Rear armrest
The rear armrest consists of two
compartments with a hinged cover.
Storage compartment
1:
F Lift the cover.
Cup holder 2:
F Fold the second cover forwards.
Removing the mat
When removing the mat on the driv-
er's side, push the seat as far back
as possible and remove the ixings.
When reitting, position the mat and
clip the ixings. If the mat is not se-
cured correctly, there is a risk that
it may get caught under the pedal
assembly.
Storage compartments
There are two storage compartments
located in the boot side trim.
To gain access to a compartment:
F turn the two screws to the right
and remove the panel.
Access to the ski lap
Pull the handle down then towards
you to open the lap.

MONOCHROME DISPLAY C
(without RD4 audio equipment)
Presentation
It displays the following information:
- the time,
- the date,
- the exterior temperature (the value dis-
played lashes if there is a risk of ice),
- the accesses check,
- the vehicle function status mes- sages, displayed temporarily,
- the warning messages,
- the trip computer displays,
- the vehicle parameters,
- the air conditioning displays,
- the selection of the languages.
Parameter configuration
There are four display control buttons:
- "MENU" to display the general menu,
- "MODE" to change the permanent
application,
- "ESC" to abandon the operation in
progress,
- Rotation of the navigator: move-
ment on the display or changing of
a setting,
- Press on the navigator: conirma-
tion of the selection.
General menu
Press the "MENU" button to access
the general menu:
- trip computer (see corresponding section),
- personalisation-coniguration,
- air conditioning (see corresponding section).
Turn the navigator to select the menu
required, then conirm by pressing
the navigator.
"Personalisation-
Coniguration" menu
Once this menu has been selected, you
can access the following functions:
- deine the vehicle parameters,
- display coniguration,
- selection of the language.

Deine the vehicle parameters
Once this menu has been selected,
you can activate or deactivate the
following equipment:
- wiper linked with reverse gear,
- automatic switching on of the lights,
- "follow-me-home" lighting and du-
ration,
- parking assistance.
Example: "Duration of the "follow-me-
home" lighting" Display coniguration
Once this menu has been selected,
you can access the following settings:
- brightness-video setting,
- date and time setting,
- selection of the units.
Selection of the language
Once this menu has been selected,
you can change the language used
on the display (German, Spanish,
French, English, Italian, Dutch, Por-
tuguese, Brazilian Portuguese).
Once you have selected a setting, turn
the navigator to change its value.
Press the navigator to conirm and
record the modiied data.

The RD4 is a radio with a single CD
player on the front panel.
It is itted with:
- a special socket for connection of
the CD changer,
- 6 speakers (2 tweeters, 2 woofers and two broad band),
- a tuner with 18 FM memories (3 wavebands) and 6 AM memories,
- a processor for digital processing of the sound , "DSP" (DIGITAL SOUND
PROCESSOR).
Its power is 4x15 W. RADIO
This is Radio Text compatible.
CD PLAYER
This is CD text
 compatible.
If the TA (Trafic Announcement) func-
tion is active, interruption by Trafic
Information is possible.6 DISC CD CHANGER
With random play and track intro (In-
troscan) function.

JBL HI-FI SYSTEM
The RD4 is compatible with the JBL
audio system in order to beneit from

Navigator
Located on the RD4 audio equip-
ment control keypad, this enables
you to select and conirm the func-
tions, commands and parameters
displayed.
It incorporates:
- the up
5, down 6, left 7, right
8 movement arrows which en-
able you to move the cursor on the
screen,
- the central conirmation button. Anti-theft system
The audio equipment is coded in such
a way that it can only work in your ve-
hicle. If you wish to install it in another
vehicle, contact your PEUGEOT deal-
er for coniguration of the system.
The anti-theft system is automatic.
No action on your part is required.
All selections can be
cancelled prior to conir-
mation by pressing the
"ESC" button or automat-
ically after a few seconds
without any action.

following pages.

On/off
Adjusting the bass
When "Bass" is displayed, press the
navigator buttons to vary the setting.
- "-9" for a minimum bass setting,
- mid-way for a normal setting,
- "+9" for a maximum bass setting.
Press the button to
switch the set on or off.
Adjusting the volume
Turn the button clockwise to increase
the audio equipment volume or anti-
clockwise to decrease it.
Audio settings
Press the ¯ but-
ton several times to
access the musical
ambience, automatic
volume correction,
left/right balance,
rear/front balance,
loudness, treble and bass setting
windows.
Exit from audio mode is by pressing
the "ESC" button or is automatic after
a few seconds without pressing any
button. Musical ambience
This function permits the selection of
a musical ambience: "None", "Classi-
cal", "Jazz-Blues", "Pop-Rock", "Vocal"
or "Techno".
Press the navigator buttons to select
the ambience required.
The selection of a musical ambience
sets the bass and treble automatically.
Adjusting the treble
When "Treble" is displayed, press the
navigator buttons to vary the setting.
- "-9" for a minimum treble setting,
- mid-way for a normal setting,
- "+9" for a maximum treble setting.
Loudness
Press the navigator buttons to switch
the function on or off.
The loudness automatically empha-
sises bass and treble tones.
The bass, treble, loudness and mu-
sical ambience settings are speciic
to each source. It is possible to set
them differently for the AM radio, FM
radio, CD, CD changer or auxiliary
equipment.

When "Rear - Front Balance" is dis-
played, press the navigator buttons.

Notes on radio reception
The quality of the audio reception is
subject to external phenomena, due
to the nature of the signals and the
way in which they are transmitted.
Both AM and FM reception are sub-
ject to various forms of interference.
This is no relection on the quality of
the equipment.
On MW/LW, interference may be
noticed when passing under high
voltage power lines or bridges, or in
tunnels.
On FM, interference may be the re-
sult of increasing distance from the
transmitter, delection of the signals by
obstacles (mountains, hills, buildings,
etc.), or of being in an area which is
not covered by a transmitter.Selecting radio mode
Press the "SOURCE"
button several times
until the radio source
is obtained.
Selecting a waveband Press the "BAND"
button briely to select
wavebands FM1, FM2,
FMast and AM.
The stored stations for
each waveband are
displayed.
Automatic station search

When "Left - Right Balance" is dis-
played, press the navigator buttons.

the right-hand side.

on the level of noise produced by the
speed of the vehicle.

Briely press button 5

By continuing to press
the button in the direc-
tion selected, you will
obtain continuous scroll-
ing of the frequency.
The scrolling stops as
soon as the button is
released.
Manual storing of stations in the
memory
Select the station re-
quired.
Press one of the
buttons "1" to "6" for
more than one sec-
ond.
The sound stops then
becomes audible
again, conirming that
the station has been
stored in the memory. Automatic storing of FM stations
in the memory (autostore)
For greater listening
pleasure, it is prefer-
able to activate the
RDS function.
Press the "BND" but-
ton for more than one
second.
Your radio automatically stores the
6 stations with the strongest signal in
FM. These stations are stored in the
FMast waveband.
If it is not possible to ind 6 stations,
the remaining memories are empty. Displaying the stations available
You can display
the list of stations
received locally by
pressing the "LIST"
button. This list can
include up to 30 sta-
tions.
To update this list during your jour-
ney, press the "LIST" button for more
than one second.
To search for an available station:
- press the "LIST" button,
- when the list of available stations is displayed, press button 5 or 6
to select a station, then conirm the
selection using the "OK" button.
Note: stations which permit the
broadcasting of trafic information
are indicated by the display TA.
Recalling stations stored in the
memory
For each waveband, briely press
one of the buttons "1" to "6" to select
the corresponding station.
A superimposed display listing the
stored stations appears, the station
selected being identiied.
