tthe steering wheel manually
or electrically and ther eby injure themselves

6 Pullthe soft top switch twice. Pull it
brie fly the first tim eand then pull and
hold until the side windows have
reached the desired hei ght. Resetting the side windows
The side windows must be reset if the bat-
tery was disconnected or discharged.
i Each side window must be reset separately.
6 Switch on the ignition.
6 Pull switch 1,2 ,3 or4 up until the
wi ndow is closed and hold the switch in
this posit ion for approximately one sec-
ond.
!Onlyopen the sliding /tilting sunroof if itis
free of snow and ice, otherwise malfunctions
may occur.
Do no tallow sharp-edged objects to protrude
th ro ugh the sliding /tilting sunroof. You could
otherwise damage the seals. i
From the outside it is also possible to:
! open the side windows usingth e summer

! closethe side windows using the conve n-
ience closing feature (
=page 184)
Opening and closing the sliding /tilti ng sunroof
The switch is located on the overhead con-
trol panel.
Sliding
/tilting sun roof operation

Risk of injury Make sure that nobody can become trapped
when closing the slidin
g/tilting sunroof. If
danger threatens, release the switch and
press the opening switch.
The sliding /tilting sunr oofglas s coul d break
in an accident.
If the vehicle overturns in an accident, there
is a risk of you being thrown through the
open sunroof ifyo u are not wearing your
seat belt correctly. For this reason, always
fast en your seat belt to reduce the ris kof
injury.
Remove the key from th eignition lock and
take it with you, even if you are only leavi ng

If thesliding /tilti ng sunroof becomes
ob struct edwhen it isbe ing closed automatically,
the closi ngprocedure will be halted and the win-
dow will open a little again.
Raisi ng
The sli ding /tilting sunroof can be raised at
the rear to ventilate the vehicle.
6 Press the swi tch back as far as the
pressure point inthe direction of
arrow 3and hold it there until the
sliding /tilti ng sunroof has moved to
the desired position.
or
6 Briefly press the switch be yond the
pressure point in the direction of arrow
3 and release it.
The sli ding /tilting sunroof is raised at

its current position. Opening and closing the cover
The cover is intended to block out the sun-
light. When you open the sl
iding /tilting
sunroof, the cover automatica lly sli des
bac kwith it.
It is possible to open the cover manually
when the sli ding /tilting sunroof is closed
or raised at the rear. Rain closing feature
The sliding
/tilting sunroof closes auto-
matically:
! when it st arts to rain
! at extreme outs ide temperatures
! after twelve hours
! if there are malfunctions in the power
supply
The sliding /tilting sunroof is then raised at
the rear to continue to ventilate the vehicle
interior.
i The sliding /tilting sunroof does not close if:
! it is rai sed at the rear
! it is blocked
! itis not raining on the windscreen (e.g. if the
vehicl eis under a bridge orin a carport) G
Risk ofinjury If the slidin
g/tilti ngsunroof has been
clo sed using thera in closing featu reand
becomes blocked, it will not open automati-

/tilting sunroof
The slidin g/tilting sunroof mus tbe reset
if:
! the battery was disconnected or dis-
charged
! the sliding /tilti ng sunroof was closed
manual ly(emergency operation)
(= page 343)
! the sliding /tilti ng sunroof can only be
opened with a jerk
! there was a mal function
6 Switch on the ignition.
6 Press the switch ( =pa ge 181) in the
direction of arrow 3unti lthe sliding /
tilting sunroof is fully raised at the rear. 6
Keep the switch pressed for approxi-
mately one secon dafter the sunroof is
raised.
6 Check that the slidin g/tilting sunroof
can (automatically) be fully opened
aga in (
=pa ge 180).
If you cannot (aut omatically) open the
sliding /tilti ng sunroof fully:
6 Reset the slidin g/tilting sunroof.
In warm weather, you may wish to ventilate
the vehicle before driv ing off. To do this,
the remote control can be used to simulta-
neously open:
! the slidin g/tilting sunroof* and
! the side windows

Point the tip of the remote control at
the driver's door handle.
6 Pres s the Œ button on the remote

dows and the slidin g/tilting sunroof*
when you lock the vehicle.
6Point the tip of the remote control at
the driver's door handle.
6 Press the ‹button to lock the vehi-
cle and keep it pressed until the side
windows and sli ding /tilting sunroof*
are fully closed.
6 Make sure that all the side windows
and the slidin g/tilting sunroof* are

The soft top switch is located on the lower
section of the centre console.

6 Apply the pa rking brake ( =page 43).
6 Click the boot separator into place
(= page 188).
6 Close the ski bag cover ( =page 189).
6 Close the boot lid.
6 Switch on the ignition. G
Risk of accident Only drive with the roof fully open or closed.
Ma
ke sure that the roof is locked in place
while you are driving. Otherwise, you could
endanger yourself and oth ers.
If you open or close the soft top at speeds of
over 40 km /h, the soft top may fail to com-
plete its opening or closing procedure. The
soft top could come loo seat high speeds if
it is not prope rlyc lose d. You sho uld there-
fore drive slower than 40 km /huntil the
