wheel c over off. n Installing the wheel cover

Alig n the valve with the valve hole in the c over, t hen fit the c over on
the wheel b y tap p ing your hand evenly around the c i rc umferenc e of
the c over. NOTE When any of the wheels is removed and replaced for tire rotation or to change a flat tire, always check the tightness of the wheelnuts after driving approximately 600 miles (1,000 km). If any nut isloose, tighten it to the specified torque.

When any of the wheels is removed and rep lac ed for tire rotation or to
c hang e a flat, always c hec k the tig htness of the wh eel nuts after d riving
ap p roximately 600 miles (1,000 km). If any nut is l oose, tig hten it to the
sp ec ified torq ue. Never ap p ly oil to the thread ed p arts, wheel nuts, or tap ered surfac e
of the wheel. Never let the wheel rub ag ainst sharp p rotrusions o r c urb s.
Be sure to fit tire c hains on uniformly and c omp let ely around the tire,
otherwise the c hains may sc ratc h the wheel. When wheel nuts, b alanc e weig hts, or the c enter c ap are rep lac ed ,
b e sure to rep lac e them with g enuine SUBARU p arts d esig ned for alumi-
num wheels. Fuses

The fuses are d esig ned to melt d uring an overload t o p revent d amag e to
the wiring harness and elec tric al eq uip ment. The fu ses are loc ated in
two fuse b oxes.
If any lig hts, ac c essories or other elec tric al c ont rols d o not op erate, in-
sp ec t the c orresp ond ing fuse. If a fuse has b lown, rep lac e it.

CAUTION
Never replace a fuse with one having a higher rating or with mate-
rial other than a fuse because serious damage or a fire could re-sult.
Fuse box (behind the coin tray)
1. Turn the ig nition switc h to the “LOCK ” p osition and turn off all elec -
tric al ac c essories.

3. Determine whic h fuse may b e b lown. The b ac k sid e of the c oin
tray and the “Fuse and c irc uits ” sec tion in c hap ter 11 in this manual
show the c irc uit for eac h fuse.

4. Pull out the fuse with the fuse p uller. The fuse p uller is stored in the
main fuse b ox c over in the eng ine c omp artment.

the same sp ec ified rating as the melted main fuse o r fusib le link. If a
main fuse or fusib le link b lows after it is rep lac e d , have the elec tric al sys-
tem c hec ked b y your nearest SUBARU d ealer.
Installation of accessories
Always c onsult your SUBARU d ealer b efore installing fog lig hts or any
other elec tric al eq uip ment in your vehic le. Suc h ac c essories may c ause
the elec tronic system to malfunc tion if they are in c orrec tly installed or if
they are not suited for the vehic le.

Replacing bulbs
Headlight
CAUTION
Halogen headlight bulbs become very hot while in use. If you touch the bulb surface with bare hands or greasy gloves, fingerprints or grease on the bulb surface develop into hot spots, caus-ing the bulb to break. If there are finger prints or grease on thebulb surface, wipe them away with a soft cloth moistened with al-cohol.

3. Rep lac e the b ulb , then set the retainer sp ring se c urely.

the elec tric al c onnec tor.

1. Remove the p arking lig ht assemb ly mounting sc rew loc ated at the top
of the head lig ht assemb ly using the p hillip s sc rewd river.
2. Move the p arking lig ht assemb ly forward until it p op s out from the
fend er.
3. Remove the b ulb hold er from the p arking lig ht ass emb ly b y turning it
c ounterc loc kwise.
4. Pull the b ulb out of the soc ket. Install a new b u lb .
5. Set the b ulb hold er into the p arking lig ht assemb ly and turn it c loc k-
wise until it loc ks.
6. Set the p arking lig ht assemb ly into the fend er. T ig hten the mounting
sc rew.
