The tone sound andthesensor indicator displaycan
be turn on/off, andthevolume ofthe tone sound and
the sensor detection rangecanbeadjusted. (See

WARNING:
. The corner sensor function isnot designed
to prevent theobject.
. The colors ofthe corner sensor indicator and
the distance guidelinesinthe front/rear
view indicate different distances tothe

The MOD system detects movingobjects byusing
image processing technologyonthe image shown on
the display .The rear view camera isequipped withthe
automatic washerfunction usingwindow washerfluid.
The MOD system operates inthe following conditions
when thecamera viewisdisplayed:
. When theshift lever isin the ªPº (Park) orªNº
(Neutral) position(CVTmodel) orthe shift lever is
out ofthe ªRº (Reverse) position(MTmodel) and
the vehicle isstopped, theMOD system detects
the moving objects inthe bird's-eye view.The MOD
system willnotoperate ifthe outside mirror
is moving inor out orifeither doorisopened.
. When theshift lever isin the ªDº (Drive) position
(CVT model) orthe shift lever isout ofthe ªRº

WARNING:
. The MOD system isnot asubstitute for
proper vehicle operation anddoes notpre-
vent contact withtheobjects surrounding
the vehicle. Whenmaneuvering, alwaysuse
the outside mirrorandinside rearview mirror
and turn andlook tocheck thesurroundings
to make sureitis safe tomaneuver.
. The system isdeactivated atspeeds above
10 km/h (6MPH) .It is reactivated atlower
speeds.
. The system isnot designed toprevent
contact withallobjects.
. The MOD system isnot designed todetect

Camera maintenance

side ofthe front bumper (parallel mode).Screen
guidance forthe shift lever operation isalso provided
during theparking maneuvers.
WARNING:
. PA is designed tosupport thedriver's
steering wheeloperation inaparking lot.It
does notautomatically lowerthevehicle
speed oravoid contact withobjects. As
when performing ordinaryparkingmaneu-
vers, always lookoutthewindows andcheck
with your owneyes tobe sure thatthe
surrounding androad conditions aresafe for
the maneuvers beforeoperating thevehicle.
Operate thevehicle slowlyduring thepark -
ing maneuvers. Ifthe vehicle getsclose to
people orobjects nearthevehicle, avoid
making contactbyusing thebrakes and
performing othermaneuvers.
. Do not touch thespoke ofthe steering
wheel whilethePA is operating. Itcould cause
injuries tohands orfingers. Keep
neckties, scarves.etc.away fromthesteer-
