AIRSCARFwarmsthe head and neck area ofvehicle occupants withwarmair. Thewarmairflows out ofthevents inthe headrestraints.
Toswitch on/increasethe level:press but‐ton1repeatedly untilthe desired heatinglevel is set.Depending onthe heating level, uptothreeindicator lamps will light up.
Toswitch off/reducethe level:press but‐ton1repeatedly untilthe desired heatinglevel is set.If allthe indicator lamps are off, AIRSCARF isswitched off.
When switching on,the blower willstart uponlyafter a preheating phase lasting afewseconds.After switching off,the blower will continuetorunfor afew secondstocool downtheheating elements.
Ifthevehicle batteryvoltage istoo low,AIR‐SCARF may switch off.
Adjustthe AIRSCARFvent (→page137).
Makesurethatthere are no objects coveringtheintakegrille onthe back ofthe headrestraint.

\nDANGERRisk ofexhaustgas poisoning
Combustion engines emit poisonousexhaustgases such as carbon monoxide. Exhaustgases can enterthevehicle interior ifthetrunk lid is open whenthe engine isrunning,especially ifthevehicle is in motion.
Always switch offthe engine beforeopeningthe trunk lid.
Never drive withthe trunk lid open.

Cornering light
Cornering light function
The cornering light improvesthe illumination oftheroadwayover a wide angle inthe turningdirection, enabling better visibility on tightbends,forexample. It can be activated onlywhenthe low beam is switched on.
The function is active:
RAtspeeds below 25mph (40 km/h) whenthe turn signal light is switched on orthesteering wheel is turned
RAtspeeds between 25mph (40 km/h) and45mph (70 km/h) whenthesteering wheelis turned
Traffic circle and intersection function:thecornering light is activated on bothsidesthroughanevaluation ofthe current GPS position ofthevehicle. Itremains active until afterthevehiclehas leftthe traffic circle orthe intersection.
Adaptive Highbeam Assist
Adaptive Highbeam Assist function

Adaptive Highbeam Assist does notrecog‐nizethefollowingroad users:
RRoad users without lights, e.g. pedes‐trians
RRoad users with poor lighting, e.g.cyclists
RRoad users whose lighting is obstructed,e.g.bya barrier
Onveryrareoccasions,Adaptive HighbeamAssist mayfailtorecognizeotherroad userswiththeirown lighting, or mayrecognizethemtoo late.
Inthese or similar situations,the automatichigh beam is not deactivated or is activateddespitethe presence ofotherroad users.
Always observethe traffic carefully andswitch offthe high beam in good time.
Adaptive Highbeam Assist cannottakeintoaccountroad,weather or traffic conditions.
Detection may berestricted inthefollowingcases:
Rin poor visibility,e.g.fog, heavyrain or snow
Rifthere is dirt onthe sensors orthe sensorsare obscured
Adaptive Highbeam Assist is onlyan aid.You areresponsiblefor adjustingthevehicle's lightingtothe prevailing light, visibility and traffic condi‐tions.

Ifyou come into contact with electro‐lyte, observethefollowing:RRinsethe electrolyte fromyour skinand seek medical attention immedi‐ately.
RIf electrolyte comes into contactwithyoureyes,rinsethemthor‐oughly with cleanwater and seekmedical attention immediately.
RIfthe electrolyte is swallowed,immediatelyrinseyour mouth outthoroughly. Do not inducevomiting.Seek medical attention immediately.
RImmediatelychange out of clothingwhich has come into contact withelectrolyte.

The insiderearview mirror andthe outside mir‐ror onthe driver's side automatically go intoanti-glare mode if light from a headlamp hitsthesensor onthe insiderearview mirror.
System limitations
The system does not go into anti-glare mode inthefollowing situations:

Rreversegear is engaged
Rthe interior lighting is switched on
Function ofthe front-passenger outside mir‐ror parking position
The parking position makes parking easier.
The front-passenger outside mirror tilts down‐wards and shows therear wheel onthe front-passenger side inthefollowing situations:

\nDANGERRisk offatal injury duetopoi‐sonousexhaustgases
Ifthetailpipe is blocked or sufficientventila‐tion is not possible, poisonousexhaustgasessuch as carbon monoxide may enterthevehi‐cle. This isthe case ifthevehiclegetsstuckin snow,forexample.
Keepthetailpipe andthe area aroundthevehicle free from snow whentheengine orthestationary heater arerun‐ning.
Open a window onthe windward side ofthevehicletoensure an adequate sup‐ply of fresh air.
\nWARNINGRisk of accident and injuryduetobeing underthe influence of alco‐hol and drugs while driving
Driving when underthe influence of alcoholand/or drugs is anextremelydangerouscombination. Even smallquantities of alcoholor drugs may affectyourreflexes, perceptionand judgment.
The probability of a serious orevenfatal acci‐dent greatly increases ifyou drive whenunderthe influence of alcohol or drugs.
Do not drink alcohol ortakedrugs whiledriving, and do not allow anyonetodrive who has been drinking alcohol ortaking drugs.
\nWARNINGRisk of accident duetothebrake systemoverheating
Ifyou leaveyourfootonthe brake pedalwhen driving,the brake system mayover‐heat.
This increasesthe braking distance andthebrake system mayevenfail.
Never usethe brake pedal as afootrest.
Do not depressthe brake pedal andtheaccelerator pedal atthe same timewhile driving.
