Zero re-set Your PEUGEOT dealer carries out
this operation after each service.
However, if you carry out the service yourself, the re-set procedure is asfollows: ☞ Switch off the ignition,
☞ Press and hold the trip recorder re-set button,
☞ Switch on the ignition.
The distance remaining to the nextservice flashes. ☞ Press and hold the trip distance recorder zero reset button untilthe display indicates " =0" and the
service spanner disappears.
Important: after this operation, if you
wish to disconnect the battery, lockthe vehicle and wait for at least fiveminutes, otherwise the zero re-setwill not be registered. MAINTENANCE OF PARTS SUBJECT TO WEAR
AND A CHECK OF
CONSUMABLES Certain essential components on your vehicle are subject to checks at specific frequencies. ¥ The brake fluid is to be replaced at a maximum of every 36,000/40,000 miles
(60 000km) or every 2 years;
¥ The coolant is to be replaced every 72,000/80,000 miles (120 000 km) or
every 5 years;
¥ The passenger compartment filter must be checked at each service
by a PEUGEOT dealer (services and intermediate visits) or more often,
depending on the environment (dust, pollution, etc.);
¥ Replacement of the timing belt: contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
¥ Air bags and pretensioning parts on seat belts must be checked every
10 years .
¥ The check on tyre pressuresmust be carried out cold at least once a month.

COMPACT DISC: RADIO CD Selecting CD mode After insertion of a disc, printed face upwards, the player starts automatically. If a disc is already inserted, the message "CD" appears. Press the "SCR-SC" button to select the CD mode.
Ejection of a disc Press button Gto eject the disc from the player.
Selecting a track Press button Jto listen to the next track.
Press button Lto return to the start of the current track.
Press button Lagain to listen to the previous track.
Accelerated play Press and hold button K or Mrespectively for forwards or backwards accelerated play.
Accelerated play stops as soon as the button is released.
Shuffle (MIX) When CD mode is selected, press button R.
The tracks will be played in random sequence. Pressing button Ragain returns you to normal play.

Pause / Resume play Press button Oto pause the CD.
Press button Oagain to resume playing of the current track.
Scanning the tracks on the CD Press the "SRC-SC" button for more than two seconds.
Y ou will then hear each track on the CD for approximately ten seconds.
If you are interested in a track, press the "SRC-SC" button again to stop the scan.
Repetition of a track (RPT) Press button Sto listen to the last track played again.
Press button Sagain to stop repetition of the track.
Programming play (TPM) Press button Uto activate the function.
Select the required track using button Jor L. Confirm by pressing button U for approximately one second. A
confirmation bleep is heard with the message "STORED".
Repeat this procedure for each track to be programmed.
Clear the programme (CLR) To clear one track only, select it using button Jor L, then press button Tfor approximately two seconds.
A confirmation bleep is heard with the message "TR CLR".
Repeat this procedure for each track to be cleared.
To clear all of the tracks, press button U, then press button Tfor approximately four seconds. A double confirmation bleep is
heard with the message "CD CLR".
The use of copied compact discs may cause faults.

function.
The corresponding symbol appears on the display.Y ou will then hear approximately ten seconds of each track on the CD.
Repetition of a track or of the discSelect the "CD Setup" function from the "CD" source menu by turning knob H, then press this knob to confirm.
Select the "Repeat"function from the "CD Setup"menu by turning knob H, then press this knob to confirm.
Select the "Single" option for repetition of the current track.
Select the "Complete" option for repetition of the whole disc.
Select "OK"to apply the setting.
Displaying CD information Select the "CD Setup" function from the "CD" source menu by turning knob H, then press this knob to confirm.
Select the "Time display" function from the "CD Setup"menu by turning knob H, then press this knob to confirm.
Select the "Track time elapsed" option to display the time elapsed since the beginning of the track.
Select the "Total time elapsed" option to display the time elapsed since the beginning of the disc.
Select the "Total time remaining" option to display the time remaining to the end of the disc.
Select "OK" to apply the setting.
The use of recorded compact discs may cause malfunctions.

CHANGING A BULB Front lights Removing a headlamp unit: -
Open the bonnet,
- Unscrew the bolts Afrom the grille
to gain access to the unit 1,
- Unscrew the nuts Busing a wrench
and pull the unit 1outwards,
- Unclip the two strips C,
- Unclip the rubber protector D,
- Disconnect the connector. Note: handle the bulbs with a dry
cloth. 1 - Dipped beam headlamps
(H7-60W),
☞ Press and release the spring G,
☞ Extract the bulb holder Hto chan-
ge the bulb.
2 - Main beam headlamps (H1-60W),
☞ Press and release the spring E,
☞ Extract the bulb holder Fto chan-
ge the bulb.
3 - Front fog lamps (H1-60 W). ☞ Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.When fitting the new bulb, ensure that the direction notches are posi-tioned correctly and the securing clip
is fixed properly. Carry out the operations in the reverse order to refit. The headlamp units are fitted with polycarbonate glass with a protecti-ve coating. Do not clean them with
a dry or abrasive cloth, nor with adetergent or solvent product. Use
a sponge and soapy water.

Rear lights
1 - Brake lights (P 21 W).
2 - Reversing lights (P 21 W).
3 - Direction indicators (PY 21 W).
4 - Fog lamps / Side lights (P 21/4 W). ☞
Unscrew the two bolts Aand
release the unit,
☞ Disconnect the connector B,
☞ Unscrew the two bolts Cat the
rear of the unit,
☞ Change the faulty bulb.

Number plate lights (C 5 W) ☞Insert a thin screwdriver into one of the external holes of the lens.
☞ Push it outwards to unclip it.
☞ Remove the lens.
☞ Unscrew the bolt and release theassembly towards the right to
extract the bulb holder.
☞ Change the faulty bulb.
Chassis cab lights (W 5 W) ☞Unscrew the four bolts to gain access to the bulbs.
Third brake light (W 5 W) ☞
Unscrew the 2 fixing screws.
☞ Release the lamp unit by pushing it outwards.
☞ Disconnect the connector.
☞ Squeeze the two tabs to release
the bulb holder.
☞ Change the faulty bulb.
☞ When refitting, ensure that thelamp unit seal has been put back
in place correctly.

BATTERY
To
charge the battery using a battery charger:
- Disconnect the battery,
- Follow the instructions for use given by the battery charger manufacturer,
- Reconnect starting with the negative (-) terminal,
- Check that the terminals and connectors are clean. If they are covered with sul- phate (white or greenish deposit), disconnect them and clean them.
To start the vehicle from another battery:
- Connect the red cable to the positive (+) terminals of the two batteries,
- Connect one end of the green or black cable to the negative (-) terminal of the
slave battery,
- Connect the other end of the green or black cable to an earth point on the bro-
ken down vehicle as far as possible from the battery.
Operate the starter, let the engine run. W ait for the engine to return to idle, then disconnect the cables.
- Never disconnect a ter-
minal when the engine is running.
- Never charge a battery without first disconnecting the terminals.
- After every disconnection of the
battery, switch on the ignitionand wait 1 minute before startingto allow the electronic systems tobe initialised. If slight difficultiesare experienced after this, please
contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
It is advisable to disconnect the battery if the vehicle is not to be used for a period of more than one month.
