OPERATING THE POWER LIFTGATE
(if so equipped)
WARNING
∙ Make sure that all passengers havetheir hands, etc., inside the vehicle be-
fore closing the lif tgate.
∙ To help avoid risk of injury or death through unintended operation of the
vehicle and or its systems, including
entrapment in windows or inadver-
tent door lock activation, do not leave
children, people who require the as-
sistance of others or pets unattended
in your vehicle. Additionally, the tem-
perature inside a closed vehicle on a
warm day can quickly become high
enough to cause a significant risk of
injury or death to people and pets. NOTE:
To open, close or reverse the power lif t-
gate, the shif t lever must be in P (Park).
Also, the power lif tgate will not operate if
battery voltage is low. Power Open:
The power lif tgate automatically moves
from the fully closed position to the fully
open position in approximately five – eight
seconds. The power open feature can be
activated by the button on the key fob, the
instrument panel switch or the lif tgate
open switch. A chime sounds to indicate
the power open sequence has been
started.

∙ When the vehicle is locked, the lif tgatecan be opened with the instrument
panel switch or key fob.
∙ The key fob button must be held for 0.5 second before the lif tgate opens.
∙ The lif tgate must be unlocked (or the key fob must be within range) to open
with the lif tgate open switch

A warning chime will sound if the shif t lever
is moved out of P (Park) during a power
open operation. Power Close:
The power lif tgate automatically moves
from the fully open position to the second-
ary position. When the lif tgate reaches the
secondary position, the cinching motor en-
gages and pulls the lif tgate to its primary
latch position. Power close takes approxi-
mately seven – ten seconds. The power
close feature can be activated by the but-
ton on the key fob, the instrument panel
switch or the lif tgate close switch

vated while the cinching motor is en-
gaged, the cinching motor will disen-
gage and release the latch.
∙ The key fob button must be held for 0.5 second before the lif tgate closes.
Stop - Reverse:
During the open/close movement, the lif t-
gate can be stopped, if the Intelligent Key,
instrument panel or lif tgate switch (
Aor
B) is pressed. The lif tgate can be reversed
in the Intelligent Key, instrument panel or
lif tgate switch (
AorB) is pressed again.
Auto Reverse:
If an obstacle is detected during power
open or power close, a warning chime will
sound and the lif tgate will reverse direction
and return to the full open or full close po-
sition. If a second obstacle is detected, the
lif tgate motion will stop and the lif tgate will
enter manual mode.
A pinch strip is mounted on each side of
the lif tgate. If an obstacle is detected by a
pinch strip during power close, the lif tgate
will reverse direction and return to the full
open position.

2. Insert a suitable tool in the top accessopening hole. Move the release lever to
the right. The lif tgate will be unlatched.
3. Push the lif tgate up to open.
NOTE:
If you had to open the lif tgate using this
lever, it is recommended that you have
your vehicle checked as soon as pos-
sible. It is recommended that you visit a
NISSAN dealer for this service.
LIFTGATE POSITION SETTING (if so
equipped)
The lif tgate can be set to open to a specific
height by performing the following: 1. Open the lif tgate using the request switch or the Intelligent Key.
2. Pull the lif tgate down to the desired position and hold the lif tgate (the lif t-
gate will have some resistance when
being manually adjusted).
3. While holding the lif tgate in position, push and hold the lif tgate switch
located on the lif tgate for approxi-
mately 5 seconds or until three beeps
are heard. The lif tgate will open to the selected posi-
tion setting. To change the position of the
lif tgate, repeat steps 1-3 for setting the po-
sition of the lif tgate.
OPENER OPERATION
The fuel-filler door opener switch is located
on the instrument panel. To open, push the
fuel-filler opener switch.
To lock, close the fuel-filler door securely.

will flash twice and the intake air will be
controlled automatically.
Air conditioner button
Start the engine, press thefan control
buttons to the desired position and press
the
button to turn on the air condi-
tioner. To turn off the air conditioner, press
the
button again.
The air conditioner cooling function op-
erates only when the engine is running.
Air flow control
Pressing the MODE button manually con-
trols air flow and selects the air outlet:
— Air flows mainly from center and side vents.
— Air flows mainly from centerand side vents and foot
outlets.
— Air flows mainly from foot out-lets and partly from defroster.
— Air flows mainly from defrosterand foot outlets.
To turn system off
Press the ON-OFF button.
Rear window and outside mirror
(if so equipped) defroster switch
For additional information, refer to “Rear
window and outside mirror (if so equipped)
defroster switch” in the “Instruments and
controls” section of this manual.
OPERATING TIPS
The sunload sensor, located on the top and
center of the instrument panel, helps the
system maintain a constant temperature.
Do not put anything on or around this sen-
sor.

There is a USB/iPod® charging port located
in the center console. This port will charge
compatible devices.
NOTE:
Only the USB connection port located
below the instrument panel will allow
operation of the USB/iPod® devices
through the audio system.The vehicle is equipped with a shark fin
antenna and an antenna pattern is printed
inside the rear window.
CAUTION
∙ Do not place metalized film near the
rear window glass or attach any metal
parts to it. This may cause poor recep-
tion or noise.
∙ When cleaning the inside of the rear window, be careful not to scratch or
damage the rear window antenna.
Lightly wipe along the antenna with a
dampened sof t cloth. When installing a CB, ham radio or car
phone in your vehicle, be sure to observe
the following precautions; otherwise, the
new equipment may adversely affect the
engine control system and other electronic
parts.
WARNING
∙ A cellular phone should not be used
for any purpose while driving so full
attention may be given to vehicle op-
eration. Some jurisdictions prohibit
the use of cellular phones while
driving.
∙ If you must make a call while your ve- hicle is in motion, the hands free cellu-
lar phone operational mode is highly
recommended. Exercise extreme cau-
tion at all times so full attention may
be given to vehicle operation.
∙ If you are unable to devote full atten- tion to vehicle operation while talking
on the phone, pull off the road to a
safe location and stop your vehicle.

OPERATING RANGE
The Intelligent Key functions can only be
used when the Intelligent Key is within the
specified operating range.
When the Intelligent Key battery is almost
discharged or strong radio waves are pres-
ent near the operating location, the Intelli-
gent Key system’s operating range be-
comes narrower and may not function
properly.If the Intelligent Key is within the operating
range, it is possible for anyone, even some-
one who does not carry the Intelligent Key,
to push the ignition switch to start the en-
gine.
The operating range of the engine start
function is inside of the vehicle
1.
∙ The luggage area is not included in the operating range, but the Intelligent Key
may function.
∙ If the Intelligent Key is placed on the instrument panel, inside the glove box,
storage bin or door pocket, the Intelli-
gent Key may not function.
∙ If the Intelligent Key is placed near the door or window outside the vehicle, the
Intelligent Key may function.
PUSH-BUTTON IGNITION SWITCH
POSITIONS
LOCK (Normal parking position):
The ignition switch can only be locked in
this position.
The ignition switch will lock when any door
is opened or closed with the ignition
switched off. ON (Normal operating position):
This position turns on the ignition system
and electrical accessories.
ON has a battery saver feature that will
place the ignition switch in the OFF posi-
tion, if the vehicle is not running, af ter some
time under the following conditions:
∙ All doors are closed.
∙ The shif t lever is in P (Park).
The battery saver feature will be canceled if
any of the following occur: ∙ Any door is opened.
∙ The shif t lever is moved out of the P (Park) position.
∙ The ignition switch changes position.
CAUTION
Do not leave the vehicle with the igni-
tion switch in the ON position when the
engine is not running for an extended
period. This can discharge the battery.
OFF:
The ignition switch is in the OFF position
when the engine is turned off using the
ignition switch. No lights will illuminate on
the ignition switch.

The SPORT mode switch adjusts the en-
gine and transmission points to enhance
performance. Push the SPORT mode
switch on the instrument panel to activate.
The SPORT mode indicator appears in the
vehicle information display.
NOTE:
In the SPORT mode, fuel economy may
be reduced.The ECO mode helps to enhance the fuel
economy by controlling the throttle sensi-
tivity and transmission points.
To turn on the ECO mode, push the ECO
mode switch. The ECO mode indicator light
(on the meter) will remain lit while the
mode is active.
To turn off the ECO mode, push the ECO
mode switch again. The ECO mode indica-
tor light (on the meter) will turn off.The ECO mode cannot be turned off while
the accelerator pedal is depressed, even if
the ECO mode switch is pushed to OFF.
Release the accelerator pedal to turn off
the ECO mode.
The ECO mode will turn off automatically if
a malfunction occurs in the system.
Turn off the ECO mode or depress the ac-
celerator pedal fully when:
∙ Driving with a heavy load of passengers or cargo in the vehicle
∙ Driving on a steep uphill slope
∙ ECO mode may affect air conditioner performance
NOTE:
Selecting this drive mode will not neces-
sarily improve fuel economy as many
driving factors influence its effective-
ness.

LDW SYSTEM OPERATION
The LDW system provides a lane departure
warning function when the vehicle is driven
at speeds of approximately 37 mph
(60 km/h) and above and the lane mark-
ings are clear. When the vehicle ap-
proaches either the lef t or the right side of
the traveling lane, a warning chime will
sound and the LDW indicator light on the
instrument panel will blink to alert the
driver.
The warning function will stop when the
vehicle returns inside of the lane markers.

I-LI SYSTEM OPERATION
The I-LI system operates above approxi-
mately 37 mph (60 km/h). When the vehicle
approaches either the lef t or the right side of
the traveling lane, a warning chime will
sound and the I-LI indicator light (orange) on
the instrument panel will blink to alert the
driver. Then, the I-LI system will automatically
apply the brakes for a short period of time to
help assist the driver to return the vehicle to
the center of the traveling lane.
To turn on the I-LI system, push the dynamic
driver assistance switch (for vehicles without
ProPILOT Assist) or the ProPILOT Assist
switch (for vehicles with ProPILOT Assist) on
the steering wheel af ter starting the
engine/motor. The I-LI indicator light on the
instrument panel will illuminate. Push the dy-
namic driver assistance switch or the ProPI-
LOT Assist switch again to turn off the I-LI
system. The I-LI indicator light will turn off.

the capabilities of the Steering Assist and

ing chime sounds and the I-LI indicator
light (orange) on the instrument panel
flashes to alert the driver. Then, the I-LI sys-
tem automatically applies the brakes for a
short period of time to help assist the
driver to return the vehicle to the center of
the traveling lane. This action is in addition
to any Steering Assist actions.
