NOTICE
■To prevent water damage
Take all necessary safety measures to ensure that water damage to the
hybrid battery, hybrid system or other components does not occur.
● Water entering the engine compartment may cause severe damage t o the
hybrid system. Water entering the interior may cause the hybrid battery
stowed under the rear seats to short circuit.
● Water entering the hybrid transaxle will cause deterioration in transmission
quality. The malfunction indicator may come on, and the vehicle may not
be drivable.
● Water can wash the grease from wheel bearings, causing rusting and pre-
mature failure, and may also enter the transaxle case, reducing the gear
oil’s lubricating qualities.
■ When you drive through water
If driving through water, such as when crossing shallow streams , first check
the depth of the water and the bottom of the riverbed for firmn ess. Drive
slowly and avoid deep water.
■ Inspection after off-road driving
● Sand and mud that has accumulated in brake drums and around bra ke
discs may affect braking efficiency and may damage brake system compo-
nents.
● Always perform a maintenance inspection after each day of off-r oad driv-
ing that has taken you through rough terrain, sand, mud, or wat er. For
scheduled maintenance information, refer to the “Scheduled Main tenance
Guide” or “Owner’s Manual Supplement”.

Entune Audio Plus/Entune Premium Audio
For vehicles with Entune Premium Audio or Entune Audio Plus, re fer
to the “NAVIGATION AND MULTIMEDIA SYSTEM OWNER’S MAN-
UAL”.
■ Using cellular phones
Interference may be heard through the audio system's speakers if a cellular
phone is being used inside or close to the vehicle while the au dio system is
operating.

The Bluetooth wordmark and logo are owned by Bluetooth SIG. and permis-
sion has been granted to use the trademark of the licensee Pana sonic
Corporation. Other trademarks and trade names are owned by various differ-

Audio system types

■ To prevent 12-volt b attery discharge
Do not leave the audio system on longer than necessary when the hybrid
system is off.
■ To avoid damaging the audio system
Take care not to spill drinks or other fluids on the audio system.

phone, confirming vehicle inf ormation and changing Entune
Audio settings are sta rted by using the following buttons.

By touching the screen with your finger, you can control Entune Audio,
etc.
■Drag*
Touch the screen with your finger, and move the screen to the
desired position.
● Scrolling the lists
■Flick*
Touch the screen with your finger and quickly move the screen b y
flicking your finger.
● Scrolling the main screen page
*: The above operations may not be performed on all screens.
■Capacitive touch switches
The control panel uses capacitive touch sensors.
●In the following cases, incorrect operation or non-response may occur.
• If the operating section is dirty or has liquid attached to it, incorrect opera- tion or non-response may occur.
• If the operating section receives electromagnetic waves, incor rect opera-
tion or non-response may occur.
• If wearing gloves during operation, non-response may occur.
• If fingernails are used to operate the system, non-response may occur.
• If a touch pen is used to operate the system, non-response may occur.
• If the palm of your hand touches the operating section during operation,
incorrect operation may occur.
• If the palm of your hand touches the operating section, incorr ect opera-
tion may occur.
• If operations are performed quickly, non-response may occur.
● Please do not reach your hand to the part of button when Entune Audio turn
on. Because the button may become unresponsive for a while. But it will be
back to normal for a given time even if Entune Audio turned on under the
condition.

When using the touch screen
●If the screen is cold, the display may be dark, or the system may seem to be
operating slightly slower than normal.
● The screen may seem dark and hard to see when viewed through su n-
glasses. Change your angle of viewing, adjust the display on th e “Display
Settings” screen ( P. 365) or remove your sunglasses.
● Flick operations may not be performed smoothly in high altitude s.
NOTICE
■To avoid damaging the touch screen
● To prevent damaging the screen, lightly touch the screen button s with your
finger.
● Do not use objects other than your finger to touch the screen.
● Wipe off fingerprints using a glass cleaning cloth. Do not use chemical
cleaners to clean the screen, as they may damage the touch scre en.

Steering wheel audio switches
Some audio features can be cont rolled using the switches on
the steering wheel.
Operation may differ depending on the type of audio system or
navigation system. For details, refer to the manual provided with
the audio system or navigation system.

iPod
Open the cover and connect an
iPod using an iPod cable.
Turn on the power of the iPod if
it is not turned on.

USB memory
Open the cover and connec t the USB memory device.
Turn on the power of the USB memory device if it is not turned on.
■
Portable audio player
Open the cover and connect the portable audio player.
Turn on the power of the portable audio player if it is not tur ned on.
■AUX port
The AUX port only supports audio input.
AUX Por t/USB Por t
Connect an iPod, USB memory device or portable audio player
to the AUX port/USB port as indi cated below. Select “iPod”,
“USB” or “AUX” on th e audio source selection screen and the
device can be operated via audio system.

Operating Entune Audio
Press the “ ” or “ ” button to
seek up or down for a radio
station, or to access a
desired track or file.
Press this knob to turn Entune
Audio on and off, and turn it to
adjust the volume.

to eject a disc
Press to pause or resume
playing music.
Insert a disc into
the disc slot
