When using Smartphone Integ ration, cer tain vehi-
cle data is transfer redto the mobile phone. This
enables youto get the best out of selected mobile
phone services. Vehicle data is not directly acces-
sible.
The following system information is transmitted:
R SoTware release of the multimedia system
R System ID (anonymised) The transfer of
this data is used tooptimise com-
munication between theve hicle and the mobile
phone.
To do this, and toassign se veralve hicles tothe
mobile phone, a vehicle identi/er is random lyge n-
erated.
This has no connection totheve hicle identi/ca-
tion number (VIN) and is dele ted when the multi-
media system is reset (/ page 306).
The following driving status data is transmitted:
R Transmission position engaged
R Distinction between par ked, standstill, rolling
and driving
R Day/night mode of the inst rument display
R Drive type
The transfer of this data is used toalter how con-
te nt is displa yedto cor respond tothe driving sit-
uation.
The following position data is transmitted:
R Coordinates
R Speed
R Compass direction R
Acceleration direction
This data is used bythe mobile phone toimpr ove
th e accuracy of the navigation (e.g. for continua-

Insu1cient network co verage from there leva nt
cont ract partner may result in an emer gency call
not being transmitted.
The vehicle must be switched on before an auto-
matic emer gency call can be made.

em The Mercedes-Benz emer
gency call system can
help todecisively reduce the time between an
accident and the ar riva l of emer gency services at
th e site of the accident. It helps locate an acci-
dent site in places that are di1cult toaccess.
The emer gency call can be made automatically
(/ page 329) or manual ly (/ page 330). Only
make emer gency calls if you or others are in need
of rescue. Do not make an emer gency call in the
ev ent of a breakdown or a similar situation.

Eme rgency calls can still be transmitted. The display only
refers to theve hicle and does
not take account of theav ailability of mobile
phone networ ksand the Mercedes-Benz emer-
ge ncy call centre.
The functional readiness of the emer gency call
system on theve hicle can be seen when the
SOS NOT READY displaydisappears once the
ve hicle is switched on.
R G: The icon appears in the display during
an active emer gency call.
% Ifth ere is a malfunction in the Mercedes-Benz
emer gency call system (e.g. a fault with the
speaker, microphone, airbag, SOS button), a
