. Donot allow anyone toplace theirhands,
legs, orface near thesupplemental side-
impact airbags andsupplemental curtain
side-impact airbags onthe sides ofthe
seatback ofthe front seats ornear theside
roof rails. Donot allow anyone sittinginthe
front seats orrear outboard seatstoextend
their hands outofthe windows orlean
against thedoors. Someexamples ofdan-
gerous ridingpositions areshown inthe
illustrations.
. When sitting inthe rear seats, donot hold
onto theseatback ofthe front seats. Ifthe
supplemental side-impactairbags andsup-
plemental curtainside-impact airbags in-
flate, youmay beseriously injured.Be
especially carefulwithchildren, whoshould always
beproperly restrained.
. Donot use seat covers onthe front seat-
backs. Theymayinterfere withthesupple-
mental side-impact airbag inflations.
Pre-tensioner seatbeltsystem (ifequipped)

Electric powersteering warninglight

electric powersteering warninglightilluminates. After
starting theengine, theelectric powersteering warning
light turns off.This indicates theelectric power
steering systemisoperational.
If the electric powersteering warninglightilluminates
while theengine isrunning, itmay indicate theelectric
power steering systemisnot functioning properlyand
may need servicing. Havetheelectric powersteering
system checked byaNISSAN dealer.
When theelectric powersteering warninglight
illuminates withtheengine running, thepower assist
to the steering willcease operation butyou willstill
have control ofthe vehicle. Atthis time, greater
steering effortsarerequired tooperate thesteering
wheel, especially insharp turnsandatlow speeds.

Engine oilpressure warninglight

When theignition switchisin the ªONº position, the
engine oilpressure warninglightilluminates. After
starting theengine, theengine oilpressure warning
light turns off.This indicates thattheoilpressure
sensors inthe engine areoperational.
If the engine oilpressure warninglightilluminates while
the engine isrunning, itmay indicate thattheengine oil
pressure islow .
Stop thevehicle safelyassoon aspossible. Stopthe
engine immediately andcallaNISSAN dealer.
CAUTION:
. Running theengine withtheengine oil
pressure warninglightilluminated could
cause serious damage tothe engine.
. The engine oilpressure warninglightisnot
designed toindicate alow oillevel. Theoil
level should bechecked usingthedipstick.

Intelligent Key system warning light(if
equipped)

this light comes onfor about 2seconds andthen turns
off.
This light illuminates orblinks asfollows:
. The light blinks inyellow whenthedoor isclosed
with theIntelligent Key left outside thevehicle and
the ignition switchinthe ªACCº orªONº position.
Make surethattheIntelligent Key isinside the
vehicle. .
The light blinks ingreen whentheIntelligent Key
battery isrunning outofpower. Replace the
battery withanew one. (See ªBatteryº (P.8-18) .)
. The light illuminates inyellow whenitwarns ofa
malfunction withtheelectrical steeringlock
system orthe Intelligent Key system.
If the warning lightilluminates inyellow whilethe
engine isstopped, itmay beimpossible tofree the
steering lockortostart theengine. Ifthe light comes
on while theengine isrunning, youcan drive the
vehicle. However inthese cases, contact aNISSAN
dealer forrepair assoon aspossible.
Low fuelwarning light

Depending onthe environment ordriving conditions,
the auto-reverse functionmayactivate ifan impact or

1. While supporting thehood, return thesupport rod
to its original position.
2. Slowly lowerthehood toabout 20to30 cm (8to
12 in)above thehood lock,thenletitdrop.
3. Make sureitis securely latched.
CAUTION:
Before closing thehood, besure torelease the
support rodand store itin position. Otherwise,
the support rodwill bedamaged.
