Roadside Assistance. If tire cannot be temporarily repaired using
TIREFIT, contact Roadside Assistance.
Have the damaged wheel repaired or replaced at an authorized
Mercedes-Benz Center.

Check tireThe left rear tire
inflation pressure is
low.Carefully bring the vehicle to a halt.
Check the tires. If no damage visible, check and correct tire
inflation pressure as required.
If necessary, have the wheel repaired or replaced at an authorized
Mercedes-Benz Center.
Warning!G
Do not drive with a flat tire. A flat tire affects
the ability to steer or brake the vehicle. You
may lose control of the vehicle.
Continued driving with a flat tire will cause
excessive heat build-up and possibly a fire.
Warning!G
Have worn or damaged tires replaced in
pairs (front pair or rear pair) an make sure
the tires rotate in the direction specified
(
page 261).
Otherwise, the driving stability of the vehicle
will be adversely affected, especially when
driving at high speeds.

The first aid kit is located on the right-hand
side in the trunk.

The TIREFIT kit, the electric air pump, the
vehicle literature portfolio and the towing
eye bolt are located on the right-hand side
underneath the floor in the trunk.

completeness at least once a year and replace
missing/expired items.
iWhen your SLR is delivered, you will find the
vehicle literature portfolio in the rear storage

portfolio in the storage compartment in the
trunk.
!Your vehicle is equipped with a front towing
eye bolt only.
You cannot tow other vehicles with your vehicle.

If you cannot unlock the trunk with the
SmartKey, open the trunk with the
mechanical key.
The handle is located above the rear

Press locking tab1 in the direction of
arrow and, at the same time, remove
mechanical key2 completely out of
the housing.

Insert the mechanical key in the trunk
lid lock.
Perform the following two steps
simultaneously:
Turn the mechanical key
counterclockwise to the stop, to
position3.
Pull the trunk lid handle and lift the
trunk lid.
iUnlocking the trunk with the mechanical key
will trigger the anti-theft alarm system when the
door is opened.
To cancel the alarm, insert the SmartKey in the
starter switch.

Unlocking in an emergency
Unlocking the driver’s door
If you can no longer lock or unlock the
doors using the SmartKey, unlock the
driver’s door using the emergency release
catch.The emergency release catch is located on
the left side in the trunk.

Pull emergency release catch1.
The door is unlocked.
Open the door in the normal way.
Contact an authorized Mercedes-Benz
Center.
iUnlocking the driver’s door with the emer-
gency release catch will trigger the anti-theft
alarm system.
To cancel the alarm, insert the SmartKey in the
starter switch.
iIf it still is not possible to unlock the door,
pull more firmly on the emergency release catch.

Replacing SmartKey batteries
Replacing SmartKey batteries
If the batteries in the SmartKey are
discharged, the vehicle can no longer be
locked or unlocked. It is recommended to
have the batteries replaced at an
authorized Mercedes-Benz Center.Batteries contain materials that can harm
the environment if disposed of improperly.
Recycling of batteries is the preferred
method of disposal. Many states require
sellers of batteries to accept old batteries
for recycling.
Replacement batteries: Lithium, type
CR 2025 or equivalent.
Remove the mechanical key out of the
SmartKey (
page 355).Warning!G
Batteries contain poisonous and corrosive
substances. Therefore keep the batteries
out of reach of children.
If a battery is swallowed, seek medical help
immediately.
iWhen inserting the batteries, make sure
they are clean and free of lint.
iWhen replacing batteries, always replace
both batteries. The required replacement batter-
ies are available at any Mercedes-Benz Center.

Replacing bulbs
Replacing bulbs
Safe vehicle operation depends on proper
exterior lighting and signaling. It is there-
fore essential that all bulbs and lamp
assemblies are in good working order at all
times.
Correct headlamp adjustment is extremely
important. Have headlamps checked and
readjusted at regular intervals and when a
bulb has been replaced. See an authorized
Mercedes-Benz Center for headlamp
adjustment.!Do not replace the LEDs or bulbs yourself.
You could otherwise damage the vehicle lighting
system or parts of the vehicle. Only have the
LEDs or bulbs replaced by an authorized
Mercedes-Benz Center.
iIf the headlamps are fogged up on the inside
as a result of high humidity, driving the vehicle a
distance should clear up the fogging.
iSubstitute bulbs will be brought into use
when lamps malfunction. Observe the messages
in the multifunction display (
page 341).
iIf one of the following bulbs blows, another
bulb will adopt its function:
Rear turn signals
Brake lamps
Side lamps
Tail lamps
