FAMILIARISATION EXTERIOR
AUTOMATIC ILLUMINATION OF
HEADLAMPS
This system switches on the sidelamps
and dipped beam headlamps when the
light is poor or when the windscreen
wipers are operating continuously,
when the lighting stalk is in the " AUTO "
position.

GUIDE-ME-HOME LIGHTING
This function, linked with the automatic
illumination of headlamps or activated
manually, allows you to leave the front
lighting on after switching off the ignition.

ment each other to assist you to brake

Operation indicator lamps
If one of the following indicator lamps comes on, this confi rms that the corresponding system has come into operation.

Warning lamp is on Cause Action/Observations

Left-hand
direction

buzzer. The lighting stalk is pushed up.


Dipped beam
headlamps fi xed. The lighting stalk is in the
"Dipped beam headlamps"
position.

Main beam
headlamps fi xed. The lighting stalk is pulled
towards you. Pull the stalk to return to dipped beam
headlamps.

Front
foglamps fi xed. The front foglamps are
switched on. Turn the ring on the stalk rearwards twice to
switch off the front foglamps.

Rear
foglamps fi xed. The rear foglamps are
switched on. Turn the ring on the stalk rearwards to switch
off the rear foglamps.

Diesel engine
pre-heating fi xed. The ignition switch is at the
2nd position (ignition on). Wait until the warning lamp has switched off
before starting.
The duration for which the warning lamp is on
is determined by the climatic conditions.

Lighting
The various front and rear lamps of the
vehicle are designed to improve the
driver's visibility depending on the exte-
rior conditions:
- sidelamps, to be seen,
- dipped beam headlamps, to see with-out dazzling other drivers,
- main beam headlamps, for good visibility when the road is clear,
- rear foglamp, to be seen from a dis- tance,
- front foglamps, for even better for- ward vision.
Programming
Various automatic lighting control modes
are also available according to the fol-
lowing options:
- guide-me-home lighting,
- automatic illumination of headlamps. Selection is by turning ring

Automatic illumination of
healamps Lighting on reminder
With the ignition off and the automatic
illumination of headlamps function
switched off, when the driver's door is
opened, a buzzer sounds if you have
left the lighting on.
Front foglamps and rear
foglamp
Rotate the ring forwards to switch on
and backwards to switch off. The status
is confi rmed by the indicator lamp on
the instrument panel.
Vehicles fi tted with a rear
foglamp (ring B)
Dipped/Main beam change
Pull the stalk towards you. When the lighting is switched off
automatically, the rear foglamp
and the dipped headlamps re-
main on (turn the ring backwards
to switch off the rear foglamp.
The dipped beam headlamps and
sidelamps then switch off).
This only operates with the dipped/main
beam headlamps.

"Guide me home" lighting
When you leave your vehicle, the side-
lamps and dipped beam headlamps can
be left on for approximately 30 seconds.
To do this:
- place the key in the STOP position,
- place the lighting stalk in the 0 posi-
tion,
- fl ash the headlamps,
- get out of the vehicle and lock it. Direction indicators (fl ashers)

Left: downwards.

Right: upwards.
In good or rainy weather, both
day and night, the front foglamps
and the rear foglamp cause daz-
zle and their use is prohibited.
Do not forget to switch them off
when they are no longer needed.
Vehicles fi tted with front
foglamps and a rear foglamp
(ring C)
When the lighting is switched off
automatically or when the dipped
beam headlamps are switched
off manually, the front foglamps,
the rear foglamp and the side-
lamps remain on (turn the ring
backwards to switch off the front
foglamps. The sidelamps then
switch off).
Front foglamps (fi rst rotation of the ring
forwards)
To switch off the rear foglamp and
the front foglamps, turn the ring
backwards twice in succession.
The front foglamps operate with the
sidelamps, the dipped beam headlamps
and the main beam headlamps.
Front and rear foglamps (2nd rotation of
the ring forwards).

AUTOMATIC ILLUMINATION OF
HEADLAMPS
The sidelamps and dipped beam head-
lamps come on automatically if the light
is poor and when the windscreen wip-
ers operate continuously and switch off
when the light becomes bright enough
or the windscreen wipers are switched
off.

In foggy weather or in snow, the
sun-
shine
sensor may detect suffi cient
light, the lighting will not come on au-
tomatically. If necessary, the dipped
beam headlamps must be switched
on manually.
This function is active when the vehicle
is supplied to the customer.
To deactivate or activate the function:
- Place the key in the accessories po- sition (1st notch),
- Place the lighting stalk in the 0 posi-
tion,
- Press the end of the lighting stalk for more than four seconds.

Do not cover the
sunshine
sensor,
coupled with the rain sensor, located
in the centre of the windscreen, be-
hind the rear view mirror. It is used
for the automatic illumination of
headlamps. Operating check
Activation
Activation is accompanied by an audible
signal and a message in the multifunc-
tion screen.
Deactivation
Deactivation is accompanied by an au-
dible signal.
When the driver uses the manual light-
ing controls, the function is temporarily
deactivated.

If the
sunshine
sensor does not func-
tion correctly , the lighting come on ac-
companied by an audible signal and a
message in the multifunction screen.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
HEADLAMP ADJUSTMENT
Depending on the load in your vehicle,
it is recommended that the headlamp
beam is adjusted.

0. 1 or 2 people in the front seats.

-. 3 people.

1. 5 people.

2. 5 people + maximum authorised
load.

3. Driver + maximum authorised load.

Initial setting is position 0.

CHANGING A BULB
Front lamps

1. Direction indicators
(PY21W amber).

2. Sidelamps (W5W).

3. Dipped beam headlamps
(H7-55W).

4. Main beam headlamps (H1-55W).

5. Foglamps (PSX-24W).
Operating procedure for replacing a
faulty bulb with a new bulb. These op-
erations must be carried out
with the
ignition off .
To gain access to the bulbs on the right-
hand side * :
- Remove the screenwash reservoir fi ller tube.
- Unclip the engine harness 1 .
- Remove the nut from the engine management unit support 2 using a
size 10 spanner.
- Remove the engine management unit and support assembly. After changing the faulty bulb:
- Slide the two lugs of the engine
management unit support into the
locations A .
- Put the engine management unit back in place.
- Tighten the engine management unit support nut (size 10 spanner).
- Reclip the engine harness.
These bulbs are available from
PEUGEOT dealers.
In certain climatic conditions (low
temperature, humidity), conden-
sation inside the glass of the
headlamps and other lamps is
normal .
However, contact a PEUGEOT
dealer if water is present in the
headlamps.
* Petrol engines only.

 Turn the bulb holder a quarter turn
and remove it.

 Pull the bulb and change it.
To refi t, carry out these operations in
reverse order.
Amber coloured bulbs, such as
the direction indicators, must be
replaced with bulbs of identical
specifi cation and colour.
Direction indicators

 Disconnect the headlamp main
connector, pulling the red control.

 Remove the plastic protective cover
turning it a quarter turn.

 Pull the bulb out and change it. Dipped beam headlamps

 Disconnect the headlamp main con-
nector, pulling the red control.

 Remove the plastic protective cover
turning it a quarter turn.

 Press the connector downwards to
release the bulb.

 Pull the bulb out and change it.
To refi t, carry out these operations in
reverse order.

Front foglamp

 Slide a hand under the bumper.

 Turn the connector a quarter turn
and remove the assembly.

 Remove the bulb and change it.
Main beam headlamps

 Disconnect the headlamp main
connector, pulling the red control.

 Remove the plastic protective cover
turning it a quarter turn.

 Move aside the springs to release
the bulb and pull the bulb out.
To refi t, carry out these operations in
reverse order. Direction indicator side repeater

 Push the repeater forwards and
release it.

 Remove the repeater and change it.
Repeaters can be obtained from a
PEUGEOT dealer.

High pressure washing
When using a jet washer on stub-
born dirt, do not persist on the
headlamps, the other lamps and
their surround to avoid damaging
their coating and seals.
