Changing the third brake lamp bulbs
(4 bulbs W 5 W)
ļ R e m o v e t h e t w o l a m p ļ¬ x i n g n u t s .
ļ Remove the lamp from the outside.
ļ Press on the two tabs and remove
the bulb holder
ļ Pull the bulb and change it.
T o r e ļ¬ t , c a r r y o u t t h e s e o p e r a t i o n s i n r e -
verse order.
T i g h t e n t h e ļ¬ x i n g b o l t s u f ļ¬ c i e n t l y b y
hand to guarantee the sealing of the
lamp. Changing the number plate bulbs
(W 5 W)
ļ Insert a thin screwdriver into one of
t h e e x t e r i o r h o l e s o f t h e l e n s .
ļ Push it towards the outside to unclip it
ļ Remove the lens.
ļ Pull the bulb and change it.
High pressure washing
When using this type of washing
on stubborn dirt, do not persist
on the headlamps, the lamps and
their surrounds, to avoid damag-
ing their protective coating and
seals.

Before replacing a fuse, the cause of
t h e f a i l u r e m u s t b e i d e n t i ļ¬ e d a n d r e c t i -

ļ I d e n t i f y t h e f a u l t y f u s e b y e x a m i n i n g
t h e c o n d i t i o n o f i t s ļ¬ l a m e n t .
ļ U s e t h e s p e c i a l p l i e r s t o e x t r a c t t h e
fuse from its housing.
ļ Always replace the faulty fuse with a
fuse of the same rating.
ļ Check that the number engraved
o n t h e b o x a n d t h e r a t i n g e n g r a v e d
on the top correspond to the tables
which follow.

BATTERY
Procedure for charging your battery
w h e n i t i s ļ¬ a t o r f o r s t a r t i n g t h e e n g i n e
using another battery.
Access to the battery Starting using another battery
ļ Connect the red cable to the posi-
t i v e t e r m i n a l ( + ) o f t h e ļ¬ a t b a t t e r y A ,
t h e n t o t h e p o s i t i v e t e r m i n a l ( + ) o f
the slave battery B .
ļ Connect one end of the green or
black cable to the negative terminal
( - ) o f t h e s l a v e b a t t e r y B .
ļ Connect the other end of the green
or black cable to an earth point C on
the broken down vehicle, as far as
p o s s i b l e f r o m t h e b a t t e r y ( f o r e x a m -
p l e , r i g h t - h a n d e n g i n e m o u n t i n g ) .
ļ Operate the starter, let the engine run.
ļ Wait until the engine returns to idle
and disconnect the cables.
The battery is located under the bonnet
on the left.
T o g a i n a c c e s s t o i t :
ļ open the bonnet using the interior
r e l e a s e l e v e r , t h e n t h e e x t e r i o r s a f e -
ty catch,
ļ secure the bonnet stay,
ļ remove the plastic cover to gain ac-
cess to the two terminals.

Do not disconnect the terminals
while the engine is running.
Do not charge the batteries without
d i s c o n n e c t i n g t h e t e r m i n a l s ļ¬ r s t .
Do not push the vehicle to start the
e n g i n e i f i t i s ļ¬ t t e d w i t h a " 2 T r o n i c "
g e a r b o x .
The batteries contain harmful sub-
stances such as sulphuric acid and
lead. They must be disposed of in
accordance with regulations and
must not, in any circumstances, be
discarded with household waste.
Take used remote control batteries
and vehicle batteries to a special
collection point.
Charging the battery using a
battery charger
ļ Disconnect the battery from the
vehicle.
ļ Follow the instructions for use pro-
vided by the manufacturer of the
charger.
ļ Reconnect starting with the nega-
t i v e t e r m i n a l ( - ) .
ļ Check that the terminals and connec-
tors are clean. If they are covered with
s u l p h a t e ( w h i t i s h o r g r e e n i s h d e p o s i t ) ,
remove them and clean them.
It is advisable to disconnect the
battery if the vehicle is to be left un-
used for more than one month. Before disconnecting the
battery
Wait 2 minutes after switching off
the ignition before disconnecting
the battery.
Close the windows and the doors
before disconnecting the battery.
Following reconnection of the
battery
Following reconnection of the bat-
tery, switch on the ignition and wait
1 minute before starting to permit ini-
tialisation of the electronic systems.
H o w e v e r , i f s l i g h t d i f ļ¬ c u l t i e s a r e e n -
countered following this operation,
contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Referring to the corresponding section,
y o u m u s t y o u r s e l f r e i n i t i a l i s e :
- the remote control key,
- the one-touch electric windows,
- the GPS satellite navigation
system.
Disconnecting the cables
Reconnecting the cables
ļ Position the open clip 1 of the cable
o n t h e p o s i t i v e t e r m i n a l ( + ) o f t h e
battery.
ļ Press vertically on the clip 1 to posi-
tion it correctly against the battery.
ļ Lock the clip by lowering the tab 2 .
Do not force the tab as locking will not
be possible if the clip is not positioned
correctly; start the procedure again.
ļ Raise the locking tab fully.

LOAD REDUCTION MODE
System which manages the use of cer-
tain functions according to the level of
charge remaining in the battery.
When the vehicle is being driven, the load
reduction function temporarily deactivates
certain functions, such as the air condition-
ing, the heated rear screen...
The deactivated functions are reactivat-
ed automatically as soon as conditions
permit. A ļ¬ a t b a t t e r y p r e v e n t s t h e e n g i n e
from starting (refer to the corre-
s p o n d i n g p a r a g r a p h ) .
If the telephone is being used at
this time, it will be maintained for
5 minutes with your Peugeot Con-
nect Sound's Bluetooth system.
System which manages the duration of
use of certain functions to conserve a
s u f ļ¬ c i e n t l e v e l o f c h a r g e i n t h e b a t t e r y .
After the engine has stopped, you can
still use functions such as the audio
equipment, windscreen wipers, dipped
beam headlamps, courtesy lamps, etc.
f o r a m a x i m u m c o m b i n e d d u r a t i o n o f
thirty minutes.
Exiting economy mode
These functions are reactivated auto-
m a t i c a l l y n e x t t i m e t h e v e h i c l e i s d r i v e n .
ļ In order to resume the use of these
functions immediately, start the en-
gine and let it run for a few minutes.
The time available to you will then be
double the duration for which the engine
is left running. However, this period will al-
w a y s b e b e t w e e n ļ¬ v e a n d t h i r t y m i n u t e s .
Switching to economy mode
Once the thirty minutes are over, a
message appears on the multifunction
screen indicating that the vehicle has
switched to economy mode and the ac-
tive functions are put on standby.
CHANGING A WIPER BLADE
Procedure for replacing a worn wiper
blade with a new one without the use
of tools.
Removing a front or rear wiper
blade
ļ Raise the corresponding wiper arm.
ļ Unclip the wiper blade and remove it.
Fitting a front or rear wiper
blade
ļ At the front, check the size of the
wiper blade as the shorter blade is
ļ¬ t t e d o n t h e r i g h t - h a n d s i d e o f t h e
vehicle.
ļ Put the corresponding new wiper
blade in place and clip it.
ļ Fold down the wiper arm carefully.

TOWING THE VEHICLE
Procedure for having your vehicle towed
or for towing another vehicle using a re-
movable towing eye.
Access to the tools Towing your vehicle
ļ On the front bumper, pull on the cov-
er to unclip it.
ļ Screw the towing eye in fully.
ļ Install the towing bar.
ļ Switch on the hazard warning lamps
on the towed vehicle.
ļ On the rear bumper, unclip the cover
by pressing at the bottom.
ļ Screw the towing eye in fully.
ļ Install the towing bar.
ļ Switch on the hazard warning lamps
on the towed vehicle.
Towing another vehicle
The towing eye is stowed in the boot
u n d e r t h e ļ¬ o o r .
T o g a i n a c c e s s t o i t :
ļ open the boot,
ļ r a i s e t h e ļ¬ o o r ,
ļ secure it by hooking its cord on the
hook on the rear parcel shelf support,
ļ remove the towing eye from the
holder. When towing with all four wheels
on the ground, always use a tow-
ing bar.
When towing with only two wheels
on the ground, always use profes-
sional lifting equipment.
When towing with the engine off,
there is no longer any braking or
steering assistance.
ļ Place the gear lever in neutral
(position N on the 2 Tronic or
a u t o m a t i c g e a r b o x ) .
Failure to comply with this special
requirement may result in damage
to certain braking components and
the absence of braking assistance
