Avoid heavy loads on the engine as you do so, e.g. driving in moun-
tainou st errai na nd stop-and-go traffic.
DYNAMIC SELEC Tb uttonUse the DYNAMIC SELECT button to change the
drive program. Depending on the drive program

Each time you start the engine with the Smart-
Key or the Start/Stop button, drive program C is
activated. For further information about starting

times as necessary until the desired drive
progra miss elected.
The selected drive progra ma ppears in the
multifunction display. After as hort time the displa yg oes out and the status icon of the
selected drive progra ma ppears.
In addition, the current drive progra ms ettings
are displayed briefly in the multimedi as ystem
display.
i In af ew countries, the ECO start/stop func-
tion is deactivated at the factory due to the
available fuel grade. In this case, the ECO
start/stop function is not available in any
drive program, regardless of the displa yint he
multimedi as ystem display.

If you switch the engine off with the transmis-

With the SmartKey: if you then open the driv-
er's door or the front-passenger door or remove
the SmartKey from the ignition, the automatic
transmission shifts to P automatically.
With KEYLESS-GO: if you then open the driver's
or front-passenger door, the automatic trans-
mission shifts to P .
If you want the automatic transmission to
remain in neutral N ,e .g. when having the vehicle
cleaned in an automatic car wash with at owing

Manual gear shifting
General notes You can chang eg ear yourself using the steering
wheel paddle shifters. The transmission must be
in position D .
Depending on which steering wheel paddle
shifter is pulled, the automatic transmission
immediately shift si nt ot he nex tg ear down or
up, if permitted.
To use manual shifting, you have two options: R
temporary setting R
permanen ts etting
If you activate manual gearshifting, the multi-
function display will show the curren tg ear
instead of transmission position D .
If manual gearshifting is deactivated, the gears
will be selected automatically.

To activate: shift the selector lever to posi-

Pull steering wheel paddle shifter C or D .

minimum amount of time is extended, e.g. in the
case of lateral acceleration, during an overrun
