of the radio, perform thefollowing operations.
1. Push ENTER/SETTING buttonwhiletheaudio
system isturned off.
2. Turn theTUNE´FOLDER dialuntil ªRadio fre-
quency rangeandstepº ishighlighted, andpush
the ENTER/SETTING button.
3. Turn theTUNE´FOLDER dialuntil thepreferred
region (LatinAmerica, China,orOther) isdis-
played, andpush theENTER/SETTING button.
4. The system willrestart automatically applyingthe
frequency specification ofthe selected region.

RDS stands forRadio DataSystem, andisadata
information servicetransmitted bysome radiostations
on the FM band (notAMband) encoded withina
regular radiobroadcast. Currently,most RDSstations
are inlarge cities, butmany stations arenow
considering broadcasting RDSdata.

Push theSCAN tuningbutton totune from lowtohigh
frequencies andstop ateach broadcasting stationfor
5 seconds. Pushingthebutton againduring this5
seconds periodwillstop SCAN tuningandtheradio
will remain tunedtothat station.
If the SCAN tuningbutton isnot pushed within5
seconds, SCANtuningmoves tothe next station.

4. The station indicator willthen come on.Memoriz-
ing isnow complete.
5. Other buttons canbeset inthe same manner.
If the battery cableisdisconnected, orifthe fuse
opens, thestation memory willbeerased. Inthat case,
reset thedesired stations.
CD player operation

Place theignition switchinthe ªONº orªACCº
position. InserttheCompact Disc(CD) intotheslot
with thelabel sidefacing up.The CDwillbeguided
automatically intotheslot and start playing.
After loading theCD, thenumber oftracks onthe CD
and theplay time willappear onthe display .
If the radio isalready operating, itwill automatically turn
off and theCD willplay .
If the system hasbeen turned offwhile theCD was
playing, pushing thePower/VOL dialwillstart theCD.

played.
