sis mo vements are reduced and driving comfort is
increased.
RO AD SURF ACE SCAN is automatically activated
if th efo llowing conditions are met:
R Drive prog ram ; is not selected.
R Noraised vehicle le vel is set. R
You are driving at a speed between 7 km/h
and 180 km/h.

R Ifth e windscreen in the area of multifunction
camera is dirty, misted up, damaged or co v-

front.
R If sections of thero ute ha veave ry small
ra dius of cur vature.
R During abrupt driving manoeuvres, e.g. heavy

The reve rsing camera monitors the area behind
yo ur vehicle. If you ha veactivated the function
(/ page 317), the image from there ve rsing cam-
era is automatically displa yed in the central dis-
play when reve rsege ar is engaged.
The reve rsing camera is only an aid. It is not a
substitute foryo ur attention tothe sur roundings.
The responsibility for safe manoeuvring and par k-
ing remains with you. Make sure that there are no
persons, animals or objects etc., in the manoeu-
vring area while manoeuvring and parking.
% The area behind theve hicle is displ ayed as a

partially function in thefo llowing situations:
R You are driving forw ards at a speed greater
th an appr oximately 16 km/h.
R The boot lid is open.
R The weather conditions are poor, e.g. heavy
ra in, sno w,fog, storm or spr ay.
R The light conditions are poo r,e.g. at night or if
light is shining into the camera.
R The camera lens is obstructed, dirty or misted
up. Obser vethe no tes on cleaning there ve rs-
ing camera (/ page 433).
R The camera or rear of your vehicle is dam-
aged. In this case, ha vethe camera and its
position and setting checked at a quali/ed
specialist workshop.
R The de tection range is limited byadditional
ve hicle attachments at there ar, such as a

The 360° Camera is a system that consists of
fo ur cameras which co verth e immediate sur-
ro undings of theve hicle. The cameras assist you
when you are parking, forex ample, or at exits with
re duced visibility.
If yo u ha veactivated the function, the image from
th ere ve rsing camera is automatically displa yed in th
e central display when reve rsege ar is selected
(/ page 317).
The 360° Camera includes thefo llowing cameras
and evaluates their images:
R Reversing camera
R Front camera
R Two side cameras in the outside mir rors
The cameras are only an aid and may sh owa dis-
to rted view of obstacles, show them incor rectly or
not show them at all. They are not a substitute for
yo ur attention tothe sur roundings. The responsi-

cally when approaching obs tacles.

ve hicle may be altered if theve hicle is car rying a
heavy load and can result in inaccu racies in the
guide lines and in the display of thege nerated

The /eld of vision and other functions of the cam-
era system may be restric ted due toadditional
attachments on theve hicle (e.g. licence plate
brac ket, bicycle rack ). %
The contrast of the display may be impaired

Pa rking Assist PARKTRONIC is an electronic par k-
ing assistance system which monitors the area
sur rounding your vehicle and sho wsyouth e dis-
ta nce between theve hicle and a de tected obs ta-
cle visual lyand audib ly.
The passive side impact pr otection also warnsyou
of obstacles tothe side. These must be de tected
beforehand bythe sensors in the front or rear
bumper while driving bythem. If you steer in the
direction of a de tected obstacle and there is a risk
