1. To remove the panel that covers the radiator
cap, detach fasteners and lift off panel.
2. Remove the radiator pressure cap when the
cooling system, including the upper radiator
hose, is no longer hot. Turn the pressure cap
slowly counterclockwise about one full turn.
If you hear a hiss, wait for that to stop. A hiss
means there is still some pressure left.3. Keep turning the
pressure cap slowly,
and remove it.
4. Fill the radiator with the proper DEX-COOL®
coolant mixture, up to the base of the ller
neck. SeeEngine Coolant on page 396
for more information about the proper coolant
mixture.

License Plate Lamp
To replace one of these bulbs:
1. Remove the two screws holding each of the
license plate lamps to the liftgate trim.
2. Turn and pull the license plate lamp forward
through the lift gate trim opening.3. Turn the bulb socket counterclockwise and pull
the bulb straight out of the socket.
4. Install the new bulb.
5. Reverse steps1–3toreinstall the license
plate lamp.

Removing the Spare Tire and Tools
The tools needed to remove the spare tire are
located in the storage compartment on the driver
side, at the rear of the vehicle.
1. Open the jack storage compartment by
squeezing down on the latch tab and
pulling the cover off.

C. Jack2. Remove the wing bolt (B) by turning it
counterclockwise
3. Push the jack (C) up out of the holding
bracket.
4. Turn the jack on its side, with the bottom
facing toward you.
5. Pull the jack straight out, bottom rst.
The tools you will be using include the jack (A)
and lug wrench (B).

Removing the Spare Tire
The compact spare tire is located under the
vehicle, in front of the rear bumper. SeeCompact
Spare Tire on page 463for more information
about the compact spare.

Assembly1. Open the storage compartment door of the
convenience center that is nearest the liftgate.
2. Move the carpet cutout that is located through
the hole of the storage compartment.
3. Attach the lug wrench into the hoist shaft.
4. Turn the lug wrench counterclockwise to lower
the spare tire to the ground. Continue turning
the wrench until the spare tire can be pulled out
from under the vehicle.
5. Tilt the retainer and slip it through the wheel
opening to remove the spare tire from the
cable.
