when properly restrained inthe rear seat
than inthe front seat.

. Follow allofthe child restraint manufac-
turer's instructions forinstallation anduse.
When purchasing achild restraint, besure to
select onewhich willfityour child and
vehicle. Itmay notbepossible toproperly
install sometypesofchild restraint inyour
vehicle.
. The direction ofthe child restraint, either
front-facing orrear-facing, dependsonthe
type ofthe child restraint andthesize ofthe
child. Refer tothe child restraint manufac-
turer's instructions fordetails.
. Adjustable seatbacksshouldbepositioned
to ensure fullcontact between childrestraint
and seatback.
. After attaching achild restraint, testit
before youplace thechild init.Push itfrom
side toside andtugitforward tomake sure
that itis held securely inplace. Thechild
restraint shouldnotmove morethan25mm
(1 in).If the restraint isnot secure, tighten
the belt asnecessary, orinstall therestraint
in another seatandtest itagain.
. When thechild restraint isnot inuse, keep it
secured withtheISOFIX childrestraint
system oraseat belttoprevent itfrom
being thrown around incase ofasudden
stop oraccident.
. Never install arear-facing childrestraint on
the front passenger's seatwhen thefront
passenger's airbag isavailable. Supple-
mental front-impact airbags inflate with
great force. Arear-facing childrestraint

. Ifthe seat beltinthe position whereachild
restraint isinstalled requiresalocking
device andifit is not used, injuries could
result fromachild restraint tippingover

CAUTION:

surface andbuckles beforeplacing yourchild in

This isto prevent anybody frombeing
trapped insidethevehicle through the
Supper LockSystem activation.
Locking thedoors withtheremote controller, the
Intelligent Key (ifequipped) orthe key willlock all
doors including theback doorandactivate theSuper
Lock System.
This means thatnone ofthe doors canbeopened from
the inside inorder toprevent theft. The
system willbereleased whenthedoor isunlocked
with theremote controller, IntelligentKey (ifequipped)
or key .
The Super LockSystem willnot activate whenthe
doors arelocked withthepower doorlockswitch.
Emergency situations

accident orother unexpected circumstances whileyou

. Remove thekey from theignition switchand
unlock thedoor using theremote controller orthe

controller. Theremote controller canoperate ata

vehicle. Theoperating distancedepends uponthe
conditions aroundthevehicle.
As many as4remote controllers canbeused withone
vehicle. Forinformation aboutthepurchase anduseof
additional remotecontrollers, contactaNISSAN deal-
er.
The remote controller willnotfunction underthe
following conditions:
. When thedistance between theremote controller
and vehicle ismore thanapproximately 1m (3.3
ft) .
. When theremote controller batteryisdischarged.
. When thekey isin the ignition switch.
CAUTION:
. When locking thedoors usingtheremote
controller, besure nottoleave thekey inthe
vehicle.
. Donot allow theremote controller, which
contains electrical components, tocome
into contact withwater orsalt water. This
could affect thesystem function.
. Donot drop theremote controller.
. Donot strike theremote controller sharply
against another object.
. Donot place theremote controller foran
extended periodinan area where tempera-
