Using the telephone
directories
You can access the
"Consultation of
the Directories" menu from the main
"Telephone" menu or by pressing the
end of the steering wheel control for
more than 2 seconds.
** According to country. Receiving a call
An incoming call is announced by a
ring and a superimposed display on
the multifunction display.
You can choose:
- to accept the call by conirming the
"YES" tab by pressing the end of
the steering wheel control,
- to refuse the call by selecting the "NO" tab using the dial and con-
irming by pressing the end of the
steering wheel control. Second incoming call*
This function enables you to receive a
second call during a communication.
You are informed by an audible sig-
nal and the message
"Pick up the
call?" appears.
You can choose:
- to accept the call by conirming the "YES" tab by pressing the end of
the steering wheel control,
- to refuse the call by selecting the "NO" tab using the dial and con-
irming by pressing the end of the
steering wheel control.
Note: if you do not conirm a choice,
the second call will be refused when
the message expires.
If you refuse the second call, you
remain in communication with the
irst, if you accept it, the irst is put
on hold.
Note: if you switch to the call put on
hold and this has been interrupted
during your communication, you
must select the "Hang up the call"
tab to delete the "Communication
in progress" message on the multi-
function display.

Making a call
You can make a call:
- by selecting a contact from one of
the directories using the steering
wheel control dial and then press-
ing the end of the steering wheel
contol to call this contact,
- by entering the number via the telephone keypad and then press-
ing the "pick up" button on the
telephone,
- by means of the telephone voice recognition (voice description),
- by means of the telephone voice dialling** (voice command). Ending a call
During or at the end of communication:
- press the end of the steering wheel
control to display the superimposed
display "Hang up the call" ,
- then conirm via the "YES" tab
using the dial and conirming by
pressing the end of the steering
wheel control.

Switching between two calls
During communication, press the
end of the steering wheel control for
more than 2 seconds to display the
contextual menu:
-
"Switch the call" , when selected
then conirmed by pressing the end
of the steering wheel control, ena-
bles you to switch from one contact
to the other,
- "Hang up the call" enables you
to hang up the communication in
progress and resume the call with
the other contact. Secret mode
During communication, press the end
of the steering wheel control for more
than 2 seconds to display the contex-
tual menu:
-
"Activate secret mode" , when
selected then conirmed by press-
ing the end of the steering wheel
control, permits cutting off of the
courtesy light microphone.
During communication, press the
end of the steering wheel control for
more than 2 seconds to display the
contextual menu:
- "Deactivate secret mode" , when
selected then conirmed by press-
ing the end of the steering wheel
control, permits reactivation of the
courtesy light microphone. Telephone voice recognition
First of all, a voice description must
be associated with the chosen con-
tact and recorded in your telephone
while disconnected from the hands-
free kit (refer to your telephone's
user manual).
Continuity of service
If you enter your vehicle with your
mobile telephone in communication,
you can continue the call using the
hands-free kit after a few seconds.
To do this, you must "trigger" the
system:
- by switching on the ignition,
or
- by switching on the audio equip- ment.
Note: if you switch off the ignition
while a communication is in progress,
the system remains in "hands-free"
mode until the call is ended or until
the telephone is disconnected from
the system. Handset mode
During a private conversation or
when leaving your vehicle, it is possi-
ble, from your telephone, to transfer
the audio in order to continue the
conversation using your telephone's
handset directly.
Conversely, you can, from your tele-
phone, transfer the audio to return to
"hands-free" mode.
To use this function, please refer to
your telephone's user manual.
To activate the voice recognition,
press the end of the lights stalk then
say the previously recorded voice
description.
Notes:
Your telephone must be displaying
the welcome screen.
An audible signal, emitted by the
telephone and ampliied by the
speakers, indicates that you must
say the voice description.

Telephone voice dialling**
To activate the voice dialling, press the
end of the lights stalk for more than two
seconds, the system asks you to say
the number to be dialled digit by digit.
After a double conirmation audible
signal and within ive seconds, you
must say the digits one by one or in
groups of digits
("0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7,
8, 9, #, *, +") .
Then wait for the double conirma-
tion audible signal and the repetition
of the digits by the system.
Then say the command "Call" to es-
tablish the communication.
If you make a mistake when say-
ing the number, say the command
"Change" once to correct the last
digit; then a second time to delete
the entire number.Using the calls log
In addition to your telephone's di-
rectories, you have a calls log which
enables you to:
- access the last ten incoming calls,
- access the last ten outgoing calls,
- access the last ten missed calls.
All of these calls are classiied in
chronological order.
Warning concerning the
"Telephone directories"
function
The "Consultation of the Directo-
ries" function permits consultation of
the content of these directories and
the making of a call, but in no case
does it permit any changes (addition,
deletion, ...).
The mobile telephone directories are
loaded into the system's memory
(1 000 numbers maximum) each time
the telephone is connected, after a
few seconds.
The mobile telephone directories
which control the "V-card" type iles
will also be transferred.
Note: if the telephone contains more
than 1 000 directory iles, only the
irst 1 000 iles will be transferred to
the system (in alphabetical order).
It will be possible to consult the re-
maining iles directly on the telephone.
If the "V-card" iles contain more than
4 levels of numbers, only the irst
4 levels will be transferred to the sys-
tem (in alphabetical order).
SMS text messages
The reception of SMS text messages
is indicated by a symbol*, represented
by an envelope on the multifunction
display.
The entering, sending or reading of
SMS text messages must be carried
out from the mobile telephone.

Using the assistance services
In addition to your telephone's direc-
tories, you have an assistance serv-
ices directory which enables you to:
- call the customer contact centre:
"PEUGEOT service" ,
- call the breakdown service: "PEUGEOT Assistance" ,
- call 112: "Emergency call" .
Note: the emergency call can only be
made using the hands-free kit if the
access conditions are met (PIN code,
suficient network signal level).

Your 407 is itted with a JBL Hi-Fi
system, designed speciically for
the passenger compartment. At the
heart of the system, a 240 watt mul-
tifunction ampliier (1) independently
controls 10 speakers and an integral
subwoofer.
This system provides optimum repro-
duction and distribution of the sound
in the vehicle, both in the front and
the rear.
The speakers are situated:
- in the fascia: two Micro Tweeters
(2) set in two Medium-range speak-
ers (3) for frontal reproduction of
the sound. - in the front doors: two Woofers (4)

for reproduction of the bass (low
frequencies) in the front.
- in the rear doors: two Tweeters (5) and two Woofers (6) providing a
balance of frequencies (from bass
to treble) in the rear.
- in the right boot trim: a Sub- woofer (7) for reproduction of the
ultra-bass (very low frequencies)
throughout the whole of the pas-
senger compartment.
You will appreciate the performance
of the JBL system, noticing that the
sound ills the whole of the vehicle
perfectly. Adjusting in CD or Radio mode
The basic functions remain those of
the audio set.
There is no need for any further ad-
justment.
However, in order to take full advan-
tage of your JBL audio system, you
are advised to set the AUDIO func-
tions (BASS, TREB, FAD, BAL) to
the "mid-way" position, the Loudness
(LOUD) to the "ON" position for CD
mode and to the "OFF" position for
radio mode.

- the central button which enables you to move the cursor on the
screen and conirm.
Note: all selections can be cancelled
prior to conirmation by pressing the

On/off
Adjusting the volume
Turn the dial clockwise to increase
the volume of the audio/telephone or
anti-clockwise to decrease it.
The volume setting is speciic to each
source. It is possible to have different
settings for radio, CD or CD changer,
telephone or voice synthesiser.
Selecting "None" permits ac-
cess to all of the settings de-
ined below.
Adjusting the Bass
When "Bass" is displayed, vary the
setting using the navigator. - "-9" for minimum bass setting
- mid-way for normal bass setting
- "+9" for maximum bass setting
Musical ambience
This function permits the selection of a
musical ambience: "None", "Classical",
"Jazz-Blues", "Pop-Rock", "Techno" or
"Vocal".
Select the musical ambience using
the navigator.
Selecting a musical ambience sets
the bass and treble automatically.
Press the button
to switch the audio
function of the RT3
GPS audio/telephone
on or off.
The RT3 GPS audio/
telephone can operate for approxi-
mately 30 minutes without the vehicle's
ignition being switched on, under nor-
mal conditions of use and maintenance
of the battery.
After the ignition has been switched
off, the audio/telephone can be
switched on again by pressing the
"TEL" (green) button or by inserting
a CD in the player. Audio settings

Anti-theft system
The RT3 GPS audio/telephone is
coded in such a way that it can op-
erate only on your vehicle. If it is to
be removed and itted to another
vehicle, check the feasibility and the
coniguration of the system with your
PEUGEOT dealer.
The anti-theft system is automatic
and requires no action on your part.

Radio
Notes on radio reception
The quality of the radio reception is
subject to external phenomena, due
to the nature of the signals and the
way in which they are transmitted.
Both MW/LW and FM are subject to
various forms of interference. This is
not a relection on the quality of the
equipment.
On MW/LW interference may be
noticed when passing under high
voltage power lines or bridges, or in
tunnels.
On FM, interference may be the re-
sult of increasing distance from the
transmitter, delection of the signals
by obstacles (mountains, hills, build-
ings, etc.) or of being in an area which
is not covered by a transmitter.
Adjusting the Treble
When "Treble" is displayed, vary the
setting using the navigator. -
"-9" for minimum treble setting
- mid-way for normal setting
- "+9" for maximum treble setting Automatic station search
