Inform Mercedes-Benz as soon as poss
ible
abou tany change in address or vehicl eown-
ership. Correct use
Observe the following info rmation when using
your vehicle:
R the safety notes in this manual
R the "Technical data” section in this manual
R national road traffic regulations
R national road traffic licensing regulations G
Risk of injury
Various warning stickers are affixed to your
vehicle. Their purpose is to draw your atten-
tion, and the attention of others, to various
dangers. Therefore, do not remove any warn-
ing stickers unless the sticker clearly states
that you may do so.
If you remove the warning stickers, you or
others could be injured by failing to recognise
certain dangers. Implied warranty
! Follow the instructions in this manual
about the proper operation of your vehicle
as well as about possible vehicle damage.
Damage to your vehicle that arises from
culpable contraventions against these
instructions are not covered either by
Mercedes -Benz implied warranty or by the
New or Used-Vehicle Warrant yof
Daimler AG. Data stored in the vehicle
Fault data
Compone ntsc ritical for vehicl eoperation are
equipped with fault data memories as stand-
ard. There are also memories dedicated to
storing the technica lreactions of vehicle
component stodriving situations (e.g. the
trigge ring of an airbag ,ESP ®
intervention). This data is used exclusively to:
R assist in the rectification of faults and
defects
R help Mercedes-Benz optimise and develop
vehicle functions
The data cannot be used to trac ethe vehicle's
movements.
When your vehicle is serviced by Mercedes-
Ben z,this technical information can be read
out from the fault memory. Thi sisperformed
by authorised employees of the Mercedes-
Benz service network using special diagnos-
tic computers.
Af teraf ault has been rectified, the informa-
tion is deleted from the memory. Other mem-
ory data is constantly overwritten. Other devices tha
tstore data
Depe nding on the equipment level, your vehi-
cle may featur ecommunication sand/or
entertainment systems (e.g .navigation devi-
ces, telephone systems). Thes eallow you to
save and edit data required for the operation
of the respective device.
Fur ther information on operation (e.g. on
deletin gdata) can be found in the separate
operating instructions. 20

If thes

will accelerate. Acceleration will be interrup-
ted if changin glanes takes too long or the

cle in fron tbecomes too small. G
Risk of accident
DI ST RONIC PLUS and Active Blind Spot Assist
are only an aid designed to assist driving.
The ydon ot relieve you of the responsibility
of payin gattention. The driver remains fully
responsible for the vehicle's distance from
other vehicles, the vehicle's speed and for
braking in good time. Always pay attention to
traffic conditions and your surroundings. Oth-
erwise, you may fail to recognise dangers in
time, cause an accident and injure yourself
and others.
Vehicles with COMAND APS/Audio 50
APS
i The following functions are not available
in all countries.
DISTRONIC PLUS uses additional information
from your navigation system so that it can
react appropriately to certain traffic situa-
tions. This is the case when, following another
vehicle with the help of DISTRONIC PLUS,
you:
R approach or drive through aroundabout
R approach or tur nataTjunction
R turn off at amotorway exit
Even if the vehicle in front leaves the detec-
tion range, DI STRONIC PLUS temporarily
maintains the current driving speed and does
not accelerate. This is base donthe current
ma pd ata in the navigation system. Roundabout (example)
The current spee
dismaintained:
R approximately 10 seconds before reaching
the roundabout/T junction and approx-
imately 1.5 seconds in the roundabout/
after the Tjunction.
R approximately 12 seconds before reaching
am otorway exit and approximately 4sec-
onds after the motorwa yexit
Afterwards ,the vehicle accelerates bac kto
the set speed you specified.
Stopping G
Risk of accident
The DISTRONIC PLUS braking effec tisc an-
celled and the vehicle can start movin gif:
R DISTRONIC PLUS is deactivated using the
cruis econtrol lever.
R you accelera te.
R the syste morthe power supply is disrup-
ted, e.g. due to batter yfailure.
R the electrical system in the engine com-
partmen torthe fuses hav ebeen tampered
with.
R the batter yisdisconnected. G
