Safety

Deactivation
This warning lamp comes on in theinstrument panel when the ignition is
on and until the airbag is reactivated.
To assure the safety of your child,the passenger's front airbag must be deactivated when you install a "rear facing" child seat on the front passenger seat.Other wise, the child would risk beingseriously injured or killed if the airbag were deployed.


If even one of the two airbag warning lamps comes on continuously, donot install a child seat on the frontpassenger seat.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or qualified workshop.

Reactivation
When you remove the child seat, with the ignition on , turn the switch to the "ON"position to reactivate the airbag and so assure
the safety of your front passenger in the event
of an impact.

Operating fault
If this warning lamp comes on in the instrument panel, accompanied byan audible warning and a message
in the screen, contact a PEUGEOT
dealer or a qualified workshop to have the system checked. The airbags may no longer be
deployed in the event of a serious impact.
If this warnin
g lamp flashes, contacta PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified
workshop. The passenger's front airbag may no longer be deployed in
the event of a serious impact.
Only the passenger's front airbag can be deactivated:)Inser t the key into the passenger airbag deactivation switch,)turn it to the "OFF"position, )then, remove the key keeping the switch in
the new position.

Removing a wheel

Parking the vehicle

Immobilise the vehicle where it does notblock traffic: the ground must be level,stable and not slippery. Apply the parking brake, switch off the
ignition and engage first gear *
to blockthe wheels. Check that the parking brake warninglamps in the instrument panel come on.
The occupants must get out of the vehicle and wait where they are safe.
Never go underneath a vehicle raised using a jack; use an axle stand.

Remove the bolt cover from each of
the bolts using the tool 3(according toequipment). ) Fit the security socket 4
on thewheelbrace 1
to slacken the security bolt (if fitted).)
Slacken the other bolts using the

Changing dipped beam headlampbulbs
) Remove the protective cover by pulling on
the tab. ) Disconnect the bulb connector.)
Spread the spring to release the bulb.)
Extract the bulb and change it.


Amber coloured bulbs, such as thedirection indicators, must be replacedwith bulbs of identical specificationsand colour.
When refitting, close the protective cover carefully to preser ve the sealing of the headlamp.


Rapid flashing of the direction indicator warning lamp (right or left) indicates thefailure of a bulb on that side.
Changing direction indicator bulbs

To reassemble, carry out these operations in
reverse order, positioning the alignment lug at
the bottom.
)Turn the bulb holder an eighth of a turn anti-clockwise and extract it.)Remove the bulb and change it.
To reassemble, carry out these operations inreverse order.

Driving advice
Distribution of loads
)Distribute the load in the trailer so that theheaviest items are as close as possible to
the axle and the nose weight approaches the maximum permitted without exceeding it.
Air density decreases with altitude, thus reducing engine performance. Above1 000 metres, the maximum towed load must
be reduced by 10 % for every 1 000 metres of altitude.
Side wind
)Take into account the increased sensitivity
to side wind.

Cooling

To w i ng a trailer on a slope increases the
temperature of the coolant.
As the fan is electricall
y controlled, its cooling capacity is not dependent on the engine speed.)
To lower the engine speed, reduce your speed.
The maximum towed load on a long incline
depends on the gradient and the ambient
tem
perature.
In all cases, keep a check on the coolant
temperature.
)If the warning lamp and the
STOP warning lamp come on, stop the vehicle and switch off
the engine as soon as possible.



Braking

To w i ng a trailer increases the braking distance.
To avoid overheating of the brakes on a longmountain type of descent, the use of engine braking is recommended.

Tyres
)Check the tyre pressures of the towingvehicle and of the trailer, obser ving the recommended pressures.



Lighting
)Check the electrical lighting and signalling on the trailer.


The rear parking sensors will be deactivated automatically if a genuine PEUGEOT towbar is used.

Practical information
The fitting of electrical equipment or accessories which are not recommended by PEUGEOT may resultin a failure of your vehicle's electronicsystem and excessive electrical consumption. Please note this precaution. Youare advised to contact a PEUGEOTrepresentative to be shown the range of recommended equipment and accessories.


Installation of radio communication transmitters

Before installing any after-market radio communication transmitter, you can contact a PEUGEOT dealer for the specification of transmitters which canbe fitted (frequency, maximum power, aerial position, specific installationrequirements), in line with the VehicleElectromagnetic Compatibility Directive(2004/104/EC).




Depending on the legislation in forcein the country, it may be compulsory to have a high visibility safety vest,warning triangle and spare bulbs andfuses available in the vehicle. B
y visiting a PEUGEOT dealer, you can also
obtain products for cleaning and maintenance (exterior and interior) - including ecological products in the "TECHNATURE" range, toppingup products (screenwash...), touch-up pens and paint aerosols for the exact colour of your
vehicle, refills (cartridge for the temporary puncture repair kit...), ...



"Multimedia":

audio systems, por table satellite navigationsystems, semi-integral suppor t for por tablesatellite navigation system, hands-free kit, speakers, DVD player, connection kit for MP3

Low fuel level
When the fuel tank minimum level is reached this warning lamp comes on in the instrument panel. There remainsapproximately 5 litres
of fuel in the tank.
When the warning lamp flashes there is very little fuel remaining in the tank.
The key cannot be removed from the lock until the cap is refitted. Removing the filler cap may cause an inrush of air. This vacuum is per fectly normal and results from the sealing of
the system.



























Fuel tank
Fuel tank capacity: approximately 50 litres.

A self-adhesive label on the inner face of thefiller flap reminds you of the type of fuel to use
depending on your engine.
Additions of fuel must be of at least 5 litres to be registered by the fuel gauge.


Filling


To fill the tank safely: )the engine must be switched off,)open the fuel filler flap by pressing at
its rear, )inser t the key in the cap, then turn it to
the left,
With Stop & Star t, never refuel with the system in STOP mode; you must switch off the ignition with the key.
)remove the cap and hook it onto the cliplocated on the inside of the flap, )fill the tank, but do not continue after the
3rd cut- off of the pump ; this could causemalfunctions. You must re
fuel as soon as possible to avoid running out of fuel.
If you run out of fuel (Diesel), refer to the
"Running out of fuel - Diesel" section.

Checks
Avoid prolonged contact of used oil or fluids with the skin. Most of these fluids are harmful to
health or indeed very corrosive.
Do not discard used oil or fluids intosewers or onto the ground. Take used oil to a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop (France) or to an authorised waste disposal site.
Used products

Topping up
This additive must be topped up by a
PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop
without delay.
Diesel additive level
(Diesel engine with particle
emission filter)
A low additive level is indicated by illumination
of the ser vice warning lamp, accompanied by an audible warning and a message in the screen (if a display screen is fitted).

Checks
12 V battery


The battery does not require any maintenance.
However, check that the terminals are clean
and correctly tightened, particularly in summer and winter.
The presence of this label, in particular with
the Stop & Star t system, indicates the use of
a specific 12 V lead-acid battery with special
technology and specification. The involvement
of a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop is essential when replacing or disconnecting
the battery.
Particle emissions filter (Diesel)

The start of saturation of thepar ticle filter is indicated bythe fixed illumination of this warning lamp
accompanied by a warning message in the screen (if a display screen is fitted).
As soon as the traffic conditions permit,
regenerate the filter by driving at a speed of at
least 40 mph (60 km/h) until the warning lampgoes off.
If the warning lamp stays on, this indicates a
low additive level.

On a new vehicle, the first par ticlefilter regeneration operations may be accompanied by a "burnt" smell, whichis perfectly normal.
Following prolonged operation of the vehicle at very low speed or at idle, you may, in exceptional circumstances,notice the emission of water vapour at the exhaust on acceleration. This does not affect the behaviour of the vehicle or the environment. Unless other wise indicated, check these components in accordance with the ser vicin
g and warranty booklet and according to your engine. Other wise, have them checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Air filter and passenger compartment filter
Refer to the servicing and warranty
booklet for details of the replacement
inter vals for these components.
Oil filter
Replace the oil filter each time theengine oil is changed.
Refer to the ser vicing and warranty
booklet for details of the replacement
interval for this component. When carr
ying out work on the battery, refer
to the "12 V battery" section for details of theprecautions to be taken before disconnecting
the battery and following its reconnection. Dependin
g on the environment (e.g. dusty
atmosphere) and the use of the vehicle(e.g. city driving), replace them twice as oftenif necessary.y A clogged passenger compartment filter may
have an adverse effect on the performance
of the air conditioning system and generateundesirable odours.
