Water in diesel filter warning light (according to country) Display of this warning light is accompanied by an audible signal and the message 'Water in diesel filter'on the
multi-function display.There is a risk of damage to the injection system.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible.Front brake pad wear warning lightDisplay of this warning light is accompanied by an audible signal and the message 'Brake pads worn'on the multi-
function display.
For your safety, have the pads replaced by a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as the warning light comes on.Low fuel level warning lightDisplay of this warning light is accompanied by an audible signal and the message 'Fuel level low'on the multi-
function display.
When the warning light comes on, you have enough fuel to drive approximately 30 miles (50 km). The tank capac- ity is approximately 80 litres. Fuel cap warning lightDisplay of this warning light is accompanied by an audible signal and the message 'Fuel cap open'on the multi-
function display.It comes on if the fuel tank cap is not correctly screwed on or is missing. Door/bonnet/boot open warning light Display of this warning light with the engine running is accompanied by an audible signal and an illustration on the

Engine diagnostics warning light This is linked to the warning light on the instrument panel.Display of this warning light is accompanied by an audible signal and the message
'Engine emission control sys-
tem faulty' on the multi-function display.
If it flashes when the engine is running, this indicates a malfunction in the injection, ignition or emission control system. Th ere
is a risk of damage to the catalytic converter (petrol engine only).
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible.
Bulb blown warning lightDisplay of this indicator light is accompanied by an audible signal and the message 'Bulb... faulty' on the multi-func-
tion display, indicating the faulty bulb: a bulb in the dipped beam lights, the side lights, the direction indicator lights (except side repeaters) or the brake lights (except the central brake light).
Change the faulty bulb.
Windscreen/headlamp wash reservoir warning light Display of this warning light is accompanied by an audible signal and the message 'Screenwash low'on the multi-
function display.Fill the windscreen/headlamp wash reservoir the next time you stop. Particulate emission filter saturation warning light (diesel engine) Display of this warning light is accompanied by an audible signal. When it occurs with the engine running, this indicates the start of saturation of the particulate emission filter (excep- tionally long periods of town type driving conditions: reduced speed, long tailbacks...).
To regenerate the filter, you are advised to drive as soon as possible and when traffic conditions permit at a speed of 35 mph(60 km/h) or more for at least five minutes (until the warning light goes out).
If the light remains on, contact a PEUGEOT dealer.Note: After prolonged operation of the vehicle at a very low speed or at idle, you may sometimes notice steam coming from
the exhaust during acceleration. This has no effect on the performance of the vehicle or on the environment.

List of status indicator lights SPORT suspension indicator light Display of this indicator light is accompanied by an audible signal. The indicator light comes on when the SPORTfunction is switched on.
Dynamic stability control (ESP/ASR) system disarming indicator light
Display of this indicator light when the system is disarmed is accompanied by an audible signal and the message
'ASR/ESP systems de-activated' on the multi-function display.
Dynamic stability control (ESP) system operation indicator light This comes on when the system starts to function. Diesel engine pre-heat indicator light
If the temperature is high enough, the indicator light does not come on and you can start the engine immediately.
If the indicator light does come on, wait for it to go out before operating the starter.
Air bag disarming indicator light* Display of this light is accompanied by an audible signal and the message 'Passenger air bag disarmed' on the
multi-function display.If the passenger air bag is disarmed, the indicator light comes on when the ignition is switched on (2nd notch).
In all cases, if the indicator light flashes, contact a PEUGEOT dealer. *According to country

Coolant temperature indicator When the needle is in zone A, the
temperature is correct. When the needle is in zone B, the
temperature is too high.In cases where the coolant tem- perature warning light comes on(linked to the STOPwarning light),
you must stop immediately.
Warning: wait for the engine to cool
down.
If necessary, top up the level.Because the cooling system is pres- surised, to prevent the risk of scald-ing, turn the cap two turns to allowthe pressure to drop. When the pressure has dropped, remove the cap and top up the level.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Engine oil level and temperature When the ignition is switched on, this gauge indicates the engine oil levelfor approximately 20 seconds, then itindicates the engine oil temperature. Engine oil level The reading is valid only if the vehi- cle is on level ground, and the
engine has been switched off for 10minutes. With the ignition on, wait for the graduated sector to light up and theindicator needle to move. When the needle is in zone C, the oil
level is correct.When the needle is in zone D, the oil
level is incorrect.There is a risk of damage to the engine.
 Check the level with the dipstick.
You must top up the level withoutexceeding the maximum level onthe gauge.
Engine oil temperature When the needle is in zone E, the
temperature is correct.When the needle is in zone F, the
temperature is too high.Reduce your speed to lower the temperature.
Service indicator and total distance recorder When the ignition is switched on, this indicates servicing information for afew seconds, then the total and tripdistances. Service functionSee the 'Service indicator' section.
Total distance recorder function The total distance is displayed on the left side of the screen and the tripdistance on the right side.

Language Select the required language, then confirm and record the modification. The system then asks you to load the language inn the navigation system. Select "YES" then confirm.

Insert the software CD-Rom into the drive in place of the map CD-Rom. After a few moments, the mesage
"Warning - ReprogrammingSequence" then the message "Navi-gation application - Processing"
apears, together with a progress bar. When the message "Software Load- ing End - Eject CD" appears, ejectthe software CD-Rom and insert themap CD-Rom into the drive. Check that the CD-Rom has loaded
correctly (see paragraph "Voice syn-thesis adjustment" in the chapterentitled "The satellite navigation sys-tem with colour screen"). Changing the colours

TELEPHONE: Audio/Telephone RT2 This function is a GSM 900 MHZ telephone incorporated in the audio system. It possesses a 'hands free'function, provided by a microphone located in the front courtesy light and a steering column
remote control which allows access to most of the functions. It also possesses a 'confidential' function, provided by the instrument panel located in the upper casing of the centre front
armrest. Note: An echo may be heard for a few seconds at the beginning of the call.
The principal "mobile"type functions are shown on the display incorporated in the audio system; the menu lists can be
referrred to on the multi-function display.This function is active when the ignition key is in the accessories position (1st notch), the ignition is switched on (2nd notch),
the engine is running or the vehicle is being driven. Note: when the ignition key is in the accessories position (1st notch) or the ignition is switched on (2nd notch), this function
will be interrupted after thirty minutes, when the message 'Economy mode active'appears on the multi-function display. If
you are using the telephone at that time, you will be able to finish your call.
General information about the display (Audio/Telephone RT2 display) In telephone mode, the display shows the following information, where applicable.
1.Network signal indicator (3 levels).
2. Service indicator not available.
3. Indicates a communication in progress.
4. Indicator showing connection to an outside network.
5. Indicates:
Ð when continuously lit: presence of an unread message or messages. Ð when flashing: the message tape is full.
6. Display zone (10 symbols x 2 lines).

9 - Switching off the system
 Press the 'OFF'
button.
This action switches
off the display and the
indicator lights and disarms all thesystem functions, with the exceptionof demisting of the rear screen.
 Press this button, button 5or one
of the two 'AUTO' buttons again to
reactivate the system with the val- ues which were present before it
was switched off.
10 - Air flow Press buttons '+'
and '-'respectively
to increase ordecrease the air
flow.
As the air flow is adjusted, the innersections of the air flow symbol (fan)are filled in accordingly on the dis-
play. 11 - Air intake/
Recirculation
 Press this button torecirculate the inte-
rior air.
Recirculation insulatesthe passenger com-
partment from outside smells andsmoke.
Avoid prolonged operation of inte- rior air recirculation (risk of con-densation and deterioration of airquality).
 Press this button again to returnair intake to automatic control. 12 - Demisting the
rear screen
 Press this button,with the enginerunning, to demistthe rear screen andthe mirrors.
Demisting stops automatically afterfifteen minutes.  Press again to resume demisting.
If the engine is switched off beforethe end of the fifteen minutes,demisting will resume when theengine is switched on again.
Note: it is possible to stop demisting
before it goes off automatically, bypressing the button again. Note: the condensation created by
the air conditioning system causes a flow of water under the vehicle when
stationary, which is perfectly normal.

Memorising using the buttons

 Adjust your seat and mirrors,
 Press button M,then button 1
(first driving position) or button 2
(second driving position) withinfour seconds.
An audible signal confirms that aposition has been memorised. Memorising a new position cancels the previous one. Recalling a memorised position Engine off  Briefly press button 1 or 2to recall
the corresponding memorised
position. The end of the setting isindicated by a bleep.
Note: after recalling a memorised
position five times in succession, thefunction will be cancelled until theengine is started. Engine running
 Keep button 1 or 2pressed down
until the bleep indicates the end of setting of the corresponding mem-orised position.
Memorising seat and mirror positions Four driving positions can be memo- rised:
Ð two, using two remote control
keys (two users) ,
Ð two, using buttons M/1 and M/2.
Driving positions memorised bythe remote control key When locking the doors, the remote control key memorises the positionof the driver's seat and the exteriormirrors. When unlocking the doors, the dri- ver's seat and the exterior mirrorsresume the position memorised bythe remote control key if this haschanged in the meantime. Each remote control key can memorise a specific setting. Front and rear heated seats controls
 Press the switch. The tempera-
ture is regulated automatically.
 Press it again to stop operation.
Note: the command to activate heat-
ing of the seat(s) remains in thememory for two minutes after the
ignition is switched off.
