Unlocking
Press button Bto unlock the vehicle.
This is confirmed by rapid flashing
of the direction indica
tors.
Note : If the vehicle is
locked and unlocking
is then activated inad
vertently, the vehicle
will relock automatically unless a
door is opened within 30 seconds
of unlocking.
STARTING
STOP position:
The ignition is off.
1st notch,
Accessories position:
The ignition is off but the acces
sories can be used.
2nd notch, Running position:
The ignition is on.
Starting position:
Operates the starter.

THE KEYS
The keys allow you to switch on
the ignition and to independently
operate the locks on the front
doors, the fuel filler cap and the
glove box, as well as operate the
passenger air bag disarming
switch.
Central locking
From the driver's door, the keys
allow you to lock, deadlock or
unlock the doors and the boot
and to fold back the exterior mir
rors.
If one of the doors or the boot is
open, it is impossible to operate
the central locking; a bleep indi
cates locking by remote control.
The remote control performs
the same functions at a dis
tance. The remote control key

REAR SEATS
To fold down the rear left seat (2/3 part) or right seat (1/3 part):
always start with the cushion, never with the seat back (the re is a risk of damage):
– Move the seat(s) forward if necessary,
– Tilt the seat cushion 1 against the front seat(s), estate: tilt using the handle.
– Check that the seat belt is in the correct position on the side of the seat back,
– Pull control 2forwards to unlock the seat back 3,
– Place the head restraints in the low position,
– Tilt the seat back 3forwards
estate: the seat cushion 1can be removed.
When refitting: – Fold up the seat back and lock it (the red marker of control 2should no longer be visible at this
point),
– Fold back the seat cushion.

Take care not to trap the seat
belts.
AIR BAGS
The air bags have been designed
to maximise the safety of the
occupants in the event of serious
collisions. They work in conjunc
tion with the force limiting seat
belts.
Front air bags
These are folded in the centre of
the steering wheel for the driver
and in the fascia for the front pas
senger. They are deployed simul
taneously, except in cases where
the passenger air bag is dis
armed.
Precautions regarding
the passenger air bag ➜disarm the air bag if you
install a rearfacing child
seat,,
➜ arm the air bag for an adult
passenger. Operating check
With the ignition switched
on (2nd notch of the igni
tion), illumination of this
warning light, accompa
nied by an audible signal and the
message ' 'Passenger air bag
disarmed'' on the multi_function
display, indicates that the pas
senger air bag is disarmed (swit
ch in the "OFF"position).
The warning light remains on
throughout the disarming pro
cess.
Side air bags*
and curtain air bags*
The side air bags are incorporat
ed into the seat backs of the front
seats, on the door side.
The curtain air bags are incorpo
rated into the door pillars and the
top of the passenger compart
ment.
They are deployed unilaterally, on
whichever side the col
lision occurs.

Disarming the passenger
air bag* ➜ with the ignition off, insert the
key into slot 1and turn the
passenger air bag switch to
the "OFF" position.
As soon as you remove the child
seat, turn the air bag switch to the
''ON'' position, to activate the air
bag again.

HEIGHT AND DEPTH
ADJUSTMENT ➜
When stationary, pull handle
Ato unlock the steering wheel.
➜ Adjust the height and depth of
the steering wheel.
➜ Lock it by pushing handle Ain
fully.
Manual mode: ➜ Press or pull the switch lightly.
The window stops as soon as
the switch is released. Automatic mode: ➜
Press or pull the switch firmly.
One touch completely opens
or closes the window.
➜ Move switch 6to the right or
left to select the corresponding
mirror.
➜ Then move button 7in all four
directions to adjust.
➜ Move switch 6back to the
centre position. When the vehicle is parked, the
mirrors can be folded back man

REAR PARKING AID
(ESTATE)
This system, installed in the rear
bumper, detects any obstacle
(person, vehicle, tree, barrier,
kerb...) situated behind the vehi
cle.
Activation
With the engine running, the sys
tem is activated when reverse
gear is engaged. A bleep indi
cates that it is active.
The proximity information is given
by an audible signal, consisting of
bleeps which become faster as
the vehicle approaches the
obstacle.
When the distance between the
rear of the vehicle and the obsta
cle is less than approxi
mately twentyfive cen
timetres, the audible sig
nal becomes continuous.
When you switch to neu
tral, the system becomes
inactive again.
Storing a speed
When you reach the required
speed, press button
2or 3. The
speed is stored and will be main
tained automatically.
Note: it is possible to accelerate
temporarily without deactivating
the cruise control.
Deactivating the stored speed
If you wish to deactivate the
stored speed:  press button 4or the brake or
clutch pedal.
Recalling the stored speed
Following deactivation, press but
ton 4. Your vehicle will return to
the last speed stored.
Cancelling the stored speed  Place knob 1in the OFFposi
tion or switch off the ignition.
Do not use the
cruise control on
slippery roads or
in heavy traffic.

CRUISE CONTROL
The cruise control makes it possi
ble to maintain, at a constant rate,
the vehicle speed programmed by
the driver, irrespective of the pro
file of the road and without any
action on accelerator or brake
pedal.
To be stored, the vehicle speed
must be in excess of approxi
mately 25 mph.
Activation Place knob 1in the ON
position.
You may store a speed.  Place knob 1in the OFFposi
tion to deactivate the system.

OPENING THE BONNET
Inside the vehicle:Push the
handle on the lefthand side,
under the fascia.
Outside the vehicle: Lift
the catch, raise the bon
net and secure the strut
to keep the bonnet open.
FILLING WITH FUEL
This operation must be carried out with
the engine switched off.
➜ Open the fuel filler flap.
➜ Insert the key then turn it to the left.
➜ Remove the cap and hook it onto the clip on the inside of the flap.
A label on the inside of the flap shows which type of fue l to use.
When you fill your tank, do not continue after the third cu toff of the pump.
This could cause your vehicle to malfunction.
The capacity of the tank is approximately 13 gallons (60 litres).
➜ After filling the tank, lock the cap and close the flap.
Low fuel level warning light
From the time this light comes on, the range
remaining is approximately 30 miles(50 km).
