Interior rear view mirror
This is adjustable. When driving at
night, to avoid being blinded by the
headlights of a following vehicle,
lower the small lever1located
behind the rear view mirror.
Adjusting the steering wheel
On certain vehicles, the position of
the steering wheel can be adjusted.
Lift lever2and set the steering
wheel in the required position.
Lower the lever to lock the steering
wheel.
For safety reasons, only
adjust the steering
wheel when the vehicle
is stationary.

Side lights
Turn the end of stalk1to
align the symbol opposite the
mark3.
The instrument panel lights up. The
brightness of the lights can be
modified by turning wheel2,ifthis
feature is fitted to the vehicle.
Dipped beam headlights
Automatic operation
With the engine running, vehicles
fitted with alight sensor,the
dipped beam headlights light up
automatically as light begins to
fade; stalk1does not need to be
turned (position 0).
To deactivate or reactivate this
function, move the end of stalk1
twice consecutively from 0 to side
light position, with the engine
stopped and the ignition on.Automatic operation (continued)
A bleep confirms the deactivation of
this function, and two bleeps
confirm its reactivation.
Manual operation
Turn the end of stalk1until the
symbol appears opposite mark3.
An indicator light lights up on the
instrument panel in all cases.
Headlight main beam
When the dipped beam
headlights are on, turn stalk1
towards you (an indicator light
lights up on the instrument panel).
To return to the dipped headlight
position, pull the stalk towards you.
Switching off the lights
Turn the end of stalk1back
to its original position.
Before setting out to drive at night:
check that the electrical equipment is in good condition and adjust the headlight beams (if your vehicle is not
carrying its normal load). Check that the lights are not obscured (by dirt, mud, snow or objects which could
cover them).

WINDSCREEN WASHER/WIPER(continued)
Windscreen washer,
headlight washers
With the ignition on, pull stalk1
towards you.
A short press triggers one sweep
cycle of the wiper, while a longer
press triggers three cycles.
•Car lights off
You activate the windscreen
washer and wiper.
This will make another sweep
after a few seconds.•Carheadlightson
Press for longer than one second
to activate the windscreen washer
and headlight washer devices
simultaneously.
In frosty weather, make sure that
the wiper blades are not stuck by
ice (risk of motor overheating).
Keep an eye on the condition of
the blades. Change the wiper
blades as soon as they become
less efficient (approximately
once a year).
If you switch off the ignition
before switching off the
windscreen wiper (positionA)
the blades will stop at random on
the windscreen.

Press on the central cushion of
steering wheel2.
Headlight flasher
To flash your headlights, even if the
lights are not in use, pull the stalk1
towards you.
Special case
If automatic operation for dipped
headlights is activated, first pull
stalk1towards you to light the main
beam headlight then again to turn
them off.
Hazard warning lights
Press switch3.
This switch lights up all four
indicators at the same time.
It is to be used in cases of danger to
warn other road users that you:
• are obliged to stop in a normally
prohibited location,
• are obliged to drive under
particular conditions.
Direction indicators
Move stalk1parallel to the steering
wheel and in the direction in which
you are going to turn.
When driving on the motorway, the
steering wheel is not often turned
far enough to return the stalk
automatically to position0. There is
an intermediate position in which
the stalk can be held when changing
lanes.
When the stalk is released, it
automatically returns to0.

What you should do
• Wash your car frequently, using our
recommended cleaning products
anduseahighpressurejettorinse
off the wheel arches and under the
body to get rid of:
- spots of tree resin and industrial
grime;
-bird droppings, which contain
chemicals whichrapidly
discolour paintwork and may
even cause the paint to peel off;
The vehiclemustbe washed
immediately to remove these
marks since they cannot be
removed by polishing;
- salt from the wheel arches and
under the body, after the vehicle
has been driven in areas where
the roads are chemically treated;
- mud forming damp patches in
the wheel arches and under the
body.• Keep well away from the vehicle
in front when driving on a freshly
laid surface to avoid damage to
your paintwork.
• Have patches where the paint has
been damaged repaired quickly to
avoid corrosion spreading.
• If your vehicle is covered by the
Renault anti-corrosion warranty,
remember to visit the bodyshop
periodically. Refer to your vehicle’s
Warranty and Servicing booklet.
• Respect local regulations relating
to washing your vehicle (e.g. do
not wash your vehicle on a public
highway).• Before using a revolving brush
type car wash, check the mounting
of exterior equipment, additional
headlights and rear view mirrors.
Secure the wiper blades and radio
aerial with adhesive tape.
Remove the car phone aerial if the
vehicle has one.
• If mechanical components such
as hinges have to be cleaned, their
protection must be reapplied by
spraying on products approved
by Renault's Technical Department.

Headlight main beam
Remove the coverA.
Unclip bulb connector1.
Disengage the springs2and remove

Turn the connector a quarter of a

Do not touch the Halogen bulb
glass. Hold it by its base.
Front side lights
Remove the bulb holder5to access
the bulb.

When the bulb has been changed,
please refit the cover.
Cleaning the headlights
As the headlights have plastic
lenses, use a soft cloth or cotton
wool.
If this is not sufficient, use a soft
cloth (or cotton wool) dampened
with soapy water then rinse using a
soft cloth or cotton wool.
Carefullydry off using a soft, dry
cloth.
Alcohol based cleaning products
must not be used under any
circumstances.
As the headlights are
fitted with plastic
“lenses”, it is essential to
use anti-UV bulbs.
(If other bulbs are used, this may
damage the headlight).
It is advisable to carry a set of
spare bulbs for emergencies.

HEADLIGHTS WITH XENON BULBS: replacing bulbs
Dipped beam headlights with
xenon bulbs
They are marked on the label3
under the coverB.
This type of headlight bulb must be
changed by a RENAULT Dealer.
Bulb type: D2S.
A special mounting is
required to fit this type of
headlight.It is not
permitted to fit a headlight
fitted with xenon bulbs to a vehicle
which was not designed to accept
it.
Main beam headlights
Remove coverA.
Turn the connector1a quarter of a
turn and remove the bulb.
Type of bulb: anti U.V. (see box).
Do not touch the Halogen bulb
glass. Hold it by its base.
When the bulb has been changed,
refit coverAcorrectly.
As headlights are fitted
with plastic lenses, you
must use anti-UV 55 W
bulbs.(Using any other
type of H1 bulb may damage the
headlight).
It is advisable to carry a set of
spare bulbs for emergencies.

Cleaning headlights
As the headlights are made with
plastic lenses, use a soft cloth or
cotton wool to clean them.
If this does not clean them properly,
use a soft cloth or cotton wool
slightly moistened with soapy water
and then wipe clean with a soft
damp cloth.
Finally,carefullydryoffwithasoft
dry cloth.
Cleaning products containing
alcohol must not be used under any
circumstances.
