light blinks, thesystem isnot engaged.
If the indicator lightdoes notilluminate orblink when
the hilldescent controlswitchison, the system may
not befunctioning properly.Have thesystem checked

Hill Start Assist system onindicator

or Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT)

. Incorrect settingofthe engine control sys-
tem may lead tonon-compliance oflocal
and national emission lawsandregulations.
When theignition switchisin the ªONº position, the
Malfunction IndicatorLight(MIL) illuminates. After
starting theengine, theMIL turns off.This indicates
that theengine control system and/orCVTsystem is
operational.
If the MIL illuminates whiletheengine isrunning, itmay
indicate thattheengine control system isnot
functioning properlyandmay need servicing. Have
the vehicle checked, andifnecessary repaired,bya
NISSAN dealerpromptly . If
the MIL blinks (ifequipped) whiletheengine is
running, itmay indicate apotential malfunction inthe
emission controlsystem. Inthis case, theemission
control system maynotfunction properly andmay need
servicing. Havethesystem checked, andifnecessary
repaired, byaNISSAN dealerpromptly .

(25 MPH) andabove. Ifan oncoming vehicleorleading
vehicle appears infront ofyour vehicle whenthe
headlight highbeam ison, the headlight willbe
switched tothe low beam automatically .
Precautions onhigh beam assist:

. The high beam assist system isaconve-
nience butitis not asubstitute forsafe
driving operation. Thedriver should remain
alert atall times, ensure safedriving prac-
tices andswitch thehigh beam andlow
beam manually whennecessary.
. The high beam orlow beam maynotswitch
automatically underthefollowing condi-
tions. Switch thehigh beam andlowbeam
manually.
Ð During badweather (rain,fog,snow,
wind, etc.).
Ð When alight source similar toahead-
light ortail light isin the vicinity ofthe
vehicle.
Ð When theheadlights ofthe oncoming
vehicle orthe leading vehicleareturned
off, when thecolor ofthe light is
affected duetoforeign materials on
the lights, orwhen thelight beam is
out ofposition.

image sensor.
. Donot strike ordamage theareas around the
ambient imagesensor. Donot touch thesensor
lens thatislocated onthe ambient imagesensor.

driving straight. Donot operate the4WD

reflector foralong period oftime asdust,
moisture andsmoke mayenter theheadlight
body andaffect theperformance ofthe
headlight.
Aiming adjustment isnot necessary ifonly thebulbs
are replaced. Whenaiming adjustment isnecessary ,
contact aNISSAN dealer.
Fog may temporarily forminside thelens ofthe exterior
lights inthe rain orinacar wash. Atemperature
difference betweentheinside andtheoutside ofthe
lens causes thefog. This isnot amalfunction. Iflarge
drops ofwater collect insidethelens, contact a
NISSAN dealer.
