Hazard Warning Lamp Do Not Operate But Turn Signal Lamp OperateBKS001PX
1. CHECK CIRCUIT BETWEEN HAZARD SWITCH AND BCM
1. Select “BCM” on CONSULT-II, and select “FLASHER” on “SELECT TEST ITEM” screen.
2. Select “DATA MONITOR” on “SELECT DIAG MODE” screen.
Make sure that “HAZARD SW” turns ON-OFF according to haz-
ard switch operation.
OK or NG
OK >> Replace BCM. Refer to BCS-16, "Removal and Installa-
tion of BCM" .
NG >> GO TO 2.
2. CHECK BCM OUTPUT VOLTAGE
Check voltage between BCM harness connector and ground.
OK or NG
OK >> Replace BCM. Refer to BCS-16, "Removal and Installa-
tion of BCM" .
NG >> GO TO 3.
3. CHECK HAZARD SWITCH
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Remove hazard switch.
3. Check continuity between hazard switch terminals.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 4.
NG >> Replace hazard switch. Refer to LT- 1 7 7 , "
Removal and
Installation" . When hazard switch is in the
ON position : HAZARD SW ON

4. CHECK CIRCUIT BETWEEN HAZARD SWITCH AND BCM
1. Disconnect BCM connector.
2. Check continuity between BCM harness connector (A) and haz-
ard switch harness connector (B).
3. Check continuity between BCM connector and ground.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 5.
NG >> Repair harness or connector.
5. CHECK CIRCUIT BETWEEN HAZARD SWITCH AND GROUND
Check continuity between hazard switch harness connector and
ground.
OK or NG
OK >> Repair connector for connection bend and loose fit.
NG >> Repair harness or connector.

SIDE TURN SIGNAL LAMP
1. Remove side turn signal lamp. Refer to LT- 1 7 5 , "Removal and Installation" .
2. Turn bulb socket counterclockwise and unlock it.
3. Remove bulb.
FRONT TURN SIGNAL LAMP
Refer to LT- 3 5 , "Bulb Replacement" .
REAR TURN SIGNAL LAMP
Refer to LT- 2 1 6 , "Bulb Replacement" .

SIDE TURN SIGNAL LAMP
Removal
1. While pressing side turn signal lamp to direction A (vehicle
front), pull it to direction B and then remove it.
2. Disconnect side turn signal lamp connector.
NOTE:
Support side turn signal lamp harness with tape so that it won't
fall into the front fender.
CAUTION:
Install the side turn signal lamp housing with the bead fac-
ing up.
Installation
Installation is the reverse order of removal.
FRONT TURN SIGNAL LAMP
Refer to LT- 3 6 , "Removal and Installation" .
REAR TURN SIGNAL LAMP
Refer to LT- 2 1 6 , "Removal and Installation" . Side turn signal lamp : 12V - 5W

REMOVAL
1. Remove cluster lid D. Refer to IP-10, "INSTRUMENT PANEL
ASSEMBLY" .
2. Disconnect connector.
3. Remove screw and remove hazard switch integral with center
ventilator grille from cluster lid D.
4. Pawl on rearward and remove hazard switch.
INSTALLATION
Installation is the reverse order of removal.

3. CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN COMBINATION SWITCH AND BCM
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect BCM connector and combination switch connector.
3. Check for continuity between BCM harness connector (A) of the suspect system and the corresponding
combination switch connector (B).
4. Check for continuity between each of BCM harness connector in suspect malfunctioning system and
ground.
OK or NG
OK >> Check BCM input/output signal of malfunctioning input/output.
Input: GO TO 4.
Output: GO TO 5.
NG >> Repair harness or connector.

4. CHECK BCM INPUT SIGNAL
1. Connect BCM connector and combination switch connector.
2. Turn ignition switch ON.
3. Lighting switch and wiper switch are turned OFF.
4. Set wiper intermittent dial position 4.
5. Check BCM input terminal voltage waveform of suspect mal-
functioning system.
OK or NG
OK >> Replace BCM. Refer to BCS-16, "Removal and Installation of BCM" .
NG >> Open circuit in combination switch, GO TO 6.
5. CHECK BCM OUTPUT SIGNAL
1. Connect BCM connector and combination switch connector.
2. Turn ignition switch ON.
3. Lighting switch and wiper switch are turned OFF.
4. Set wiper intermittent dial position 4.
5. Check BCM output terminal voltage waveform of suspect mal-
functioning system.
OK or NG
OK >> Open circuit in combination switch, GO TO 6.
NG >> Replace BCM. Refer to BCS-16, "
Removal and Installation of BCM" .

Removal
1. Remove rear parcel shelf finisher. Refer to EI-43, "Removal and Installation" .
2. Disconnect high-mounted stop lamp connector.
3. Remove high-mounted stop lamp mounting screws and remove
high-mounted stop lamp from rear parcel shelf finisher.
Installation
Note the following, and installation is the reverse order of removal.

BCM (Body Control Module) controls parking, license plate and tail lamps operation.
IPDM E/R (Intelligent Power Distribution Module Engine Room) operates parking, license plate and tail
lamps according to CAN communication signals from BCM.
Unified meter and A/C amp. operates tail lamp indicator according to CAN communication signals from
BCM.
OUTLINE
Power is supplied at all times
to ignition relay (located in IPDM E/R), from battery direct,
through 15A fuse (No. 71, located in IPDM E/R)
to tail lamp relay (located in IPDM E/R) and
to CPU (central processing unit) in IPDM E/R,
through 15A fuse (No. 78, located in IPDM E/R)
to CPU in IPDM E/R,
through 50A fusible link (letter M, located in fuse and fusible link block)
to BCM terminal 55,
through 15A fuse [No. 17, located in fuse block (J/B)]
to BCM terminal 42 and
to combination meter terminal 7,
through 10A fuse [No.19, located in fuse block (J/B)]

1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect IPDM E/R connector, front combination lamp RH and LH connectors, rear combination lamp
RH and LH connectors and licence plate lamp RH and LH connectors.
3. Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and
front combination lamp harness connector.
4. Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector (A) and
rear combination lamp harness connector (B).
5. Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector (A) and
license plate lamp harness connector (B).
6. Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector (A) and
ground.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 5.
NG >> Repair harness or connector.
