Particular situations

In cer tain situations (e.g. star ting the engine),
the parking brake can automatically alter itsforce. This is normal operation.
To advance your vehicle a few centimetres
without star ting the engine, but with the ignition on, press on the brake pedal and release the
parking brake by pushing then releasingcontrol lever A
. The full release of the parking
brake is confirmed by the warning lamps in
the control lever Aand in the instrument panel going off and display of a message.
If a parking brake fault occurs while appliedor
if the battery runs flat, an emergency release is
always possible.
In order to ensure correct operation and
so your safety, the number of successive
application/release operations of the parkin
g
brake is limited to eight.
In the event of abuse, you are aler ted by a
message and a warning lamp which flashes.

Emergency braking
In the event of a failure of the main servicebrake, a continuous pull on the control lever Awill stop the vehicle.
The dynamic stability control provides stability
during emergency braking.
If the emergency braking malfunctions, a message will be displayed.

I
f a failure of the DSC system is
signalled by the lighting of this
warning lamp, then braking stability is
not
guaranteed.
In this event, stability must be assured by the
driver by repeating alternate "pull-release" actions on the control lever A.
Emergency parking brake release
)if your vehicle has one, take out the vehicle chock B , located behind the rear seats.)On a slope, immobilise the vehicle byplacing a chock in front or behind one of
the front wheels, opposing the slope. On level ground, immobilise the vehicle byplacing a chock in front or behind one of
the front wheels.
In the event o
f fault with the electric parkingbrake or a battery failure, an emergencymechanical control can be used to manually
releasethe parking brake.) Immobilise the vehicle (or chock it if the
brake pedal has not been released), with
the hybrid system active, place the gear selector in position M or R.)
Switch of the hybrid system, but leave the
ignition on. If you are unable to immobilise
the vehicle, do not operate this control and contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified
workshop as soon as possible.
The emergency braking must only be used in exceptional circumstances.

to the green cap.

For reasons of safety you must contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possibleto have the cap replaced.
Take care not to place anything dusty or
wet close to the cap.
With an emergency release, immobilisation of the vehicle is nolonger be assured once the mechanical release has started and the mechanicaltool cannot be used to apply the parking brake again.
Do not carry out any action on lever A
, or stop / star t the system while therelease tool is engaged.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
To r e - e ngage the electric parking brake(after correction of the fault or batteryfailure), make a long pull on the controllever A
until the parking brake warninglamp (!) flashes in the instrument panel, then make a second long pull until this warning lamp comes on fixed (not flashing).
)
Turn the release tool clockwise
. For
reasons of safetyit is essential
to keep
turning until the stop is reached. the
parking brake is released. ) Take care to refit the release tool in its
housing. ) The operation of the parking brake isreinitialised each time the ignition isswitched off and on. If reinitialisation of theparking brake is not possible, contact aPEUGEOT dealer. )
The application time may be longer than
with normal operation.
) Pierce the cap and inser t the release tool in
the tube.

The emergency braking should only be used in exceptional circumstances.

6-speed electronic gearbox
Six-speed electronic gearbox which offers achoice between the comfor t of fully automatic
operation or the pleasure of manual gear changing. There are two driving modes: -automatedmode for automatic control of
the gears by the gearbox,- manualmode for sequential gear changing
by the driver.
In automated mode, it remains possible to
change gear manually by using the steering mounted control paddles as desired, when
over taking, for example.
This gearbox provides additional functions:
- hill star t assist,
- creep function (the vehicle moves on its own on releasing the brake pedal) in automated mode or in reverse.R

Operate the +
or -steering mounted control paddles.

At very low speed, if reverse gear isrequested, this will only be taken intoaccount when the vehicle is immobilised(foot on the brake). A warning lamp appears in the instrument panel screen.

On sharp acceleration in manual mode, the gearbox will not change up unless the driver acts on the gear lever or thesteering mounted paddles.
Never select neutral N
while the vehicleis moving. Only engage reverse gear Rwhen thevehicle is immobilised with the brakepedal pressed.
A
disappears and the gears engaged
appear successively in the instrument
panel screen.

The
gear change commands are only carried
out if the engine speed permits. The internal combustion engine is still running.
It is not necessary to release the accelerator
during gear changes.
When brakin
g or slowing down, the gearbox changes down automatically to permit
acceleration in the correct gear. This selective
gear change mode enables you
to over take, for example, while still remaining in automatic mode.)Operate the +or - steering mounted controlpaddle.
The gearbox engages the gear requested if theengine speed permits. A is still displayed in theinstrument panel.
After a few moments without any action on
the controls, the gearbox resumes automatic control of the gears.
