Wheel Securing Bolts

The wrench socketforthe wheel securing boltsis
in the tool pocket.
To loosen ortighten thewheel boltwith anti-theft
protection, awrench socketwiththeappropriate
coding mustbeused between thewheel boltand
the wheel-bolt spanner.

When positioning thewrench socket, ensure
that itengages fullyinthe teeth ofthe wheel
bolt.
If the wheels havetobe removed atthe workshop,
please donot forget tohand overthewrench
socket forthe wheel securing boltsalong withthe
car key.

5. Remove 1or 2wheel bolts(seerespective
illustration). Removeassembly aidsfrom tool
kit and screw ininstead ofthe wheel bolts.
Remove theremaining wheelbolts.
6. Take thewheel offand putanew wheelan. 7.
Please observe thechapter "WHEEL BOLTS"
on Page 150.
Screw inwheel bolts;remove assembly aids
and screw inthe remaining wheelbolts.Initially
tighten boltsindiagonally oppositesequence
so that thewheel iscentered.
8. Lower thecar completely.
9. Tighten wheelboltsindiagonally opposite
sequence.

Immediately afterchanging awheel, usea
torque wrench tocheck theprescribed
tightening torque(130Nm/96 ftlb.).
Note

The tools required forchanging awheel (e.g.jack,
wheel boltwrench) arenotsupplied withthecar.

electronic systems,electrical accessories should
be installed atyour authorized Porschedealer.

The status ofthe central locking andalarm system
is not changed bydisconnecting thebattery.
When thebattery isdisconnected, thealarm sys-
tem ceases tofunction.

Overload protection

If the central locking systemisoperated more
than tentimes within aminute, furtheroperation is
blocked for30seconds.

switched onorinstandby (e.g.power windows,

standby function isswitched off(toprevent dis-
charging ofthe vehicle battery).
1. Inthis case, unlock thedriver's doorwiththe
key atthe door lock.
Leave thedoor closed inorder toprevent the
alarm system frombeing triggered.
2. Press button 1on the remote control.
The remote controlisnow activated again.

Replacing fuses

In order toprevent damage tocables andconsum-
ers inthe electrical systemduetoshort circuits
and overloads, theindividual circuitsareprotect-
ed byfuses.
The fuse boxisat lower leftinthe driver's footwell
and isprotected withaplastic cover.

Unlocking lids
1. Use thekey tounlock thevehicle atthe door
lock.
Leave thekey inthe door lock.
2. Remove plasticcoveroverthefuse box.
3. Pullout positive terminal Ainthe fuse box.
4. Use ajumper cabletoconnect thepositive
terminal ofthe donor battery withpositive
terminal Ainthe fuse box.

5. Use thesecond jumpercabletoconnect the
negative terminalofthe donor battery with
latch striker

7. Unlock theengine compartment lidorluggage
compartment lidwith theswitch. 8.
Disconnect thenegative cablefirst,thenthe
positive cable.
9. Push positive terminal Ainto thefuse boxand
push onthe plastic fuseboxcover.

The engine cannot bestarted withthismethod.

Generally, theelectrolyte levelmust bechecked
more ofteninsummer thaninthe winter, andmore
often when driving longdistances.

When adding water,useonly clean vessels.
In no case mayalcohol (e.g.window cleaner
residues) bepermitted toenter thebattery.

I>
Unscrew andopen thefiller ventcaps ofeach
cell.
With thecarhorizontal, thefluid level should meet
the indicator markineach cell.

Ifnecessary, topupwith distilled water.
Do not use acid.
Only fillup tothe mark, otherwise theelectro-
lyte willoverflow whenthebattery isbeing
charged andcause damage. Battery

Automotive batteriesloosetheirefficiency when
not inuse.
The charge available inyour battery canbemea-
sured withabattery hydrometer.
We recommend thatthebattery voltage betested
by your Porsche dealerwhohastheappropriate
equipment.
If the car isnot driven forprolonged periods,the
battery mustbecharged atleast every 6weeks.
A discharged batteryallowsrapidformation ofsul-
fates, leading topremature deterioration ofthe
plates.

Slow
battery charging

1. Pay attention toallwarnings andfollow instruc-
tions thatcome withyour battery charger.
2. When charging, ensureadequate ventilation.
3. Remove battery.

4. Allvent caps should beopen.
The fluid level should meettheindicator mark
in each cell.
5. Ensure thatcharger isswitched off-danger of
short circuit!
6. Connect chargercables.

During thewinter months, batterycapacity tends
to decrease astemperatures drop.
Additionally, morepower isconsumed whilestart-
ing, andtheheadlights, heater,rearwindow de-
fogger, etc.,areused more frequently.

Replacing battery
The service lifeofthe battery issubject tonormal
wear; itdepends graetlyoncare, climatic condi-
tions, anddriving conditions (distances, loads).

Replacing theremote-control battery

A weak battery mayberecognized bythe clearly
reduced actionrangeofthe remote controlor
when the
light-emitting diode2
inthe key grip
no longer flashes whentheremote controlis
operated. 1.
Using yourfinger nailorasmall screwdriver,
carefully liftoff the cover ofthe key grip.
2. Replace battery(observe polarity).
A spare battery (Lithium CR2032, 3volts) is
available atyour authorized Porschedealer.
3. Replace coverandpress together firmly.
