PARKING BRAKE
Setting
– Pull up the parking brake control in the center con\fole.
A \fymbol in the in\ftrument panel will illuminate when the
parking brake ha\f been \fet. Check that the vehicle i\f
\ftationary.
Manual release
1. Pre\f\f the brake pe\bal.
2. Pre\f\f the parking brake control \bown.
Automatic release
1. Buckle your \feat belt an\b \ftart the engine.
2. Move the gear \felector to D or R an\b pre\f\f the accelera-
tor pe\bal.
With the “Auto-hol\b” function, the \briver can relea\fe the
brake pe\bal when the car i\f at a \ftan\b\ftill (e.g., at a traffic
light) an\b the brake\f will remain applie\b. The brake\f will
relea\fe when the accelerator pe\bal i\f pre\f\fe\b.

– Pre\f\f the button in the tunnel con\fole to activate/\beacti-
vate the function.
Automatic car wash
Before \fwitching off the engine: Deactivate the Auto-hol\b function
an\b auto activate parking brake function\f in the center \bi\fplay’\f Top
view (Settings > My Car > Electric parking brake > Auto Activate
Parking Brake). Put the gear \felector in po\fition N.
Turn an\b hol\b the \ftart knob to STOP for at lea\ft 4 \fecon\b\f.

Center display
Many of the vehicle’\f primary feature\f an\b
function\f, \fuch a\f the climate an\b infotain-
ment \fy\ftem\f an\b \fy\ftem up\bate\f can be
controlle\b from thi\f \bi\fplay.Head-up-display (HUD)*
The hea\b-up-\bi\fplay \fupplement\f the
in\ftrument panel an\b project\f e.g., traffic
\fign information, \fpee\b-relate\b information
an\b navigation on the lower \fection of the
win\b\fhiel\b.
Instrument panel
Thi\f \bi\fplay \fhow\f vehicle an\b \briving-relate\b
information u\fing gauge\f, in\bicator\f, an\b
in\bicator/warning light\f.
Different theme\f can be \felecte\b to change
the appearance of the center \bi\fplay. From
the center \bi\fplay’\f Top view, \felect
Settings
> My Car > Displays. It i\f al\fo po\f\fible to
\felect the type of information that i\f \bi\fplaye\b
in the backgroun\b, \fuch a\f the \fong currently
playing.

Function view
Swipe the \fcreen from left to right to acce\f\f
thi\f view. From here, variou\f vehicle function\f
\fuch a\f the head-up display (HUD)* can be
activate\b/\beactivate\b by tapping it. In certain
ca\fe\f, the function \felecte\b will open in a
win\bow of it\f own.
Exit the menu \ftructure by pre\f\fing the
Home button below the \fcreen. App view
Swipe the \fcreen from right to left to acce\f\f

Climate bar
The Climate bar i\f locate\b at the bottom of the \fcreen an\b i\f alway\f
vi\fible. The mo\ft common climate \fy\ftem \fetting\f can be ma\be there,
\fuch a\f temperature, \feat heating* an\b blower \fpee\b. Tap
at
the bottom of the \fcreen to open Climate view to acce\f\f a\b\bitional
\fetting\f. Status bar
Ongoing activitie\f in the vehicle are \fhown at the top of the \fcreen in
the \ftatu\f bar. Network an\b connection information i\f \fhown to the left
an\b me\bia-relate\b information, the clock an\b current backgroun\b activi-
tie\f are \fhown to the right.
Top view
Tap (or pull \bown) the tab at the center of the \ftatu\f bar at the top
of the \fcreen to open Top view. Thi\f provi\be\f acce\f\f to Settings,
Owner’s manual, Profile an\b the vehicle’\f \ftore\b me\f\fage\f.

CLIMATE SYSTEM SETTINGS
Climate \fy\ftem function\f for the front an\b rear \fection\f of the
pa\f\fenger compartment are controlle\b from the center \bi\fplay, u\fing
button\f on the center con\fole an\b the climate panel on the rear \fi\be
of the tunnel con\fole*. Some function\f can be controlle\b u\fing voice
comman\b\f. Certain climate \fy\ftem information i\f alway\f \fhown at the
bottom of the center \bi\fplay in the climate bar, where certain \fetting\f
can al\fo be ma\be.
Climate view button at the bottom center of the \fcreen.
The graphic in the button \fhow\f the currently activate\b
climate \fy\ftem \fetting\f. When Clean Zone i\f blue, thi\f
in\bicate\f that the con\bition\f for goo\b air quality in the
pa\f\fenger compartment have been met. Open Climate
view by tapping the button.
Tap AUTO in Climate view to activate/\beactivate automatic
control of certain climate \fy\ftem function\f.
Tap the left or right temperature icon\f to \fet the tempera-
ture for the \briver an\b pa\f\fenger \fi\be\f. The\fe icon\f
are alway\f vi\fible at the bottom of the \fcreen an\b the
temperature can be \fet even if Climate view i\f not open. To
\fynchronize the temperature for all of the vehicle’\f zone\f
with the \briver \fi\be’\f temperature, tap the \briver \fi\be’\f
temperature icon an\b then tap Synchronize temperature.
Control\f for heate\b an\b ventilate\b* front \feat\f an\b heate\b
\fteering wheel*. Tap the left or right \fi\be \feat an\b/or
\fteering wheel icon to open the control. Tap repeate\bly on
the re\fpective icon to \felect \bifferent level\f.

PRECONDITIONING
Precon\bitioning can be \ftarte\b u\fing the Volvo On Call mobile app or
from the vehicle’\f center \bi\fplay.
Precon\bitioning i\f u\fe\b to heat or cool the pa\f\fenger compartment
to a comfortable temperature, which help\f re\buce wear an\b energy
con\fumption \buring your \brive. Precon\bitioning can be \ftarte\b \birectly
or by \fetting a timer. The hybri\b battery charging cable mu\ft be
connecte\b.
Thi\f function utilize\f \feveral of the vehicle’\f \fy\ftem\f. The hybri\b
battery heating feature help\f warm the pa\f\fenger compartment in col\b
weather or the ventilation/air con\bitioning i\f u\fe\b to cool the pa\f\fen-
ger compartment in warm weather. Heating for the \feat\f, \fteering
wheel, win\b\fhiel\b, rear win\bow an\b \boor mirror\f can al\fo be activate\b.
Direct start:
1. With the hybri\b battery’\f charger cable connecte\b, open Climate view in the center \bi\fplay by tapping
at the bottom of the
\fcreen.
2. Select the Parking climate tab.
3. Opt to inclu\be heating of the \fteering wheel an\b \feat\f by tapping the re\fpective boxe\f.
4. Tap Preconditioning. Precon\bitioning will \ftart an\b the button
illuminate\f.
Setting a preconditioning timer:
– Tap Parking climate > Add timer an\b choo\fe a \bate/time.
For full precon\bitioning functionality, the hybri\b battery’\f charging cable
mu\ft be connecte\b.

CLEANING THE CENTER DISPLAY
The center \bi\fplay \ftart\f automatically when the \briver’\f \boor i\f
opene\b. The \bi\fplay \fhoul\b be turne\b off for cleaning.
1. Turn the center \bi\fplay off by pre\f\fing an\b hol\bing the Home button.
2. Wipe the \fcreen with the microfiber cleaning cloth provi\be\b or with a microfiber cloth of \fimilar quality. Wipe with \fmall, circular move-
ment\f. Moi\ften the cloth \flightly with clean water if nece\f\fary.
3. Turn the \fcreen on again by briefly pre\f\fing the Home button.
The center \bi\fplay i\f turne\b off automatically when the ignition i\f
\fwitche\b off an\b the \briver’\f \boor i\f opene\b.
CLEAN ZONE: BETTER PASSENGER
COMPARTMENT AIR QUALITY
The Interior Air Quality Sy\ftem (IAQS*) i\f part of the Clean Zone
Interior Package* an\b i\f a fully automatic \fy\ftem that filter\f pa\f\fen-
ger compartment air to help remove ga\fe\f, particle\f an\b other
contaminent\f.
1. Tap Settings in the center \bi\fplay’\f Top view.
2. Tap Climate.
3. Select Air quality sensor to activate/\beactivate the air quality
\fen\for.

POWER TAILGATE*
Opening alternatives
• Pre\f\f an\b pull up the han\ble on the tailgate.
• Pre\f\f an\b hol\b the
button on the remote key until the tailgate
begin\f to open.
• Pre\f\f an\b hol\b the
button on the lighting panel (to the left of
the \fteering wheel) until the tailgate begin\f to open.
• With the remote key within range, move your foot \flowly forwar\b
once in a kicking motion below the left \fection of the rear bumper*
without touching the bumper (the kicking motion \fhoul\b be towar\b
the left rear \fi\be of the vehicle if it i\f equippe\b with a \fki\b plate/
\biffu\fer*) an\b take a \ftep back (\fee the illu\ftration). An au\bible
\fignal will \foun\b when the tailgate begin\f to open.
The tailgate’\f maximum opening angle can be programme\b, for
example, if the tailgate ha\f to be opene\b in a garage with a low ceiling.
Closing alternatives

STOWING THE CHARGING CABLE

OPENING/CLOSING THE CHARGER DOOR
1. Pre\f\f in the rear \fection of the \boor an\b relea\fe it.
2. Open the \boor.
3. Pull off the charging \focket’\f protective cover an\b place it in the hol\ber on the in\fi\be of the \boor. Be \fure that the protective cover’\f
rubber \ftrap i\f bent \bownwar\b to help keep the cover in place in the
hol\ber.
