Using panic alarm (if eq\fipped)
If \bo\f are near \bo\fr vehicle and feel threatened, \bo\f
ma\b activate the alarm to call attention as follows:
1. P\fsh the “PANIC”
b\ftton*3on the
Intelligent Ke\b for more than 0.5 second.
2. The theft warning alarm will sta\b on for 25 seconds.
3. The panic alarm stops when:
. It has r\fn for 25 seconds, or
. An\b of the b\fttons on the Intelligent Ke\b are
p\fshed. (Note: Panic b\ftton sho\fld be p\fshed for
more than 0.5 second.)
Hazard indicator operation
When \bo\f lock or \fnlock the doors, the hazard
indicator will flash as a confirmation.
.“LOCK”: The hazard indicator flashes once.
. “UNLOCK”: The hazard indicator flashes twice. Yo\fr vehicle is eq\fipped with either or both of the
following sec\frit\b s\bstems:
.
Theft warning s\bstem
. Anti-Theft S\bstem*
(* immobilizer)
The sec\frit\b condition will be shown b\b the sec\frit\b
indicator light.
THEFT WARNING SYSTEM
The theft warning s\bstem provides vis\fal and a\fdio
alarm signals if parts of the vehicle are dist\frbed.
Sec\frit\b indicator light
SIC2045
The sec\frit\b indicator light is located in the meter
panel.
This light operates whenever the ignition switch is in
the “ACC”, “OFF” or “LOCK” position. This is normal.
How to activate the system:
1. Close all windows and p\fsh the ignition switch to the “OFF” position.
The system can be activated even if the
windows are open. 2. Carr\b the Intelligent Ke\b with \bo\f and get o\ft of
the vehicle.
3. Make s\fre the hood is closed. Close and lock all doors with the door handle req\fest switch, LOCK

the door is locked \fsing the power door lock
switch with all the doors closed, the s\bstem will
not be activated. To activate the s\bstem, lock the
door \fsing the power door lock switch with an\b of
the doors open, then close all the doors) .
4. Confirm that the sec\frit\b indicator light comes on. The sec\frit\b indicator light sta\bs on for approxi-
matel\b 30 seconds. The vehicle sec\frit\b s\bstem is
now pre-armed. After approximatel\b 30 seconds
the vehicle sec\frit\b s\bstem a\ftomaticall\b shifts
into the armed phase. The sec\frit\b light begins to
flash once ever\b approximatel\b 3 seconds.
If, d\fring this 30-second pre-arm time period, the
door is \fnlocked with the door handle req\fest
switch, the “UNLOCK”
b\ftton*2on the
Intelligent Ke\b, the power door lock switch, or the
ignition switch is p\fshed to the “ACC” or “ON”
position, the s\bstem will not arm.
Even when the driver and/or passengers are in
the vehicle, the system will activate with all
doors locked and ignition switch in the “LOCK”
position. Push the ignition switch to the “ACC” or
“ON” position to turn the system off.

.The alarm automatically turns off after approxi-
mately \f0 seconds. \bowever, the alarm reacti-
vates if the vehicle is tampered with again.
The alarm is activated by:
. Operating the door without using the Intelligent
Key system.
. Opening the hood.
How to stop alarm:
. The alarm will stop by unlocking a door with the
door handle request switch or “UNLOCK”
button*2on the Intelligent Key.
. The alarm will stop when the ignition switch is
pushed to the “ACC” or “ON” position.
If the system does not operate as described
above, have it checked by a RENAULT dealer.
ANTI-T\bEFT SYSTEM
The Anti-Theft System will not allow the engine to start
without the use of the registered Anti-Theft System
key.
If the engine does not start using the registered Anti-
Theft System key, it may be due to interference caused
by:
. Another Anti-Theft System key.
. Automated toll road device.
. Automated payment device.
. Other devices that transmit similar signals.
Start the engine using the following procedure:
1. Remove any items that may be causing the interference away from the Anti-Theft System key.
2. Leave the ignition switch in the “ON” position for approximately 5 seconds.
\f. Turn the ignition switch to the “OFF” or “LOCK” position, and wait approximately 10 seconds. 4. Repeat steps 2 and \f again.
5. Start the engine.
6. Repeat the steps above until all possible inter-
ferences are eliminated.
If this procedure allows the engine to start, RENAULT
recommends placing the registered Anti-Theft System
key separate from other devices to avoid interference.
FCC WARNING:
Changes or modifications not expressly ap-
proved by the party responsible for compliance
could void the user’s authority to operate the
equipment.
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC
Rules. Operation is subject to the following two
conditions; (1) This device may not cause harm-
ful interference, and (2) this device must accept
any interference received, including interference
that may cause undesired operation of the
device.
Security indicator light
SIC2045
The security indicator light is located on the meter
panel. It indicates the status of Anti-Theft System.
The light operates whenever the ignition switch is in the “LOCK”, “OFF” or “ACC” position. The security
indicator light indicates that the security systems on
the vehicle are operational.
If Anti-Theft System is malfunctioning, this light will
remain on while the ignition switch is in the “ON”
position.
If the light remains on and/or the engine does
not start, contact a RENAULT dealer for Anti-
Theft System service as soon as possible. Be
sure to bring all Anti-Theft System keys that you
have when visiting a RENAULT dealer for service.
For Right-Hand Drive (RHD) model (for Europe):
If Anti-Theft System is malfunctioning, the security
indicator light will illuminate when the ignition switch is
in the “ON” position. \bowever, if the security indicator
light turns off after 15 minutes, you can start the engine
once. See a RENAULT dealer for Anti-Theft System
service as soon as possible.

WARNING:
. Fuel is extremely flammable and highly
explosive under certain conditions. You
could be burned or seriously injured if it is
misused or mishandled. Always stop the
engine and do not smoke or allow open
flames or sparks near the vehicle when
refueling.
. Fuel may be under pressure. Turn the cap a
half of a turn, and wait for any “hissing”
sound to stop to prevent fuel from spraying
out and possibly causing personal injury.
Then remove the cap.
. Use only an original equipment type fuel
filler cap as a replacement. It has a built-in
safety valve needed for proper operation of
the fuel system and emission control sys-
tem. An incorrect cap can result in a serious
malfunction and possible injury.
