Co\fpact Disc with MP3 or WMA (if
equipped)
Explanation of terms:
. MP3 — MP3 is short for Moving Pictures Experts
Group Audio Layer 3\b MP3 is the \fost well known
co\fpressed digital audio file for\fat\b This for\fat
allows for near “CD quality” sound, but at a
fraction of the size of nor\fal audio files\b MP3
conversion of an audio track fro\f CD can reduce
the file size by approxi\fately 10:1 ratio (Sa\fpling:
44\b1 kHz, Bit rate: 128 kbps) with virtually no
perceptible loss in quality\b MP3 co\fpression
re\foves the redundant and irrelevant parts of a
sound signal that the hu\fan ear doesn’t hear\b
. WMA — Windows Media Audio (WMA) is a
co\fpressed audio for\fat created by Microsoft as
an alternative to MP3\b The WMA codec offers
greater file co\fpression than the MP3 codec,
enabling storage of \fore digital audio tracks in the
sa\fe a\fount of space when co\fpared to MP3s at the sa\fe level of quality\b
. Bit rate — Bit rate denotes the nu\fber of bits per
second used by a digital \fusic files\b The size and
quality of a co\fpressed digital audio file is
deter\fined by the bit rate used when encoding
the file\b
. Sa\fpling frequency — The rate at which the
sa\fples of a signal are converted fro\f analog to
digital (A/D conversion) per second\b
. Multisession — Multisession is one of the \fethods
for writing data to \fedia\b Writing data once to the
\fedia is called a single session, and writing \fore
than once is called a \fultisession\b
. ID3/WMA Tag — The ID3/WMA tag is the part of
the encoded MP3 or WMA file that contains
infor\fation about the digital \fusic file such as
song title, artist, albu\f title, encoding bit rate,
track ti\fe duration, etc\b ID3 tag infor\fation is
displayed on the Albu\f/Artist/Song title line on
the display\b

The na\fes of folders not containing MP3 or WMA
