2. Passenger side:
INSPECT FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH
(a) Inspect the resistance between the terminals when each
switch is operated.
Standard:

3. Driver side seat:

4. INSPECT POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSY
(a) Inspect operation of the slide motor. (1) Check that the motor rotates smoothly when the
battery is connected to the motor connector termi-
nals.
Standard:

If the result is not as specified, replace the motor assy.
(b) Driver side seat:
Inspect operation of the front vertical motor.
(1) Check that the motor rotates smoothly when thebattery is connected to the front vertical motor con-
nector terminals.

motor connector terminals.

OVERHAUL
CAUTION:

Wear safety gloves, because the cutting surface of the seatback frame and se\
at adjuster may
injure your hand.

Work must be started more than 90 seconds after the ignition switch is turne\
d to the LOCK posi-
tion and the negative (±) terminal cable is disconnected from the b\
attery.
(The SRS is equipped with a back±up power source. If work is started within 90 se\
conds from
disconnecting the negative (±) terminal cable of the battery, the SRS may be deployed.)
HINT:

The installation is in the reverse order of the removal. However, when there is a special point concern-
ing the installation, it is indicated.

Use the same procedures on the RH side as on the LH side.
1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Remove the headrest.
(b) Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 seat track covers.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(c) Disconnect the connectors under the seat.
(d) Remove the 4 bolts and seat.
2. REMOVE VERTICAL SEAT ADJUSTER KNOB
(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the vertical seat adjusterknob cap and vertical seat adjuster knob.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
3. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE LH
(a) Hold up the reclining adjuster release handle.
(b) Using a screwdriver, remove the hooks and reclining ad- juster knob cap.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(c) Using a screwdriver, remove the hooks and reclining ad- juster release handle.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

4. REMOVE RECLINING CONTROL LEVER LH
(a) Using a hexagon wrench, remove the 2 bolts and reclining control lever.
5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH
(a) Remove the 2 screws and seat cushion shield LH.
6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH
(a) Remove the nut and inner belt. 7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER LH
(a) Remove the 2 screws and seat cushion shield.
8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT RECLINING HOUSING SUB±ASSY LH
(a) Using a hexagon wrench, remove the 3 bolts and seat reclining housing.
9. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK ASSY
(a) Using a hexagon wrench, remove the 4 bolts and front seatback.
10. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER
(a) Disengage the seatback cover hook.
(b) Remove the 2 headrest supports.
(c) Remove the hog rings and seatback cover.
11. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK SPRING ASSY
(a) Remove the pad from the seatback spring.
12. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER
(a) Disengage the seat cushion cover hook.
(b) Remove the hog rings and seat cushion cover together with the pad from t\
he seat cushion frame.
(c) Remove the hog rings and seat cushion pad from the seat cushion cover.
13. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSY
(a) w/ Seat heater: Remove the screw, seat heater control and seat heater control wire harness.

14. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER
(a) Install the seat cushion cover with new hog rings to the
seat cushion pad.
(b) Install the seat cushion cover with pad to the seat cushion frame with new hog rings.
HINT:

Do not damage the seat cushion cover nor make it dirty.

When installing the hog rings, take care to prevent
wrinkles as much as possible.
15. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COV- ER
(a) Install the seatback cover with new hog rings to the seat cushion pad.
(b) Install the seatback cover with pad to the seatback frame with new hog rings.
HINT:

Do not damage the seatback cover nor make it dirty.

When installing the hog rings, take care to prevent
wrinkles as much as possible.
16. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK ASSY
(a) Using a hexagon wrench, Install the seatback with the 4 bolts.
17. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH
(a) Install the inner belt with the nut. Torque: 42 N
m (428 kgf
cm, 31 ft
lbf)
(b) Connect the connectors.
(c) Check that the inner seat belt moves smoothly.
18. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Place the seat in the cabin.
(b) Connect the connectors under the seat.
(c) Install the seat with the 4 bolts. Torque: 37 N
m (375 kgf
cm, 27 ft
lbf)
(d) Install the 4 seat track covers.
(e) Install the headrest.
19. CHECK SEAT SLIDE ADJUSTER LOCKS

2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH
(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 seat switch knobs.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Remove the 5 screws.
(c) Using a screwdriver, disengage the claws and remove thecushion shield with the inner No. 1 LH, and then discon-
nect the connector.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(d) Remove the 2 screws and seat switch.
3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER NO.1 LH
(a) Remove the screw and cushion shield.
4. REMOVE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH
(a) Disconnect the connectors.
(b) Remove the 3 screws and seat switch.
5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH
(a) Remove the nut and inner belt.

6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER LH
(a) Remove the screw.
(b) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and clip, and remove the cushion shield.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
7. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER
(a) Disengage the hook and remove the seat cushion cover together with the p\
ad.
(b) Remove the hog rings and seat cushion cover.
8. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT BACK COVER
(a) w/ Side airbag: Remove the hog rings, nut and seatback cover bracket.
(b) Remove the 2 headrest supports.
(c) Remove the hog rings and seatback cover together withthe pad.
(d) Remove the hog rings and seatback cover.
9. REMOVE SEAT POSITION AIR BAG SENSOR
(a) Remove the screw and airbag sensor.
10. REMOVE POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSY (RECLINING)
(a) Remove the 3 bolts and reclining motor.
11. REMOVE POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSY (SLIDE)
(a) Remove the 2 bolts, nut and slide motor.
12. REMOVE POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSY (LIFTER)
(a) Remove the 2 bolts, nut and lifter motor.
13. REMOVE POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSY (FRONT VERTICAL)
(a) Remove the 2 bolts, nut and vertical motor.
14. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER SUB±ASSY LH
(a) Remove the 2 screws and lumbar support adjuster.
(b) Remove the wire harness connector.
(c) Remove the 3 screws and 2 reclining adjuster inside covers LH.
(d) Remove the 3 screws and 2 reclining adjuster inside covers RH.
(e) Remove the screw and vertical adjuster bracket cover outer.
(f) Remove the screw and vertical adjuster bracket cover inner.
(g) w/ Seat heater: Remove the seat heater control.
