Overview of climate control systems
Notes on climate control
An interior
Nlt er in combination with the preNlter
in the engine compartment must always be used
so that the air conditioning system, pollution level
monitoring and the air Nltration work correctly.
Use Nlters recommended and approved by
Mercedes-Benz. Always have maintenance work

rent particulate levels inside and outside of
the vehicle.

Depending on t

he external conditions, improved
cooling and dehumidiNcation of the interior air are
supported when the A/C function is activated. If
it is not possible to operate the A/C function on
the climate bar on the central display, switch the
function on or oM in the climate menu of the cen-
tral display.

If ECO or ECO+ mode is activated, certain climate
contr ol functions will be restricted to conserve
energy and extend the vehicle's range.
The following modes are available on the Climate
menu:
= Comfort: maximum climate comfort
= ECO: while heating and cooling output are
limited, it remains possible to operate climate
control without restriction. If you activate
d, the system will automatically switch to
Comfort mode.
= ECO+: mode using only the blower and waste
heat, if applicable. The temperature can no
longer be adjusted. If you activate d, the
system will automatically switch to Comfort
mode.
% The windows may mist up more when ECO or
EC

O+ mode is activated.
% ECO+ climate mode can also be switched on
and oM via t

he range maximisation button.
When the range maximisation function is
deactivated, the system will automatically
switch to the last selected climate mode. Pressing the temperature or blower display on
t

he climate bar of the central display allows
direct access to the air conditioning menu
when ECO or ECO+ mode is active. The cli-
mate mode can be changed by pressing the
ECO button.
% The vehicle's climate control automatically
de

tects seat occupancy. When the system
switches to ECO or ECO+ mode, the climate
control functions of the unoccupied seats are
further restricted. If you activate d, the
system will automatically switch to Comfort
mode.
% If the vehicle is parked in ECO or ECO+ mode,
it will aut

omatically switch to Comfort mode
the next time it is started. 
Tap on ECO. 
Select Comfort, ECO or ECO+.
If an ECO mode is selected via the air condition-
ing menu, tw
o LEDs will appear on the tempera-
ture display on the climate bar. When ECO mode
is switched on, one LED will light up green on the
temperature display. When ECO+ mode is switched on, both LEDs will light up green and the

When the air conditioning system is switched
on, at leas t one zone is always active. How-
ever, several air distribution options can be
selected at the same time, for example to set
the climate control for the interior and the
footwells simultaneously. In doing so, the
a climate control for the windscreen can
only be selected for the Nrst seat row. When
automatic mode is active, the buttons for set-
ting the air distribution are automatically
deactivated. When the air conditioning system
is switched oM, the buttons remain operable
and the last setting is saved. Setting rear climate control using the air condi-

adopted for each climate zone.

Activating/deactivating the fragrance system

he multimedia system
Requirements: = Automatic climate control is activated.
= The glove compartment is closed.

Air quality
The fr

agrance system distributes a pleasant fra-
grance throughout the vehicle interior from a Oa-
con located in the glove box. 
Navigate down until the climate control bar is
activ

e. 
Select Air freshener. 
Activate or deactivate fragrancing.
Setting the fragrance system using the multimedia
sy
stem
Requirements: = A Oacon is inserted.
= The glove compartment is closed.
= Climate control is activated.

Air quality
The fragrance system distributes a pleasant fra-
grance throughout the vehicle interior from a Oa-
con located in the glove compartment.

If you do not use genuine Mercedes-Benz interior
per fumes, observe the manufacturers' safety noti-
ces on the perfume packaging.
Dispose of the genuine Mercedes-Benz interior
perfume Oacon when it is empty and do not reNll
it.
ReNllable Oacon 
Unscrew the cap of the empty Oacon.
Fill the Oacon wit
h a maximum of 15 ml. 
Screw the cap back onto the Oacon.
Always r
eNll the empty reNllable Oacon with the
same perfume. Observe the separate information

The windscreen can become very hot when

The seats can be brieOy pre-warmed or pre-
cooled before you get into the vehicle.
Depending on the vehicle's equipment, the follow-
ing functions will be activated as needed during
pre-cooling:
= Automatic climate control
= Blower
= Seat ventilation
Depending on the vehicle's equipment, the follow-
ing functions will be activated as needed during
pre-warming: = Automatic climate control
= Blower
= Seat heating
= Steering wheel heater
= Mirror heater
