PARKING, LICENSE PLATE AND TAIL LAMPS

5. CHECK IPDM E/R OUTPUT VOLTAGE
With CONSULT-II
1. Connect IPDM E/R connector.
2. Select “IPDM E/R” on CONSULT-II and select “ACTIVE TEST” on “SELECT DIAG MODE” screen.
3. Select “TAIL LAMP” on “SELECT TEST ITEM” screen.
4. Touch “ON” screen.
5. When parking, license plate and tail lamps is operating, check
voltage between IPDM E/R harness connector and ground.
Without CONSULT-II
1. Connect IPDM E/R connector.
2. Start auto active test. Refer to PG-21, "
Auto Active Test" .
3. When parking, license plate and tail lamps is operating, check voltage between IPDM E/R harness con-
nector and ground.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 6.
NG >> Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to PG-28, "
Removal and Installation of IPDM E/R" .

6. CHECK CIRCUIT BETWEEN PARKING, LICENSE PLATE, TAIL LAMPS AND GROUND
1. Check continuity between front combination lamp harness con-
nector and ground.
2. Check continuity between rear combination lamp harness con-
nector and ground.
3. Check continuity between license plate lamp harness connector
and ground.
OK or NG
OK >> Check bulbs.
NG >> Repair harness or connector.

Parking, License Plate and Tail Lamps Do Not Go OFFBKS002FT
1. CHECK IPDM E/R FUNCTION
Make sure that lighting switch is OFF. And then check if ignition switch is ON or OFF when parking, license
plate, and tail lamps go OFF.
Check results
Lamps go OFF when ignition switch is ON>>Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to PG-28, "Removal and Installation
of IPDM E/R" .
Lamps go OFF when ignition switch is OFF>>GO TO 2.
Lamps do not go OFF when ignition switch is ON and OFF.>>GO TO 4.
2. CHECK BCM INPUT SIGNAL
1. Select “BCM” on CONSULT-II, and select “HEAD LAMP” on “SELECT TEST ITEM” screen.
2. Select “DATA MONITOR” on “SELECT DIAG MODE” screen.
Make sure that “IGN ON SW” turns ON-OFF according to igni-
tion switch operation.
OK or NG
OK >> Replace BCM, refer to BCS-16, "Removal and Installa-
tion of BCM" or IPDM E/R, refer to PG-28, "Removal
and Installation of IPDM E/R" .
NG >> GO TO 3.
3. CHECK BCM POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect BCM connector.
3. Check voltage between BCM harness connector and ground.
OK or NG
OK >> Replace BCM. Refer to BCS-16, "Removal and Installation of BCM" .
NG >> Repair harness or connector.When ignition switch is in
the ON position: IGN ON SW ON
When ignition switch is in
the OFF or ACC position: IGN ON SW OFF

LICENSE PLATE LAMP
1. Remove trunk lid finisher inner. Refer to EI-59, "REMOVAL AND
INSTALLATION FOR TRUNK LID FINISHER INNER" .
2. Turn bulb socket counterclockwise and unlock it.
3. Remove bulb from its socket.
PARKING LAMP
Refer toLT- 3 5 , "Bulb Replacement" .
TAIL LAMP
Refer to LT- 2 1 6 , "Bulb Replacement" .

LICENSE PLATE LAMP
Removal
1. Remove trunk lid finisher. Refer to EI-33, "Removal and Installa-
tion" .
2. While pressing the license plate lamp to left side, pull right side
of it and remove.
3. Disconnect license plate lamp connector.
Installation
Installation is the reverse order of removal.
PARKING LAMP
Refer to LT- 3 6 , "Removal and Installation" .
TAIL LAMP
Refer to LT- 2 1 6 , "Removal and Installation" . License plate lamp : 12V - 5W

REAR COMBINATION LAMP

REAR TURN SIGNAL LAMP BULB, BACK-UP LAMP BULB AND STOP/TAIL LAMP BULB
1. Open trunk, and then remove trunk wheel house finisher. Refer to EI-58, "Removal and Installation for
Trunk Room Trim" .
2. Turn tail lamp bulb socket (1), rear turn signal lamp bulb socket
(2), back-up lamp bulb socket (3) (right side) and rear fog lamp
bulb socket (3) (left side) counterclockwise and unlock it.
3. Remove tail lamp bulb (4), rear turn signal lamp bulb (5), back-
up lamp bulb (6) (right side) and rear fog lamp bulb (6) (left
side).

REMOVAL
1. Open trunk, and then remove trunk wheel house finisher. Refer to EI-58, "Removal and Installation for
Trunk Room Trim" .
2. Disconnect rear combination lamp connector.
3. Remove rear combination lamp mounting nuts (A).
4. Pull the rear combination lamp (1) toward rear of the vehicle and
remove clip (B) and locating pin (C) from the vehicle.
5. Remove seal packing (2) from rear combination lamp (1).
INSTALLATION
Installation is the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION:
Seal packing cannot be reused.Tail lamp : 12V - 5W
Rear turn signal lamp : 12V - 21W
Back-up lamp (Right side) : 12V - 21W
Rear fog lamp (Left side) : 12V - 21W
Stop lamp : LED

BCM (Body Control Module) controls the step lamp, the trunk room lamp, the interior room lamp timer and the
interior room lamp battery saver.
OUTLINE
Power is supplied at all times (without Intelligent Key system)

through 15A fuse [No. 17, located in fuse block (J/B)]

to key switch and key lock solenoid (key switch) terminal 1 and

to BCM terminal 42,

through 50A fusible link (letter M, located in fuse and fusible link block)

to BCM terminal 55.

CHECK POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT
1. CHECK FUSES AND FUSIBLE LINK
Check for blown fuses and fusible link.
Refer to LT-225, "Wiring Diagram — ROOM/L —" .
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 2.
NG >> If fuse or fusible link is blown, be sure to eliminate cause of malfunction before installing new fuse
or fusible link. Refer to PG-3, "
POWER SUPPLY ROUTING CIRCUIT" .
2. CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect BCM connector.
3. Check voltage between BCM connector and ground.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 3.
NG >> Repair harness or connector.
3. CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT
Check continuity between BCM and ground.
OK or NG
OK >> INSPECTION END
NG >> Repair harness or connector.

1. PERFORM BCM ACTIVE TEST
1. Set map lamp switch, personal lamp RH and LH switch in the DOOR position.
2. Select “BCM ” on CONSULT-II, and select “INT LAMP” on “SELECT TEST ITEM” screen.
3. Select “ACTIVE TEST” on “SELECT DIAG MODE” screen.
4. Select “INT LAMP” on “SELECT TEST ITEM” screen.
5. Touch “ON” screen.
6. Check map lamp, personal lamp RH and LH operation.
OK or NG
OK >> Replace BCM. Refer to BCS-16, "Removal and Installa-
tion of BCM" .
NG >> GO TO 2.
2. CHECK BCM INPUT VOLTAGE
Check voltage between BCM harness connector and ground.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 3.
NG >> GO TO 4.Map lamp, personal lamp RH and LH should operate

3. CHECK INTERIOR ROOM LAMPS GROUND CIRCUIT
With CONSULT-II
1. Set map lamp switch, personal lamp RH and LH switch in the DOOR position.
2. Select “BCM ” on CONSULT-II, and select “INT LAMP” on “SELECT TEST ITEM” screen.
3. Select “ACTIVE TEST” on “SELECT DIAG MODE” screen.
4. Select “INT LAMP” on “SELECT TEST ITEM” screen.
5. Touch “ON” screen.
6. When map lamp switch, personal lamp RH and LH are operat-
ing, check voltage between BCM harness connector and
ground.
Without CONSULT-II
1. Set map lamp switch, personal lamp RH and LH switch in the
DOOR position.
2. Open the driver door.
3. When map lamp switch, personal lamp RH and LH are operating, check voltage between BCM harness
connector and ground.
OK or NG
OK >> Repair connector for connection, bend and loose fit.
NG >> Replace BCM. Refer to BCS-16, "
Removal and Installation of BCM" .

4. CHECK CIRCUIT BETWEEN BCM AND INTERIOR ROOM LAMPS
1. Disconnect map lamp connector, personal lamp (RH and LH) connector and ignition keyhole illumination
connector.
2. Check continuity between BCM harness connector (A) and map
lamp harness connector (B).
3. Check continuity between BCM harness connector (A) and per-
sonal lamp (RH and LH) harness connector (B).
4. Check continuity between BCM harness connector (A) and igni-
tion keyhole illumination connector (B).
5. Check continuity between BCM harness connector (A) and
ground.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 5.
NG >> Repair harness or connector.
