This enables th e use of selected smartphone
Apps, e.g. navigation or music playbac k. There is
no fur th er interaction between th e smartphone
and th e ve hicle; in particular, ve hicle data is not
directly accessible. The type of fur th er data pro‐
cessing is de te rm ined by th e pr ov ider of th e App
used. The re spective App and yo ur smartphone's
operating sy st em de te rm ine whe th er ch anges
can be made to th e settings and which settings
can be ch anged. Service pr ov iders
Wire less network connection
If yo ur ve hicle has a wireless network connec‐
tion, it enables data to be exc hanged between
yo ur ve hicle and additional sy st ems. The wire‐
less network connection is enabled via th e ve hi‐
cle's transmission and re ception unit or via con‐
nected mobile end devices (e.g. sma rt phones).
Online functions can be used via th e wireless
network connection. This includes online serv‐
ices and applications/Apps pr ov ided by th e
manufacturer or ot her pr ov iders.
Manu fa ctu re r's se rv ices
The manufacturer describes th e re spective func‐
tions and cor re sponding legal data pr ot ection
information when suitable fo r th e manufacturer's
online services. Pe rs onal data may be used fo r
th e pr ov ision of online services. Data is
exc hanged via a secure connection, e.g. to th e
manufacturer's designated IT sy st ems. Pe rs onal
data is collected, processed and used via th e
pr ov ision of services ex clusively on th e basis of
legal permissions or with prior consent. The services and functions (sometimes subject
to a fe e) can usually be activated or deactivated.
In some cases, th is also applies to th e entire
ve hicle's data connection. This exc ludes, in par‐
ticular, legally prescribed functions and services.
Third pa rt y services
If it is possible to use online services from ot her
pr ov iders, th ese services are subject to th e data
pr ot ection and te rm s of use of th e re sponsible
pr ov ider. The man ufacturer has no influence on
th e con te nt exc hanged.
Please enquire, th erefore, about th e type, scope
and purpose of th e collection and use of per‐
sonal data as part of th ird party services from
th eir re spective pr ov ider.
COMAND/mbrace
If th e ve hicle is equipped with CO MAND or
mbrace, additional data about th e ve hicle's oper‐
ation, th e use of th e ve hicle in cer ta in situations,
and th e location of th e ve hicle may be compiled
th ro ugh CO MAND or th e mbrace sy st em.28
