20. HEADLAMP LEVELING SWITCH
(a) Connect the battery positive (+) lead to the terminal 1 and
the battery negative (±) lead to the terminal 5.
(b) Measure the resistance between the terminal 2 and the battery negative (±) lead when headlamp leveling switch
is operated.
(c) Measure the resistance between the terminal 4 and the
battery negative (±) lead when headlamp leveling switch
is operated.
Standard:

(d) Inspect switch illumination.
(1) Connect the battery positive (+) lead to the terminal3 and the battery negative (±) lead to the terminal
5, and check that the illumination comes on.
21. STOP LAMP SWITCH ASSY (W/O CRUISE CONTROL)
(a) Check the continuity between each of the terminals when switch is operat\

24. HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB±ASSY FR RH
(a) Connect the 3 dry cell batteries (1.5 V) in series.
(b) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to the termi- nal 1 and negative (±) lead from the battery to the terminal

(c) Measure voltage between the terminal 2 and the terminal 3 when slowly move the link up and down.
Standard:

REPLACEMENT
1. REMOVE REAR COMBINATION LAMP ASSY LH
(a) Remove the service hole cover LH.
(b) Disconnect the connector. (c) Remove the 3 nuts and the rear combination lamp assyLH.
(d) SEDAN: Remove the combination lamp socket and the 6 lamp
bulbs.
(e) WAGON:
Remove the combination lamp socket and the 3 lamp
bulbs.
(f) LIFTBACK: Remove the combination lamp socket and the 4 lamp
bulbs.

1. REMOVE SIDE TURN SIGNAL LAMP ASSY LH
(a) Disengage the claw by pulling it forward.
(b) Take the socket off and remove the side turn signal lamp
assy LH.

REPLACEMENT
1.REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER (See page 76±3)
2. R E M O V E H E A D L A M P WA S H E R A C T U ATO RSUB±ASSY LH
(a) Separate the headlamp cleaner hose from the headlamp washer actuator sub±assy.
(b) Pull out the headlamp cleaner washer nozzle.
(c) Disengage the 2 claws, remove the headlamp cleaner washer nozzle.
(d) Remove the 2 bolts.
(e) Deform the upper part of the headlamp washer actuator sub±assy LH, to remove it.

RAIN SENSOR
REPLACEMENT
1. REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR STAY HOLDER COVER 2. REMOVE RAIN SENSOR
(a) Disengage the 3 claws and remove the mirror stay holdercover.
(b) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the rain sensor cover.
(c) Disconnect the connector.
(d) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the rain sensor spring cover.
(e) Remove the rain sensor.
3. INSTALL RAIN SENSOR
(a) Install the rain sensor and rain sensor spring cover.
(b) Connect the connector and install the rain sensor cover and the mirror s\
tay holder cover.

NOTICE:
Check if there is any SilGel, which of the rain sensor that has been removed,\
left on the wind-
shield glass and remove it if there is any.
Clean the dirt on the glass with a cloth etc.
When installing a new rain sensor, peel the transparent protective cap off the SilGel first.
Be careful not to let any air bubble in the rain sensor when installing \
it.

REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSY
REPLACEMENT
1.REMOVE REAR WIPER ARM ASSY
(a)Remove the nut and the rear wiper arm.
2.REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM BOARD ASSY (See page LIFTBACK 75±40, WAGON 75±45)
3. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSY
(a) Remove the 3 bolts.
(b) Disconnect the connector, and remove the rear wiper mo-tor assy.
4. INSTALL REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSY
(a) Install the rear wiper motor assy with the 3 bolts. Torque: 5.5 N m (56 kgf cm, 49 in. lbf)
(b) Connect the connector.

5. INSTALL REAR WIPER ARM ASSY
(a) Scrape off the serration part of the wiper arm with a round file or equivalent.
(b) Clean the rear wiper pivot serration with a brush.
(c) Stop the rear wiper motor assy to the automatic stop posi- tion. Install the rear wiper arm to the position as shown in
the illustration.
Torque: 5.5 N m (56 kgf cm, 49 in. lbf)
