Location of rear-view camera
The rear-view camera (A) is integrated into
the part near the tailgate handle.
Range of view of rear-view cam- era
How to use the rear-view cam-
era
When you place the gearshift lever or selec-
tor lever in the “R” position with the ignition switch or the operation mode in ON, the view
behind the vehicle will automatically appear on the screen of the DISPLAY AUDIO, the
Smartphone-link Display Audio (SDA) or the Smartphone-link Display Audio (SDA) navi-
gation system. When you move the gearshift lever or the selector lever to any other posi-
tion, the screen will return to its original indi-
cation.
CAUT,ONz The rear-view camera has a special lens that
can make objects shown on the screen ap- pear to be closer or further away than they
actually are.NOTEz Because the rear-view camera has a special
lens, the lines on the ground between park-
ing spaces may not look parallel on the screen.
z In the following situations, the screen indi-
cation may be difficult to see. There is no abnormality.

zRed line (B) indicates approximately
50 cm behind the rear bumper.
z Two Green lines (C) indicate approxi-
mately 20 cm outside of the vehicle
body.
z Short transverse lines (1 to 3) indicate
distance from the rear bumper.Check surroundings for safety.
1. Approximately at the rear edge of the
rear bumper (if so equipped)
2. Approximately 100 cm
3. Approximately 200 cm
NOTEz On vehicles equipped with the Smartphone-
link Display Audio (SDA) or the Smart-
phone- link Display Audio (SDA) naviga-
tion system, it is possible to change the dis-
play language of the screen. For details, please refer to the separated owner

the vehicle to install it.Type 2
When installing the roof carrier, use the brackets (A).
The brackets (A) are located under each roof
drip moulding (B).
Roof carrier precautionsCAUT,ONz Make sure that the weight of the luggage
does not exceed the allowable roof load.
If the allowable roof load is exceeded, this may cause damage to the vehicle.
The roof load is the total allowable load on
the roof (the weight of the roof carrier plus
the weight of luggage placed on the roof car- rier).
For the specific value, refer to “Maximum
roof load” on page 11-06.
z When luggage is loaded onto the vehicle,
please make sure to drive slowly and avoid
excessive manoeuvres such as sudden brak- ing or quick turning.
In addition, place the luggage on the carrier
so that its weight is distributed evenly with the heaviest items on the bottom. Do not load items that are wider than the roof carri-
er.
The additional weight on the roof could raise
the vehicle

Maximum towable weight withbrake and maximum trailer- nose weight
Never exceed the maximum towable weight
with brake and the maximum trailer-nose weight as listed in the specifications.
(Refer to page 11-06.)
If you tow a trailer at an altitude of more than
1,000 m above sea-level, reduce your weight by 10 % of the gross combination weight for
every increase of 1,000 m above sea-level, as
the engine output is lowered owing to de-
crease in atmospheric pressure.

tions

Operating hints
z To prevent the clutch from slipping (Ve-
hicle with a M/T only), do not rev the
engine more than is required when start- ing off.
z Be sure that the driving speed does not
exceed 100 km/h (62 mph) for trailer op-
eration. It is also recommended that you obey the local regulations in case driving
speed with a trailer is limited to less than 100 km/h (62 mph).
z To prevent shocks from the overrun
brake, depress the brake pedal lightly at first and then more strongly.
z To make full use of engine braking,
change to a lower shift point before de- scending a slope.
Additional precautions for vehi-
cles equipped with a CVT
It is recommended the “D” position on slopes
or at low speed.
Use the sports mode in mountainous areas in order to make better use of engine braking
and to assist the brake system. However, be
sure that the speed does not exceed the maxi- mum speed limit for the selected shift posi-
tion.
Overheating
This will normally occur as a result of some
mechanical failure. If your vehicle should overheat, stop and check for a loose or bro-ken water pump/alternator drive belt, a
blocked radiator air intake or a low coolant level. If these items are satisfactory the over-
heating could be caused by a number of me-
chanical causes that would have to be
checked at a competent service centre.
CAUT,ONz If the engine overheats, please refer to the
“Engine overheating” section of “For emer-
gencies” prior to taking any corrective ac-
tion.CAUT,ONz On vehicles equipped with CVT, if the warning display is showing, the temperature
of the CVT fluid is high.
Read the reference page and take the re- quired measures.
Refer to “When a malfunction occurs in the
CVT” on page 6-28.

NOTEz The cool air from the ventilators may appear
as a mist.
This is due to moist air being suddenly
cooled by the air conditioning. This will
clear after a few moments.
z Be careful not to spill drinks, etc., into the
ventilators.
Doing so might cause the air conditioning not to function normally.

Mode selection dial
To change the amount of air flowing from the
ventilators, turn the mode selection dial.
Face position
Air flows only to the upper part of the pas-
senger compartment.
Foot/face position
Air flows to the upper part of the passenger
compartment, and flows to the leg area.
Foot position
Air flows mainly to the leg area.
Foot/demister position
Air flows to the leg area, the windscreen and
the door windows.
Demister position
Air flows mainly to the windscreen and the
door windows.
CAUT,ONz When using the mode selection dial between
the “” and “” positions, prevent fog-
ging by pressing the air selection switch to
select outside air. (Refer to “Air selection
switch” on page 7-05.)NOTEz For vehicles equipped with the Auto Stop &
Go (AS&G) system, the windscreen and
door windows may mist up while the AS&G system is operating. If the windscreen and
door windows mist up, set the mode selec-
tion dial to “
” to demist the windscreen
and door windows.
z With the mode selection dial between the

” and “” positions, the air flows
mainly to the upper part of the passenger compartment. With the mode selection dial
between the “

“” and “” positions, the air flows
mainly to the leg area. With the mode selec-
tion dial between the “
” and “” posi-
tions, the air flows mainly to the windscreen and door windows.
Air conditioning
The air conditioning can only be used while
the engine is running.
CAUT,ONz The engine speed may increase when the air
conditioning is operating.
With an increased engine speed, a CVT ve- hicle will creep to a greater degree than with
a lower engine speed. Fully depress the brake pedal to prevent the vehicle from
creeping.
