Depending on whetherthe settingsforthe driveror front passenger seat are selected, onlytheselected seat can bereset.
Foldingthe front seat backrestforwards/back (vehicles with memoryfunction)
With the EASY-ENTRY function,the seat willmoveforwards ifyou havefoldedthe seat back‐restforwards. This makes it easierfor passen‐gerstoget into and out oftherear ofthevehi‐cle.
Tofoldforwards:pull seatrelease handle1andfoldthe seat backrestforwards asfaras it will go.The seat will moveautomaticallytothefore‐most position.
Tofold back:swing backthe seat backresthorizontally.Ifthe seat backrest is not engaged,this willbe shown onthe multifunction display ofthe
instrument cluster.Awarningtone will alsosound.
The seat will moveautomaticallytothestored position.Ifthe set seat position can no longer bereached,e.g. because of luggage intherearfootwell orafter occupants haveenteredtherear ofthevehicle:
Pull seatrelease handle1again andreturnthe seat backresttoan upright position.The seat will lock inthe newfore-and-aftposition.
Switching the seat heating on and off
\nWARNINGRisk of burns duetorepeat‐edly switching onthe seat heating
Repeatedly switching onthe seat heating cancausethe seat cushion and seat backrestpaddingtobecomeveryhot.
The health of persons with limitedtempera‐ture sensitivity or a limited abilitytoreacttohightemperatures may be affected ortheymayeven suffer burn-like injuries.

Whenthe seat heater is switched on,over‐heating can occur duetoobjects or docu‐ments placed onthe seats e.g. seat cushionsorchild seats. This could cause damagetothe seat surface.
Makesurethat no objects or docu‐ments are onthe seats whenthe seatheater is switched on.

The seat heating will automatically switchdown fromthethree heating levels after 8,10and 20 minutes untilthe seat heating isswitched off.

AIRSCARFwarmsthe head and neck area ofvehicle occupants withwarmair. Thewarmairflows out ofthevents inthe headrestraints.
Toswitch on/increasethe level:press but‐ton1repeatedly untilthe desired heatinglevel is set.Depending onthe heating level, uptothreeindicator lamps will light up.
Toswitch off/reducethe level:press but‐ton1repeatedly untilthe desired heatinglevel is set.If allthe indicator lamps are off, AIRSCARF isswitched off.
When switching on,the blower willstart uponlyafter a preheating phase lasting afewseconds.After switching off,the blower will continuetorunfor afew secondstocool downtheheating elements.
Ifthevehicle batteryvoltage istoo low,AIR‐SCARF may switch off.
Adjustthe AIRSCARFvent (→page137).
Makesurethatthere are no objects coveringtheintakegrille onthe back ofthe headrestraint.

Beforestartingthe engine: adjustthedriver's seat,the headrestraint,thesteering wheel orthe mirror andfastenyour seat belt.

Usingthe ashtrayinthe front center console

Thestowage compartment underthe ashtrayis not heatresistant and could be damaged ifyouresta lit cigaretteon it.
Make surethatthe ashtrayis fullyengaged.
Toopen:push up cover2ofthe ashtrayonitsright or left side.
Toremovethe insert:press insert1upwards slightly and pull it out upwards.
Tore-installthe insert:press insert1intothe holder until it engages.
Usingtherear passenger compartment ash‐tray
Toopen:pull cover2outbyitstop handleedge.
Toremovethe insert:pushribbing3fromthe left side and pull insert1upwards andout.
Toinstallthe insert:install insert1fromaboveand press down intothe holder until itengages.
Usingthe cigarettelighter

You can burnyourself ifyoutouchthe hotheating element orthe socket ofthe ciga‐rette lighter.

Lift up socket cap1.
Makesurethat no cables arerunningthrough or secured inthe airbag deploymentarea when usingthe socket. Observethenotes on airbag protection when doingthis(→page 40).

It is possibletomake use oftheresidual heatfromthe enginetocontinue heating orventilat‐ingthe front compartment ofthevehicleforapproximately 30 minutes.

Residual heat is switched off automatically.

IfyouremoveSmartKey1from markedspace2the engine continuesrunning.Forfurthervehiclestarts however,SmartKey1must be located in marked space2duringthe entire journey.
Havethe SmartKey1checked at aqualifiedspecialistworkshop.
Ifthevehicle does notstart:
Place SmartKey1in marked space2andleaveitthere.
Depressthe brake pedal andstartthevehicleusingthestart/stop button.
