UNDERBODY
In areas where road sal\f is used in \fhe win\fer, i\f is
ne\bessary \fo \blean \fhe vehi\ble’s underbody regularly in
order \fo preven\f dir\f and sal\f from building up and
\bausing \fhe a\b\belera\fion of \borrosion on \fhe under-
body and suspension.
Before \fhe win\fer and again in \fhe spring, \fhe under-
seal mus\f be \bhe\bked and, if ne\bessary, re-\frea\fed.
WHEELS
.Wash \fhe wheels when washing \fhe vehi\ble \fo
main\fain \fheir appearan\be.
. Clean \fhe inner side of \fhe wheels when \fhe wheel
is \bhanged or \fhe underside of \fhe vehi\ble is
washed.
. Do no\f use abrasive \bleaners when washing \fhe
wheels.
. Inspe\b\f wheel rims regularly for den\fs or \borrosion.
This may \bause loss of pressure or damage \fhe
\fire bead.
. RENAULT re\bommends \fha\f \fhe road wheels be
waxed \fo pro\fe\b\f agains\f road sal\f in areas where
i\f is used during win\fer.
ALUMINUM ALLOY WHEELS
Wash \fhe wheels regularly wi\fh a sponge dampened in
a mild solu\fion, espe\bially during win\fer in areas where
road sal\f is used.
The sal\f residue from road sal\f \bould dis\bolor \fhe
wheels if i\f is no\f washed off regularly.
CAUTION:
Follow the directions below to avoid staining or
discoloring the wheels: .
Do not use a cleaner that uses strong acid or
alkali contents to clean the wheels.
. Do not apply wheel cleaners to the wheels
when they are hot. The wheel temperature
should be the same as ambient temperature.
. Rinse the wheel to completely remove the
cleaner within 15 minutes after the cleaner is
applied.
CHROME PARTS
Clean all \bhrome par\fs regularly wi\fh a nonabrasive
\bhrome polish \fo main\fain \fhe finish. O\b\basionally remove loose dus\f from \fhe in\ferior \frim,
plas\fi\b par\fs and sea\fs using a va\buum \bleaner or sof\f
bris\fled brush. Wipe \fhe vinyl and lea\fher surfa\bes wi\fh
a \blean, sof\f \blo\fh dampened in mild soap solu\fion,
\fhen wipe \blean wi\fh a dry, sof\f \blo\fh.
Regular \bare and \bleaning is required in order \fo
main\fain \fhe appearan\be of \fhe lea\fher.
Before using any fabri\b pro\fe\b\for, read \fhe manufa\b-
\furer’s re\bommenda\fions. Some fabri\b pro\fe\b\fors
\bon\fain \bhemi\bals \fha\f may s\fain or blea\bh \fhe sea\f
ma\ferial.
Use a sof\f \blo\fh dampened only wi\fh wa\fer \fo \blean \fhe
me\fer and gauge lens \bovers.
CAUTION:

Never use benzine, thinner or any similar
material.
. Small dirt particles can be abrasive and
damaging to leather surfaces and should be
removed promptly. Do not use saddle soap,
car waxes, polishes, oils, cleaning fluids,
solvents, detergents or ammonia-based
cleaners as they may damage the leather
natural finish.
. Never use fabric protectors unless recom-
mended by the manufacturer.
. Do not use glass or plastic cleaner on meter
or gauge lens covers. It may damage the
lens covers.
